Dean Malenko vs Rey Mysterio is an underrated feud. They had consistently good matches with each other that really helped move the cruiserweight division forward. Dean would also have an, in my opinion, underrated feud with Jeff Jarrett the following year.
@@dend1 I don't want to spoil much, but let's just say WWE (WWF) is about to get destroyed in the ratings (and in quality as well) by WCW starting now and for several months (each month with WCW kicking WWF harder and harder), which is going to force Vince McMahon to do a complete revamp of WWF(WWE) and turn it into the Attitude era. Stone Cold is around right now but he is a mid-carder at this moment not getting that much TV time, but he will begin to gain steam eventually and slowly get into that main event after several months. Stone Cold's slow rise from mid-carder to main eventer is very much worth watching. As for the Rock... well... he's not going to show up till later in 1996, but let's just say when the Rock shows up, he won't be the Rock... he will be Rocky Maivia... a happy, smiling, squeaky clean good guy with an ultra positive view on life who loves everything and would never make fun of anyone.... and the crowd reaction he is going to eventually get is going to be VERY interesting. His slow transition from Rocky Maivia to The Rock (which he will be forced to do. You'll see why) is a very interesting metamorphoses as the WWF (WWE) in general is forced to transform from the family friendly "New Generation" era into the "Attitude era" due to how badly they are about to be destroyed by WCW in every way possible. You'll see.
This looks like it was made by people who grew up with the source material and who will give it proper attention. I like it. They proved with Sonic that this kind of VG movie can be done reasonably well.

@@rikkihill22 I mean y'all aren't wrong. Ice in the winter isn't uncommon, but it's always manageable and maybe sucks for driving for about a day or two, but this is definitely a freak event. I personally love the cold and winter in general because screw summer heat, but I'm just done with this.

Luckily it didn't ruin everything, but my carpets absolutely have to be changed and I'm sure I lost some minor things considering I just moved in 2 weeks ago and still had things in boxes on the floor 😬
I really like how the series started out with a more "neutral/documentary" style tone and is now a lot more snarky. I love it and can't wait to finally binge more episodes
I always loved Bobby Heenan, but I especially loved him around this time because his whole take on Hogan’s heel turn was basically “I told you so!” Even turning heel couldn’t get the Brain on Hogan’s side. That’s a true commitment to the bit.
Im really surprised they ever let Mongo McMichael do a Tombstone piledriver or any piledriver considering how potentially dangerous the move is and Mongo's inexperience in the ring.
It is actually a very safe move and it was given to people with a lot of strength as an easy finisher. It is only dangerous when 150lb midgets do it because they are too short and not strong enough to hold the other guy in the right place.
Bash At The Beach-Hogan comes out, the fans are cheering, and then I hear Bobby "The Brain" Heenan ask:"Yeah, but whose side is he on"? Moments later, we saw a new, and much more evil, Hulk Hogan!
Bret would have helped for sure. This was a complete throwaway episode of Raw. Where was Undertaker, Mankind, Goldust, etc? And the two people who are always absolute money in the ring...one is off making a soap opera, and the other is shackled to Ahmed Johnson in a backstage interview.
I love the little shots you take at glacier. I almost forgot about how hyped everyone was to see him and how little any cared when he finally showed up.
Owen Hart should have been the top heel in the WWF during The New Generation era. He was the precursor to Kurt Angle with his comedic abilities, but also a real threat in the ring. They really should have done more with him. I love that he would bring his slammy awards everywhere with him too. It's just these little touches that make him so brilliant.
Rey is possibly retiring soon. He started wrestling back in 1989, when he was just 14 years old. He's had an amazing career, but age and injuries have taken their toll on his body. Will he actually retire, though? Only he knows when he'll call it a day in the Ring.
And I have to say I love this reliving the war...it takes me back to when I was younger and so many memories when I was a huge wresting fan..it will never be that good again

What doesn't get enough credit is Schiavone's role in the Bash at the Beach ending. He ended the PPV with 'And Hulk Hogan, you can go straight to Hell'. He didn't even seem angry, just dissapointed and defeated. It's weird to use terms like this when talking about wrestling, but it was haunting. He went from cheering Hogan moments before to just being completely numb, in shock. His whole world was turned upside down and there was just nothing there anymore. Absolutely fantastic delivery.
This series and this channel deserve definitely over a million subs, amazing content and the best, most concise, and absolutely the most entertaining way to relive the war. Thank you.

I've been binge watching this series in my free time. I'm loving the new intro, considering the timeline. It's a cool surprise after getting used to the old intro.
