They have been grossly underrated ever since this song came out. That album was phenomenal.
Under 1 mill views for a awsome song while cardi b WAP is in the billions. Goes to show how dumb down this world has become

Indeed
@@darkfog360 😭😭😭😭
That album helped me through a lot of tough times
This band takes me to another place in time. I’ll always miss those days.
1000% - I couldn't agree more
Yes this song rules !!
Nostalgia to the max with this band, they were my first uncensored CD purchase, had to beg my aunt to buy it for me.
" I wish there was a way to know you're in "the good old days", before you've actually left them."-Andrew Bernard
Will never forget seeing them with Chevelle, Breaking Benjamin, Seether, Crossfade, Shinedown, and Flyleaf at a festival and they stole the show.
I can remember singing the words to this song as a 16 year old in High School not truly understanding what the song meant....now I’m singing along to the words as a 30 year old that’s been battling heroin addiction for 8 years and know exactly what this song means. Crazy how the world works....
Big Ron The Python I hear ya on that my man
Hey I was 10 years deep in IV use until about 6 years ago. My DOC was Opana but I did my fair share of H when i couldn't get the other. Don't ever feel like you're stuck. Suboxone saved my ass. Yeah I still take it every day but other than some weed I am sober from that shit. Best thing ever. When you're ready to be done if you can't titrate your dose down, consider a sub clinic. If you can take small doses of it for a few weeks you will kick it. Don't give up man you can do it, I promise. Take care.
Man I hope you get the strength to get through it.
@Kaas-Ican True but after 8 years you can't just quit. You need at bare minimum a support group. If you haven't experienced it I don't expect you to understand. Let's just say you cant even get out of bed except to make it to the toilet for weeks or months on end depending on length of use. But he should definately seek out those resources and surround himself with people that will support him instead of screaming" just quit!" down his throat. That will send an addict running the other direction in a heartbeat.
@@markdesselle5572 Thank you for understanding...I know Kaas means well by his/her comment but like you said it's not as easy as "just quit". I wish it was. Like you, I'm an IV'er...totally different monster withdrawing. People that say "just quit" have never experienced puking up yellow/orange bottom of your stomach bile, the hot and cold flashes, the body aches, etc etc. I wish it was as easy as "just quit" I truly do. I don't want my little girl growing up without a father like I did, unfortunately that goes thru my head daily, and I'm still losing the struggle to win. Much love for the support though, glad you guys reached out, means a lot...
The chorus is even more haunting when he doesn't scream it out.
Ya like he means it even more!
Haha
Good acoustic version though
Yeah, it sure does. 😂
Robert Witt nah he definitely can, it’s not a very hard vocal line
This song is about whatever keeps you going. "Drugs" is just a metaphor...
Maturing has its benefits 👍🏻
My drug is alcohol. Two years sober this past july. ...been struggling so hard with all this covid shit though. Music like this helps.
Hey im with ya man. Got out of actuve duty in 2016. Bad dwi accident landed me in jail for 31 days. My son was only 2 months old and i was facing 8 years because of the injuries my uncle sustained during the accident. Ill be sober for 3 years Nov 18th this year. Its possible brother, stay vigilante. There's hope!
Dude all I did was smoke 🚬.
Covid has me craving a nicotine high.
I haven't had nicotine in 2 years.
Social distancing means I haven't seen my family this year. My mother has to caretake for her parents and my father has been out of the picture my whole life.
My childhood friends live over 100 miles away...
My wife has been a huge help but after awhile the walls of my home feel like a prison cell instead of a sanctuary.
Some days it feels like they're just gone, instead of a 2 hour (one way) drive away.
The virus hasn't been as destructive to me personally as the quarantine has.
The quarantine has effectively severed my family ties completely.
My family are now just as close to me as my work acquaintances.
Nothing more than a phone call every few months.
At least with a cigarette or two I'd feel a bit calmer.
I can't risk it though or I'll be hooked again in two days. It's too easy to finish a pack and just keep going.
I know those withdrawals aren't as bad as other addictions but they still felt worse than the flu. I felt sore like I was sick all the time, threw up when I ate for the first day or two, I had bad migraines, and I was mad at everyone for no reason.
I know it's not worth it to have to go through that again for temporary relief but man it's tempting some days.
🍻
@@6423nintendo I also miss concerts.
I had tickets for June.
Entire tour canceled due to covid-19 restrictions.
Damn this acoustic version is nothing short of amazing. The vocals are superb.
I was obsessed with this band on my way to middle school on the bus. Love smile empty soul, and Billy Talent to this day
Listening to this while full blown withdrawing off suboxone and clonazepam. Goosebumps from how this reflects my life. And this was the song I was doing oxys and coke to back in high school. I’ve come full circle
I've seen them twice in less than a years and I got the opportunity to meet them both and I told them "if you keep coming to Houston, I'll keep coming to your shows".
Whoever mixed this deserves some recognition. Sounds great!
Wow! Rarely do I appreciate an acoustic version more than the metal version. This is one of them rare moments.
God, this song takes me back. I would sing along while I was battling my addiction. Thank you guys for being there in my dark times.
I’m so grateful to say that I’ve been completely sober for over a year now. And I’m finally expecting to be a mother soon.
The look he has playing the opening riff is pure passion. Absolute love for what he’s doing. Unbelievable.
Even us old school rockers feel this to the bone...
Man this guy has it alex lightning ❤
When this song was popular my husband and I were addicts and every time we would hear this song we would go get high. Well my husband passed and now I listen to this song in his memory! Love and miss you G.
The acoustic version is insane.
Loved this song as a kid but I understand it more in my heart as a Adult. 👍
Some of the best acoustic drop d I've ever heard
I love Smile Empty Soul ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Fuckin epiccc!!
One of the first cds I ever got. Went to sleep to it for a long time.
I listened Smile Empty Soul for the first time in 2007. Since that day I never stopped listening to this extraordinary band, I wish I could be a great producer to take them to the top. Sean is a legend.
This version gives me chills everytime. They're on my concert bucket list
Never struggled but I've lived with it
His voice is amazing.. Such gorgeous tone and range
Right
2021 and still listening. This acoustic version is just something else. Amazing band.
Just amazing! Miss the early 2000’s. What a time to be alive.
This version made me appreciate this song again cause if you have been listening to these guys as long as I have this song was played tf out for years now they have so many great songs and yet the radio only plays this one
Seen them live back in 2012 at the rockapalooza
I'm a recovering addict. This song meant so much to me at the time when I was younger. It's a blessing to see it remastered now right when I need it the most. 🖤
2023 still a banger.
💯
This song brings a lot of my past dark memories . When this song came out, back in 2004 , I was fighting my addiction, I couldn't get rid of the drugs and Psychotropic substance. I went to various rehabilitation centres but still couldn't defeat my addiction until the summer of 2012 but now I'm a responsible family man and 12 years total abstinence from my choice of substance.
All letters make me feel just like I was written. I can't describe the feeling when I hear Smile Empty Soul.
2024 still as good as the day I bought the album
Saw these guys do an acoustic set about 8 years ago or something like that. Still have the signed 8x10 on my wall in a frame. one of my all time fav bands.
Pamietam jak kiedys grali na festiwalu w Węgorzewie to byly czasy pozdrawiam rodowity wegorzewianin. Nikt a stoi !!!! 💚
Gen Z will understand how amazing this is one day. When they want kids, when they realize what life is. Thanks, Sean. You saved my life.
So true.
Isn’t it funny people don’t normally attend to the desire of self pleasure, but it’s sold as an experience for every one…the power of helping just one person through music is world changing.
This is my jam i miss the early 2000s
Sounds like he hasn't aged a day, beautiful voice, chills down my spine
That song has always deserved to be as great as he just made it. That's next level, even from his tall starting point.
It sucks getting old this song makes me remember a golden era when we didn't have carona and everything wasn't digital i miss that teenager that i was songs so nastalgic and sad cause things will never be that innocent again we live in a world were songs like this will never get air time its sad i miss who i was and who i could have been ive been sober for over a year and am conformed to a society that will never make sence you dint see people gathering in person everyone gathers on social media getting old sucks its awesome that people are still rocking out
Good shit 2024
I remember having 3 cds i listened to on repeat. Mudvayne l.d.50 and beginning of all things to end and this smile empty soul album. They shouldve gotten way bigger
It was fun Workin with you in Spokane Washington about 6 years ago at the hop now closed down sadly but great job nostalgic rock on come back to town anytime
I've just come across this version of this song and i love it. My older brother bought this album when it came out and this is like travelling back in time a bit or something. A lot has changed since then. Thank you, Sean Danielsen for this song.
Have been a fan for years
Damn his voice is incredible
OMG I remember in my 20's I went to you guys concert and Slipknot played too
Always been one of my favorite bands. These guys and Hurt I feel are severely underappreciated.
Wow, my hats off to you. Sometimes i feel like im the only one who remembers Hurt, let alone likes them. One of my favorites, even got a tattoo of a line in rapture. But not a single person has ever known what its from.
@@samanthathick6724 that song is about abortion I read. It can be about many things to many people, but to him it was abortion.
@@samanthathick6724 I did a cover of falls apart on my fb that everyone seems to like. Anyways, dance russet is a good one, they have a live version with him playing the violin
@@matthewrebelmonster6095 yes I've heard the same thing, which to me the song blatantly shows that thats what its about. I do love falls apart as well, and Losing. Their acoustic set was the best imo. So much passion. However i do not relate to rapture, thankfully, but the song is amazing nonetheless. The line i took from it, i felt was very powerful and it's actually a tattoo in dedication to my children. "Find in me, the room to breathe " My way of letting them know they can put anything on me and i will find a way to find them peace.
@@samanthathick6724 I'm so glad Hurt decided to come to my shitty state all those years back and play in the capital, Jackson back when we occasionally would get some bands come through. They are criminally underrated
This was my jam back in the day ♥️♥️ late 90s and early 2000s rock era was the real shit. Miss those days
This song hits different all these years later
I hope you come to Korea to perform. Of course Korea is South Korea. I've been your fan since 2009, and I've always wanted you to come to our country. my teenage hero. Although I am already in my 30s, I will never forget my teenage years with Smile empty soul. Just like the Foofighters. I hope we don't go back to the past. your fan
I listened to this so much in high school. What a throwback.
Reppin FLINT town!
this track is powerful juju.... Also solid AF
Best version of this song. I love acoustic :D
This is a modern masterpiece. This is so real, it makes me replay and replay.
Been sober since July made a promise to my mother when she had her surgery I was gonna better myself for her
Wow. Literally just wow. So well done. It's like the mature version of being dead inside to me
Their tracks are always high quality...the instruments almost seem lifelike on my system. Been listening to SES from around 8 years ago. Severely underrated group.
You can still feel it after 16 years. Just like how Sean sung it on the self titled record.
These guys were YEARS ahead of it with their debut album. I was rocking that cd in MIDDLE SCHOOL! 🍻 The song "This is war" I mean come on. Its perfect.
Hits even harder
Was on a nostalgia trip and then realized this came out in 20 fucking 19.
Thank you so damn much.
So good ❤
every song you have ever written is pure genius! your one of the most talented artist to ever! vultures would be a good add to the album by the way!!
Agreed!
Thank you for making the 2000s great.
This guy's got mad talent
God paid it for us
Finally a group I fit in, I've missed this band and heard them in Germany , they have gotten me through a whole lot in my life without them I be dead
The good days of coming home from school and turning on some Dedicated Live on Fuse.
Sean is a very great singer. I like his vocals a lot
His delivery....
Full of emotion as always! :) Love it!
Brings back all the good and bad
Wow that was wonderful. He's mad talented.
I get to see this band in 3 weeks after loving them intensely for 15 years. I'm so EXCITED. I battled addiction for many years and this song resonated so well with me. I'm just unbelievably excited.
Great Great guitarist
I don't know what I'm here on the earth for.
All I know is that as long as I'm here I'll be listening to this band..
Two years clean!
Low key for acoustic just really good.
Nice shirt... much love from FLINT
Love the Flint 👕 810 Flint native here and the fact that I was 13 when I first listen to this song and 20yrs later I still feel the same way about it
Amazing!!!! Saw them at Juanita’s Little Rock 2004
When I was 18 wished so bad that I could have this cd!
Great, perfect, superb!
On my playlist everytime I go to jam on you tube
This song helped me write an apology to someone I hurt, that was long overdue. Brings out all the feelings. It's never too late to change. Move forward, day by day. Just don't stop.
I wish I could see light but I am told this is the only experience that exists through the "sun". How important light must be 🙁
Dang this is freaking awssome sounding
I heard the intro to this while I was at work the other day. It immediately took me to another era mentally. The nostalgia's strong with this song. I miss those days. Still sounds great to this very day ❤.
Incredible! Love this song! Great Memories1
Hanging out with this guy the night they played Rocket Town in Nashville TN is one of my best memories. 2005. Picture stays on my wall. Great song and band.
Love from Sri Lanka...a fan since 2003...you guys still rock..
This song got me hooked and clean at the same time. 90's were fun, crazy, sad, exciting, and every other emotion.
Keep up the great work. SES still remains one of my favorite bands 🤘
It's 7:26am and I'm suddenly 20 years younger then I was when I woke up.
❤🤘🙏
6:26am here 5 months later
I wonder what it is like to have a body that walks, talks sleeps and eats.
This is what I'm talking about!! 🤘🤘
one of my favorite songs, i like the foot tapping keeping the beat
