😂 our board game shelf is also a mash of makes sense and oh this fits here! We've run out of room (need to get a second shelf to stack like you did). This was a really fun video 😊
Greetings from Golden neighbors! Putting the games in the basement freaks me out. I had a friend tell me there are two types of basements…Those that have flooded and those that will.
Hello! Very familiar with Golden, I went to school at Mines. 🙂 And I have similar concerns with the basement but I think my intended spot will be relatively flood-proof... I'll at least put my least favorite games on the bottom. 😛 -Ryan
Thanks for the tour! What a great collection! The way you organized from the light weight games at the bottom was interesting. I need a system like that too. Clever idea with the kids protector. I could've used that when my young nephews came to visit! I was thinking of a guard dog, but the netting seems more sensible.
Thanks! Yeah I mostly want things organized so that when we go to pick a game, we are usually looking at options in roughly the same section. Netting, guard dog... Why not both? -Ryan
Thankyou for sharing, enjoyed hearing your thoughts on your collection, with the help of Daniel's witty comments :) I can imagine it might be difficult to decide which game to play at times!
Glad you enjoyed! We usually are able to narrow things down quite a bit based on the number of players we have, the general preferences of the group, and which games we haven't played in a while. :) -Ryan
Love your collection Ryan!! We seem to have a lot of crossovers so I always listen out for your recommendations; Slay the Spire being the next one I need to get hold of 🙂
Nice collection that is right at the very edge of overflow. You can delay the overflow by deaccessioning, of course, but you can't prevent it. I recommend picking up Frosthaven so you will have a place to sleep when that happens. Hope to see one or both of you at Genghis Con next month in Aurora. It's a great con for boardgames. And Cheyenne Gaming Convention is at the end of April again, and has been a very nice experience for me and my wife.
Won't be there this year, but hopefully local conventions are something that become more doable for us at some point! It'd be great fun to get some gaming in with some Rolls in the Family regulars. 🙂 -Ryan
This is great. Love 7ft Ryan! Love the kids area too. With my regular shelf, my kids LOVE just looking at the boxes, especially with the animals and dragons!!
Yeah the more my son has dabbled in playing some of my games, the more he eyes other ones on the shelf. On the bright side, neither kid has gravitated towards taking my games off the shelf unsupervised despite the lack of netting... -Ryan
I've heard good things about it! Honestly my biggest constraint to expanding my super dry mid-weight euros is convincing my game groups to play them with me haha. -Ryan
I think this was a couple days after his intense but brief sickness haha... Arcs was a lot of fun, very very tense... Very likely we'll discuss it in our January top plays. Hoping to do Daniel's collection tour when I'm there this summer! -Ryan
Ha usually the growth is somewhat slow since I regularly get rid of games, but it is definitely getting to the point where I need to be creative and find new spots like the couple mentioned in the video. I feel like making sure you are only keeping games that get played or that you really love helps the most in keeping it under control, but even then it might take some creative thinking haha. -Ryan

Can only go so far vertically until I can't reach things haha, glad you enjoyed it! -Ryan
Omg that mesh covering on the shelves is genius. I have a 6 month old who's about to get mobile, so very timely recommendation. Thanks!
It works pretty well! I forget where I ran across the idea, but credit goes to somebody on the internet that posted a similar solution haha. -Ryan

Brilliant work on that telestrations box Ryan!
Oh thanks, I have mad skills with cutting and taping haha. -Ryan

Always nice to find gamers that have similar tastes! Though I'm sure we will find ways to surprise you with games we enjoy. 😜 -Ryan
Great video!
Thanks for watching! -Ryan

Hopefully we can when I go his way this summer! -Ryan
Thanks for showing off the collection! Very solid games 👍 haha
Thanks, glad they are picklebuckeye-approved! 👌 -Ryan
@@RollsInTheFamilyhahaha funny enough, I’m also Ryan 😆
Ryans UNITE!! ✊
Thanks for this! If you're looking to add to your Lorenzo + Troyes aesthetic, I think Bruxelles fits right in.

@@RollsInTheFamily Totally fair
Great video. Was this after Daniel got sick? How was Arcs? Also I would love to see Daniel’s board game collection one day

@@RollsInTheFamily Very fun, thanks!
Great collection Ryan! What happens when you run out of space for new games? I’m currently in that situation which is why I ask
