Started doing exactly this about four years ago 🤣 ..... change has been gradual rather than scarily drastic in one go - probably better for me 😉

Roll on more changes in 2023 .... Happy New Year 🎉

Oh yeah, some changes are all at once, and some are gradual over time. Each can be just as impactful. 😊 Happy New Year!

Thank you for the super motivating video! In my home, I painted one wall lemon yellow and what a difference! Our living room if filled with plants and feels like were in a mediterranean courtyard, the whole family loves it! Especially during our long canadian winters. Wishing you a Happy New Year filled with many blessings and good health.❄🌟💙🌟🥂🌟💙🌟❄

Wonderful advice Laura! I love how you continually change your look and yet always stay true to yourself. I once took the advice of a professional at a very particular store and ended up buying a bunch of clothes that did not suit me at all. Each time I tried to wear one of the outfits I looked like I was in a costume. Now I am true to my style, which can be boring but is also very comforting. As for the reinventing, one of my close friends did this last year. She had inherited her parents' house and lived there with her dog. It was perfect (big, flat fenced in yard, updated, decorated exactly to her taste etc) except she was bored and lonely living in the suburbs. She thought about leaving for years but could not work up the courage until last year. At 67 years old she sold the house, moved into an apartment that has three outdoor spaces for dogs, and she could not be happier! It was a bold move and possibly not the best financial decision and yet you can't put a price on happiness!

Recently I’ve unfriended people on Facebook, etc. so much easier to do when most of your circles are online 😄
And the other day I cut my hair and dyed it burgundy (I’m limited in what I can do myself because my natural color is dark brown)
It’s so nice to be able to reinvent yourself 😊

Absolutely! It's good to try different ideas out especially with how we look. It's fine to cut your hair and if you don't like it who cares? If grows again.😍

Moving to another state (US) will be good for me. Lol. I def want to shed several things (or Aka “reputations”). The “nice” or “helpful” person. Ya know. Everyone else’s stable “rock” or something. Another is the crazy cat lady/cat whisperer reputation. Lol. Heck. I actually wouldn’t mind folks being a little scared to cross me. 😅😅 Def a lot more respect is in order Imo. And speaking of crazy hair. I’m done with soft and sweet. I want to look fierce. Electric blue will be next.
The new me is sassy. She is assertive. She doesn’t take crap from anyone. She has high standards for how people interact in her space and treat her. She is fierce. She commands respect. She also isn’t overly sympathetic to everyone’s manipulative sob stories. She no longer cares to that degree. She sometimes doesn’t care at all, so suck it up Buttercup. You’re on your own. She also isn’t helping you with your desperate cat problems either. Lol. She is independent, resourceful, confident and self sufficient. Oh right. Let’s also add she’s not going to be any man’s trophy or toy or object.m or possession. She is someone they will sorely regret trying to trap or cuff or own. Well ha ha. Hopefully I can at least make a dent in some of that this year.

I agree so much with your point on decor! Love a non-beige minimalist!! I’m in love with colour too!

Great advice! I had to laugh when you asked us what room we enjoyed the most. :-) Over the past 4 years, I have totally purged 30 years of accumulation - and made-over every room in the house (in anticipation of selling - but loved it so much, I couldn't even think of selling!)...all except the living room. That is still on the to-do list for new furniture and a make-over. That is the room I spend the most time in. It is a mess because the dogs 'own' the old couch and my cheap Odd Lots recliner is very comfy. The room hasn't been painted in 20+ years, but I still love the color - can't even imagine changing it. I never worry about keeping it tidy - because who cares, it's a dump. lol! And dogs will be dogs. It's their room. :-)

Our living room isn’t particularly clean and tidy either. We don’t use it much so I’m happy to focus on other spaces. 🙂

What goals have you and your husband set together for the new year and how do you do marriage goal setting so that you have your personal goals and joint goals with your spouse?
Also, I've been trying to get a couple particular friends out of our life for over 2 years and have just thrown my hands up. Nothing has worked because my spouse won't get on board. What can I do?

Power of habit the book is a huge help with change! If you haven’t read or listened to it. It’s truly life changing. Understanding why you do what you do and how to stop or change those things is not something we all have the knowledge to do. The book will show you what’s really going help you change things for the better. ❤

Doing your #clutterfreein5 last year has really helped me to be neat and tidy. It also enabled me to create a reading/crochet corner for myself in the sitting room. I've maintained most of the spaces all year thanks to my routines. Only yesterday, I spent a few minutes decluttering and tidying my drawer of wires/electric/battery items. Love your point about showcasing different aspects of ourselves. ❤️

I had to dump a dear friend who sucked me dry. My family said I should have done it years earlier. It hasn’t been easy, but it was worth it.
