Then her mom would give them permission in a vision. Because he wasn't trying to kill her specifically, he was trying to kill Riri and she was in the way (also, she chose to save Riri instead of herself, so *technically* he didn't kill her.)

Well in the original draft of Wakanda Forever they originally planed for them to get together. So when Namor gives Shuri the bracelet it was too mean that they are married because she accepted it in his culture, and towards the middle of the movie she relishes she is married to him. But they did not want to make it seem like she was flirting to get what she wants vs being a good diplomatic leader. Wanting Shuri to stand on her own and find her strength.
Seriously, as soon as I saw them together, my brain went "They'd look so good together", and then immediately added them to my fleet of ships. I don't need any more ships!
I did like them together a lot, cause they both understood each other and Namor was honest about his actions from the start despite killing the queen, he said he'd attack Wakanda he did. i can see Shuri's grief completely....but i think once they start allying i think something might click....like Namor's guilt once he realizes how hard Shuri has to work along with dealing with possibly some PTSD from the previous events. i feel one hint of a romance hinted was when Namor himself said he was a man no one could love. i kinda thought that would be arc of Shuri making him realize it was a possibility....but guess not, but i'm glad it didn't end up that way cause it would have kinda made a romantic subplot. i want to see them reconcile and sort out the hatred between both of them cause i think it could work (also not to mention considering Shuri was like Namor's first in a lot of ways....he seems like the dude who'd get jealous if he'd see her with someone else....just sayin....my opinion okay, not true....but just my thoughts)

reason number 4 caught me off guard and made me LOL 😂 and the “twitter is a miserable place, on tiktok we’re all happy” 😂😂 the thing about their ship that i like is actually how they have a lot of similarities, more than the enemies to lovers trope. i just appreciate how their characters suit each other perfectly and still have loads of possibilities with conflicts so that their story won’t be static or boring. I’ve seen arguments that yeah, the ship could be toxic because of what namor did but will it stay toxic? Does it have to stay toxic forever? if the writing can include a good forgiveness arc, then why not? But I guess that’s my apprehension about this ship. We don’t know what direction they’ll go with. We don’t know if the next films will still have them or have them interact. I’m just not the type of person to ship those with little canon possibility cause I like seeing my ships fulfilled in canon and not just in fanfic. So yeah I hope the public popularity will catch Marvel’s attention and I hope they truly consider this ship 🤧
The chemistry was hot, they had similar backstories of tragedy and he wasn't a full villain but an antagonist with serious motivations that made sense. They also both loved their people to the point of willing to kill themselves to protect their homelands. And while they made mistakes and bad communication pitted them against each other? There's a path forward for them to be allies to each other against the outside world.

I think the Shuri and Namor dynamic wouldn't be the best for Shuri. Watching your vid, it reminded me Cleopatra and Julius Caesar. These were leaders of powerful nations in their time. The thing is, Shuri still doesn't know what to do with herself, and is still trying to give herself a purpose. Namor, on the other hand, has only shown interest in Shuri for military purposes. I see Namor as more of a brother or teacher

I can see it happening but, I can also see Namor just leaving after she rebuilds her people and I literally mean her people, melanin Africans wakanda is a African Nation. I think the Shuri and Namor dynamic wouldn't be the best for Shuri. Watching your vid, it reminded me Cleopatra and Julius Caesar. These were leaders of powerful nations in their time. Once they got involved shit started going left slowly but surely especially Cleo because of being a woman. I don't want a dead lover being apart of another female superhero's story arc. It's bordering on cliche. And yes it would lead there one way or another because Shuri (like every woman in prominent positions) at some point would have to choose between her people or her heart.
Actually now that I think about it, it would be a bomb ass film series of Shuri growing into the role of being the Black Panther. Dead brother, dead lover, fighting against the men to earn her spot as queen of Wakanda. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I think before the movie was released some were shipping Namor with Romana because of the way he was staring at her in that clip from the scene on the beach we saw in the trailer.
My own theory as to why people are shipping Namor with anyone they can is because he has very intense eyes and Tenoch is a very sexy man.

He literally just wanted an ally, he didn’t mention wanting to burn the world by the end of the movie, so no, he’s not seeking to destroy the world, his motivation to do that ended when he yielded to Shuri. He did say he believed the alliance would strengthen Talokan but please understand that strengthening something isn’t equal to making others weak in the pursuit of it, and he didn’t make any message towards the latter when he explained why he yielded.

The thing is, Shuri still doesn't know what to do with herself, and is still trying to give herself a purpose. Namor, on the other hand, has only shown interest in Shuri for military purposes. Plus, Tenoch literally said he himself doesn't see a romance between them blooming. Yes, they had excellent chemistry, but that doesn't always lead to a romance. I see Namor as more of a brother or teacher

And cringe for me was everything about Namor except of Namor himself. I mean i liked a lot their conversation and he seems like motivated leader and experienced ruler unlike Suri. Redemption arc exists, there are many ways for Namor to try righting his wrong to gain Shuri’s trust if that’s where the writers want going. Death is not permanent too in CBM, maybe Namor could even help bringing back Ramonda to life
