- A short instructional video showing how to program the GQ43VT20T remote for a toyota sienna Minivan. this process may work for other toyota vehicles as well.
this will work on the 2005-2009 toyota Sienna remote.
why pay huge money to the dealer, when you can buy a remote online for a fraction of the price.

$12 Remote from Amazon, this programming vid was perfect. Thanks tons. Toyota wanted $250. One remote $138, plus $112 to program it.

Thanks for the Vid! This also worked for my 2007 Toy Avalon. Good stuff, spent @ $35 for 2 remotes and replaced the OG (1) that was not working. I did it twice as I only did it for one remote then got out of programming mode so as to do both at the same time.

Print this:
1. Start with the key out of the ignition, drivers door is open all others closed and
drivers door is unlocked.
2. Perform these steps within 5 seconds.
A. Insert the key into the ignition(Do NOT Turn) Pull key out.
B. Insert the key into the ignition(Do NOT Turn) Pull key out.
3. Perform these steps within 40 seconds.
A. Close then open the drivers door.
B. Close then open the drivers door.
C. Insert the key into the ignition(Do NOT Turn) Pull key out.
4. Perform these steps within 40 seconds.
A. Close then open the drivers door.
B. Close then open the drivers door.
C. Insert the key into ignition and leave it in ignition.
D. Close the drivers door.
E. Turn the ignition to ON (Do NOT Start) then back to OFF.
F. Remove the key from the ignition.
5. Within 3 seconds, the power door locks should lock then unlock automatically
indicating successful entry into programming mode.
Return to step 1 if the locks do not cycle at this point.
6. Perform these steps within 40 seconds.
A. Press the lock and unlock buttons on the remtoe simutaneously for 1.5 seconds.
B. Immediately after letting go of the lock and unlock buttons,
Press the lock button by itself and hold for 2 seconds. Within 3 seconds, the door
locks should lock and then unlock once indicating successful programming. If
the door locks cycle twice, repeat steps A and B in step 6 as the remote was
not accepted.
C. Repeat steps A and B in step 6 for each new remote.
7. Open drivers door.
What do you do if it doesn't ding when you put the key in?

thank you for your video. my sienna 2010 and I did exactly as you did and it works but after ride for few miles the engine light check . VSC. TRAC OFF are on. Do you what wrong with that or do I need to re program again or how to erase the program I just did. Car still running ok except those light are on, my remote are exactly as your. Reprogram all your key fobs I hope this helps and I wish I had an answer to your problem

Question: I have one key fob currently working fine. I just picked up 2 more off of eBay and want to program them. When I do this, thinking of your end comment in the video, will all THREE then need to have that double-hold-down thing done to program them, or just the 2 new ones? Just want to be super-clear before I set out to program them. Thanks again for another money-saving video!!
Yes. You will need to reprogram all three at the same time. but as you see in the video it doesn't take much time at all to do.

good video ... I have a 2005 Toyota Sienna LE. in the video you state hold down lock n unlock for 2 secs and then you say press lock but u r pressing the slider door button? is that the sequence to program the slider?
I never noticed this. I thought I was pressing the lock button, but yes you're right on the second and third remote I did press the sliding door button and it did work, so yes you can press the sliding door or the lock .
Will the side doors button and the hatch in the back button work? Thx
my van didn't have the power hatch, but yes my remotes worked with the sliding doors. Some people have commented that this didn't work for them. I don't know why. However it appears that the vast majority had success with the steps in this video.
So I bought 2 remotes from Discount Keyless.... went in to program mode but wouldn’t pair with. Y remote.... just ordered one from USA Remote... I hope this works

No. When you reprogram you must reprogram them all at the same time.

You need to have all 3 remotes present when programming.
Now both remotes lock and unlock and panic, but none of the doors work. I have two sliding doors and the rear lift gate that don't work. My original used to work now it's been reprogrammed and only locks work. What do I do?
Tried it again, it worked. The trick is to hold the two (lock & unlock) buttons down for ONE & a HALF seconds then hold the lock button on the remote down for TWO seconds to fully program the whole remote.
Try new batteries and program your original remote first then the others. This should work, and based on the comments of numerous other watchers that this process does work. Also try toggling the power doors and lift gate option on/off at your dash. perhaps some how the van placed them into manual mode instead of power mode.

Your back sliders are not opening up because with the new remote fobs, you need to hit the unlock button three times to unlock all the doors in your van. The sliders are not opening up because your slider doors are locked. Took me a while, but I figured it out.

from where did you buy remote? just bought a used 2005 Sienna and one remote is missing.
bought them on amazon or eBay i can't recall.
It doesn't work on my sienna 2010!! Cause after close and open the 2nd time must keep key in, close door, ignition on and off 2 times and remove the key and the lock will close and open , then press the 2 button for 2 sec. And press lock, open and close door and the control get programmed.
Does it work for a 2017 sienna?
