For those curious about #5, yes, Oprah did work in news earlier in her career. She worked for a bit at WLAC in Nashville, and later co-anchored the 6pm news at WJZ in Baltimore.

I liked Dan Rather in my youth. Sadly, the #1 came true.

No. He didn't make the story up. The documents that were used to report that Bush's military service was a sham were not the original copies (which at the time they thought they were). But it was later proved that the documents were not falsified & were legitimate.
