@rgurala747 thank you! Were pretty happy with the quality as well. We use the canon 5d mark II with mainly a Zeiss 50mm lens. Editing on final cut pro and doing occasional graphics in after effects.
A BEC is usually a feature of the electronic speed control (ESC), the battery elimination circut (BEC) takes power from the motor battery, typically 6V or higher and steps it down to around 5V and delivers this to the reciever and servos. This "eliminates" the need for a second battery of the right voltage just for the receiver/servos. While ESCs and BECs are usually combined into one unit, it is possible to buy them as seperate components.
@furspiel I think it's advertised as a heli esc. But I bought six of them and I've been using them in many different planes that I own. The only thing that may need adjusted is the timing, depending on your motor's KV rating. You can program it with the Turnigy programming card.
@tehlump We don't like to refer to Josh Scott (Newbie) as dumb or stupid (that's just mean)... we'd rather refer to him as naively confident. :-) The number one request we get is to let him fly. it'll happen... it just needs to be the right time.
@tehlump My earlier response was an attempt at sarcastic humor. I wasn't calling you mean. I hope I didn't make you feel bad. None of us took offense to your comment. We're having a lot of fun with the show and we appreciate eveyone's input. You are right though… the director is mean! ;-)
@OghamTheBold We're planning on doing a segment on just landing soon. Josh's tight approach looks impressive on video... but even more impressive in person! That guy is an amazing pilot. It was only his second time flying that plane.
Josh, This and the larger Hangar 9 Taylorcraft are actually based roughly off of an F21. I didn't know you were involved with full scale. I love the spinner on this one. Overall great job on the review.
@flitetest thats great. Thank you for considering my suggestion. cant wait for the review. (remember a review tells boath good and bad sides of a item)
Love T-Crafts. Did my first X-Country in a BC-12. My dad and I later had a DCO-65, N49040. I think it's still flying. Maybe if I can find some nice plans, I'll build one; paint it the same as 040.
It would have been nice if you covered the build, and any issues encountered. I am just now getting around to building mine and have run into several small issues, such as the wing panels not being constructed correctly (W19 installed up-side down on one wing). Wheel pants needed to be opened up so the tires don't rub. Many missing screws in the kit. It would have been nice if you included the red spinner part number as well. That said, I am looking forward to flying a balsa plane again. This is a great looking model! The slow short landing you guy's did on gravel was impressive. Most if my bind and fly foam planes are heavier, faster, and require more runway to land.
great channel, i subscribed. You should do a review of fpv equipment and tipps where to place the camera. One Wireless system ( high quality) One stationary system (high quality)
ok, the way you put it originally made you sound concerned that they were advertising for hobbyzone, who were one of the only people sponsoring them at the time I believe. I see what you mean now :)
Have plans for a 1941 Taylorcraft 1/7 scale (electric power) that I am going to build soon. My father owned and flew a full scale Taylorcraft that I rode in as a passenger in about 15 years ago. I grew up not far from Alliance, OH where the later Taylorcrafts were built.
Great quality video fellers! I was wondering what dslr settings are you guys using to get the super clear flight video? any help would be great thanks BB
Mate, forget Indian jones movies! Your video looks stunningly vibrant!! Do you mind telling me the camera and further Edit softwares used in filming please?
Hector Montes Just get the horizon hobby micro FPV camera (www.horizonhobby.com/product/cameras---fpv/fpv--first-person-view/cameras--1/ultra-micro-fpv-camera-and-video-transmitter-spmva1100) and an appropriate battery (www.horizonhobby.com/150mah-1s-37v-45c-lipo-battery-eflb1501s45) assuming you have fat sharks or some other FPV platform you should be good to go with that camera setup, or you could just slap a gopro in there if you don't plan on putting an FPV system on there. Hope that helps.
I love videos with josh Scott in them. How close are you all to the cinci Ohio river i75. Cause I live in this area and would love to come visit. I own a brand new flyzone beaver and afraid to fly it lol.
Hey guys I love ur videos only one thing I c a safety issue I think u should address when plugging in plane battery u r way to close to prop if it for some unkown reason were to spin it would have cut ur main artery, address this in your videos thanks Ricthedic in NJ
hi, i have a question would you happen to know what those wings struts are made of i have a 25 size decathlon that has the same wingspan and i want those wing struts for it please respond and help me out!! thanks!
Hey Jack, Lets change the bald one's name to Big Guy, BG for short. Just don't tell him and see how long it takes him to finger it out. Snicker...........pp
those guys just match perfectly. who thinks that one of them is dumb or something just does not get the show. thist is a typical buddy-stile comedy with a technical base. hard to get if anyone is dumb, really!
This is my favorite Flight Test episode. I miss this style of the show..
Agreed.
Old flitetest is best flitetest

The fact that you have humor mixed with facts makes these videos very entertaining as well as informative. I think they're great!
So much maturation/complicity/friendship has happend since this episode, its obvious !
Congrats guys
@kingalex711 Keep watching... there are many more episodes to help you decide :)

Love you guys. Love the comedy and the reviews but it's interesting that some people just don't get it. Keep em coming guys.
This was my first flite test episode... Now I'm getting into the hobby and the show. :D
Great review guys, don't think I ever saw anyone hand launch a Taylorcraft before!
@tehlump We don't like to refer to Josh Scott (Newbie) as dumb or stupid (that's just mean)... we'd rather refer to him as naively confident. :-)

Great production guys... really fun to watch.
@Zagrebfico That's a great idea! Josh (The Bix) and I are both avid FPV guys. We will definitely take this suggestion. Thank you!
The production here is amazing.
Shows how good Stonekap directed/produced these episodes, and the two Joshes chemistry.
i love the scale modifications on the second T-craft!
9:29
"alright josh you ready to fly it?
"Yes"
"We'll too bad"
Lol
Great video guys, keep up the great work...look forward to seeing Josh fly :)
2:51 its the famous beep from the intro!
Josh,

Awesome review. You guys do a great job and work well together. Dont change a thing!
Hey folks... Impressive videos and very nice reviews... I am happy to see you guys providing unbiased reviews... Cool...
@pete2778 Ha! Josh realized this a couple days later. By then it was too late. I said that's ok... nobody noticed. ;-)
@flitetest thats great. Thank you for considering my suggestion. cant wait for the review. (remember a review tells boath good and bad sides of a item)
BEAUTIFUL SCALE WORK!! Duane Cole should be on the side
Great stuff guys - top quality :)

It was a Ford Tri-Motor, guys. Great video as always, though!.
Nice landing

Bixler, it actually wasn't a DC-3 It was a Ford Tri-Motor :) Speaking of which, it would be AWESOME if you guys could review an RC Ford Tri-Motor!

@FliteTest i hope you guys are letting josh fly more now, i had a giggle, but poor josh looked cut deep :P

Man this looks like something i may have to look into in the near future. It sort of looks like a Super cub crossed with a C182
BOnitos recuerdos, de sus inicios.
Your going to have to practice putting it in and out! 😂😂 2:39
Great quality video fellers! I was wondering what dslr settings are you guys using to get the super clear flight video? any help would be great thanks BB

In Indiana Jones it wasn't a dc3 it was ford trimoter
Archie Scriven I was about to comment the same thing.

@@kiddenme1 Ok then.
J.B is so upfront blunt with J.S
Everything he says. "no you can not do this" so funny.... Poor guy! Haha
why dont you put landing gear on top of the plan and see if you can land it inverted :) sounds like a slap bet !!!!!
i have one on the way ... whoo hoo!
Putting a camera in the cokcpit would be a great idea lol
What's the twin-engine plane seen in 'chase' view at 9:01?
ahhhhhh Josh is so mean to Josh.. hahaha
hi, i have a question would you happen to know what those wings struts are made of i have a 25 size decathlon that has the same wingspan and i want those wing struts for it please respond and help me out!! thanks!
That is a beauty :-)
hey I was wondering if this would be a good first plane, I've been on G4.5 for about 2 yrs now and never crash unless I do it on purpose.
I love this on these earlier videos. "I can do x." "No, you cannot do x."
Ah, that makes me laugh.
Could you do a review of the L-19 bird dog from HK?
i love your videos guys..funny
9:30 so harsh
......we did break the sound barrier
why can I not find this anymore?
Trevali Mec because this was 7 years ago
+FliteTest What is the total cost for this airplane including all of the electronics?
what camera do you use to film fpv on the Taylorcraft?
Why not put a wood prop on the taylorctaft to give a more realistic look?
Dennis G I put a wood one on mine looks a lot better.
Arent wood more expensive
would you recommend this for a first balsa plane?
i love building my own plans,But i,m just getting starting.I,m having trouble with the wiring matching the recever and servos to my remote? Any hents.
Ha, 'alright josh ready to fly it? Yup! Well to bad!' Trololo

Where can I get a talorcraft 450????
How long can you fly with a 3S 2200 mAh 20C LiPo?

It's a beautiful plane
looks very semulor to the j3 cub
I saw a yellow Pontiac Aztec in the driveway (7:05)... Hm.
Can it be used as a tow for a glider
I recovered mine with a WWII invasion stripe theme.
My dad has a decathlon wich is N651DM
Which ones beemer.is that?
Ola! tenho um taylorgraft -450 ,bonito aviao, mas um pouco leve, bom praticar voos pela manha, sem ventos!!
abraços!
It was a ford tri-motor.
I'm new to this so can anyone explain- the park 480 motor comes 910kv or 1020kv. Whats kv and what would be best for this plane?
My guess is that Josh B is an ATP?
those guys just match perfectly.
who thinks that one of them is dumb or something just does not get the show.
thist is a typical buddy-stile comedy with a technical base. hard to get if anyone is dumb, really!
@codyputman challenge accepted! :D
