me too, I was pleasantly surprised when she started talking about it and even confessed it to Ace.

The curse states that she can't act upon her feelings for Ace. Talking about her feelings isn't part of the curse. That's why glass breaks before they can kiss. Kissing would be acting on those feelings. Therefore he would die.
