These older macbooks are such a weird niche nowadays tbh. Had one with the exact configuration in the family for 9 years now, still works like brand new and gets the job done, which is what makes these older machines so much better than their windows counterparts from back in the day and even better than cheap ass windows laptops today. Well built, reliable, and sleek. Classic Apple days lol. These were never that powerful, but goddamn, they had that apple chef's kiss reliability
You can run Netflix, TH-cam, other movie websites without a problem. This doesn't run the new apps that were introduced on the iPhone/Andoids, or at least I haven't figured out how to run those. This is a really good computer for the money because you can find these for under $200 now, maybe even under $120. This is a basic computer, there are certain things that have been upgraded each year since this computer first entered the scene, but hey -- this is only 10 years old. This was the cutting edge MacBook Air the year that it entered the market... it is still a great computer. You will need to update the charger, batteries possibly. The battery power loses the ability to hold the charge for hours. This battery lasts under 2 hours without having to recharge...which is the major complaint that I have. I assume that if you update the battery that this will solve that problem, but you will still not find that these last over 20 hours like the newest models in the stores. A Mac tech guy told me that you really need to find a newer laptop - after the year 2023 if you want to add software that requires a new operating system. However, if you are just using this for basic computer needs, you are ok -- as long as you are not needing to use this for long hours with the current battery power. If you are using software that you upload directly from a website, no problem...normally. You need to research what systems your computer software programs are compatible with before purchasing any Mac, no matter what year it is.

I owned one of these idiots from when it was brand new up until recently (it belongs to my brother now). A real workhorse laptop that gets the job done. Not necessarily well but done nonetheless. Currently own a 15" MBA with the same specs as my 2014 Air storage and ram wise at least.
I knew it that one was outdated and should not be bought from anywhere nowadays frankly theirs black girl on campus with me that obviously goes to the same college as me that we were clearly having small talk she has this same exact MacBook but the funny part was you know not funny but funny just a year ago and what was the highlight that was the condescending sad part about it is every time she was trying to finish her document it would keep saying to login in her Apple ID and of course she had to and right then too she was but it kept on popping that up 💀

i got this for 50€ im loving it. Though just frustrated cause i can't install any office apps.. Although, wps works fine so 🙃
