It's really interesting to hear the story of Creed from the marketing point of view now that we know the truth behind the actual history 😮, regardless I still love both Royal Oud (Julien Rasquinet) and Green Irish Tweed (Pierre Bourdon). In addition, knowing how early the 2 scents were released in the 2 perfumers career demonstrates just how talented both of them are.
For me I always loved the story; but more and more there are questions being raised around it. But secondly, I love their fragrances....so even if the story falls apart the fragrances still stands strong. Great to hear from you @WuZi👊🏼
Great video and I do hope your channel grow!! I have 3 bottles of Creed and I love them. I have a newer batch of aventus and I use to think I wasn't getting any sillage or longevity (I went nose blind after a few hours) until my wife and I went over a friend's house she called my wife days later and told her that she could still smell my fragrance on the furniture and she raved about how great I smelled!
Awesome story! I love it!! I hear a number of people lament that Aventus isn’t what it use to be. And whilst that might be right for them, I find that for me this fragrance packs a punch. Thank you Martin, great to hear from you. I have a lot of Creeds in my collection and I still get great mileage out of them (both sillage and longevity). In truth I can’t compare to anytime prior to 2017 (when I first got into niche) so maybe they packed a lot more punch back then? Creed is not Creed anymore! Sorry to say but their fragrances are a shadow of what they used to be with all the hundreds of batch variations with Aventus you will never get 2 bottles that smell the same. Their prices went up and bottles got smaller. A large company named Black Rock I think owns them now. I can't support their mission anymore because the art of perfumery is not #1 MONEY is and it really shows in their watered-down fragrances.
Hey @Rob great to hear from you. Because I’ve only jumped into niche in 2017 I’m not able to compare to any of their earlier batches. Having said that, I’m still impressed with the stuff that I’ve purchased and yes, you’re right in saying that they’re not cheap. Thanks again @Rob for jumping into the conversation and sharing👊🏽
Hi Rob I respect your point of view, I just want to clarify a few things. First of all, the Brand is still owed by the Creed family, with major shares owned by the luxury Fontaine Group. Secondly, the 'batch issue' is a placebo response to people experiencing scent fatigue. The concentrations have not chaged at all, the raw materials and maturation processes have not changed in terms of volume or time. I dare say you spray fragrance around your neck? If so, you may have developed scent fatigue as a consequence of that. Our noses process more than 1 billion odourant molecules a day, so something that is virtually next to your nose day in and out will become less sensitised by the nose over time, as the scent receptors in our brain have to shut off fimiliar notes to continue to be able to identify billions of others.I will ask Marcelo if we can do a segment on this phenomenon.Hope this helps.

However a close friend recently purchased the new Aventus (with the metal cap) and for me this one seemed to come out of the gate stronger than my 2019 version. In the end I had to wash it off because the cloying sent give me a headache. I sent the sample back to the seller yesterday. I have been to the Creed store in Las Vegas and tried their sample and I’ve been unimpressed. Any ideas on what caused the smell I encountered? Was it ambergris or one of the masks they use? Anyway it was a thoroughly unpleasant odor. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

@@OsAbliNgin911 People was always complaint about the performance in Aventus ,even with 2012 batches..
I own 19p11 batch and last on my skin 12-14hrs easily every time I wear it with a strong projection for 4-5hrs....I'm from Greece and most batches of Aventus performs very good under the greek weather (Especially during spring time)...On the other hand most of the Creed fragrances they not perform well in a very cold climate...The notes are hiding in cold...I also get the same longevity with Green Irish Tweed ( 2020 & 2021 batches)...But GIT has a superior sillage once sprayed in the room (I can smell it strongly in my room 14hrs later after i spray it)...So far the best Aventus batch i had was from 2013(both in smell and performance)(Batch 13U or 13W something)..
Aventus quality drops since 2014 - 2015(and i don't mean the performance..I still remember when i first opened my first 500ml flacon 2015 batch, and immediately sensed a particular note that cheapened the fragrance and it wasn't present in my 2012 and 2013 batches).. Since then Aventus was more light weight in it's composition...
Sorry as an American I see through the bullshit the French took Creed to the next level the English influence is practically irrelevant
