Loved it! I have been 38 years and have a small gardening business designing small ned areas and containers. I've not seen anyone recently explain this process so well from digging the hole deeper and amending with organic matter and back filling with a combo of compost added back to original soil. His explanation of decision and the root system was spot on as well! He is definitely one to watch for the best way to garden.
I commend you and Jerry for what a successful business you have created. You should feel so proud providing such beauty to the world. Thanks for sharing!
Jenny your nursery is so nice!! Really!! We don’t have anything like it around. Your local shoppers should feel so spoiled because they are. Now. Onto me! Lol I’m hurting today after planting my behind off this weekend working on my red, white, and blue landscape plantings. I still want more ideas. I’ve used begonias, petunias, sunpatients, and salvia. This is how I’m coping with upcoming deployment. Need ideas!!!
31:05 oh, July and August were prime hunting season for Japanese beetles, so I'd say my chickens and I were their natural predators😋; they are beautiful, but catastrophic to foliage! Each year it seemed like they found something else they could munch on! I found planting a huge pot of geraniums where the chickens liked to lay helped the issue tremendously!
I love watching your videos and have done so for a while and just saw that I have not subscribed to your amazing channel 😮😮..You and Jerry are so talented and your videos are professional 😊..wish you guys were in Orlando 😊..Maybe not my husband 😂😂😂but I would be there every day 😂😂..Thanks for sharing your nursery with us..May God’s blessings continue in your life and business..
Good Morning Jenny and Jerry, I love your garden tours. Everything is blooming and really showing it’s beautiful flowers 🌸, happy GardeningwithCreekside...🌹🌸🌺🌼
Love your shirt girl! Where did you get it? And of course loving my daily dose of your gardening expertise! This video was torture though, so wish I lived near you guys! You have everything !
Hey Jenny - The calidoras seem to be hardy in southern zones 7b +. I am in the deep south (Alabama) Zone 8a and they are a vigorous and reliable perennial down here. Plant them about 4 inches deeper than they are in the pot, and mulch well. They love water. Regal shields is also a reliable returner down here in the landscape. It is not quite as vigorous as calidora, and returns a week or two later but grows easily to 4-5feet tall and wide. It is also good about putting out offshoots. Regal shields seems to want a little less water (NOT at all drought tolerant) as calidora but not by much. Mulch well! :)
❤ always fun to "shop" vicariously with you. 😂 now if you can tell the folks at PW that we need a supertunia the same orange color as that Dreamsicle superbells! ❤ I gasped when I saw you reach for & I thought for a split second that it was a Supertunia.😅
Thank you for clarifying for people. There is no such thing as deer proof. Working in a nursery I always had to remind people. If they hungry enough or wanting they’ll go after something. But thankfully they’ll ideally leave most of those resistant plants usually alone.
Good morning, Jenny ☕️ Everything is looking so good! Thanks for the reminder to cut back my Hybiscus! I planted 6 of the Edge of Night for a hedge last year so I’m super excited for their first year. 🌺Have a Blessed Day 😊🐶
Beautiful nursery! Would love to visit sometime. I’m quite a distance away. You have such a great selection. I wish our area would have a proven winner supplier. They have a few at different places but it’s just a minimal selection.
When I lived in NC I was so close to so many little nurseries and greenhouses. Gulley's in downtown Southern Pines and Big Bloomers in Raeford are top notch! I'm in Ohio now, and I don't think people are quite as into gardening here... Every tree in the city has been replaced with a Bradford pear. 😡
@@RealBradMiller those stink in the spring when they bloom but at least they have some blooms on them for a while. I live in the ozarks so it’s pretty here but we usually get pummeled with tons of spring storms…tornado alley🤷♀️
@@NursemomB853 Yes, I hate them, the flowers are brown longer than they are in bloom, and the way they grow makes them very susceptible to ice damage! Hope you get some great plants and relaxation in this Spring!! 🤗🤞🙂👩⚕️

Wish I lived near you, I would be there every week getting all the goodies. And what a Godsend...I was just researching a good potting soil for my Greenstalk. Going to Ace Hardware to find those Black Gold products you showed. I have all the Biotone and other Proven Winners goodies. Finally found a great Prroven Winner grower near me for the beautiful PW plants. Love your cute flowery top! We have a similar style in cute clothing.. Have a great week! Thanks for showing and explaining all the wonderful gardening goodies! I appreciate all you do!
How I wish you were in the Northern Neck of Virginia! The 2 places I bought plants retired😢. A few places sell a limited selection of plants in the spring. The nurseries are all commercial growers. Lowes and Walmart are our others sources.
What would you recommend for window boxes that are shaded most of the day and then get west, hot end of the day sun?? I have such a hard time figuring out the perfect combination!
I have a very diverse garden. Loads of plants both native and non. Pollinators and butterflies and hummingbirds enjoy non natives in case you weren’t aware. Happy gardening.
Well, how disappointing ultra black gold is not sold anywhere in this area.. Really enjoy your videos. Tthe ground this house is planted on has the worst dirt, Plants that have never failed me have failed here. I made a list of what you have used, and talked on, so I'm going to try your tips and see what happens..
Watching from Eastern NC zone 8a. Loved the Dreamscles last year. Not ready for gardening here yet. In fact we got a frost advisory tonight. Poor grocery store hanging pots. Hopefully they will be covered enough by the overhang to survive.😮
What was the name of the systemic that you put around your plants to ward off Japanese beetles. I didn’t quite catch the name and took a picture of you holding the bottle but can’t read it. Help❤
In a video you posted the other day you said you don’t use landscape fabric how do you keep the weeds away. I don’t want to use fabric but cardboard barely works. Helppppp. Lol thank you for all you teach us.
I either pull them by hand or spray them. Typically we only spray in spaces where there are no or few plants (along the gravel or big spaces), and then i hand pull the weeds when they are small and in the flower beds.
Morning Jenny, love the tour it was very informative and I enjoy watching your videos each day. Your shirt looks so gorgeous, do you recall where you got it from?
I noticed that not only is Jenny good at growing flowers and plants, she’s becoming quite the stylist with ensuring she matches her clothes with the plants!😂❤️🇨🇦
I know this is your tour vid. love it, giving my ideas for my beds. But had a question (zone 5 here) I use all the Espoma products to fertilized my gardens. I was able to start fertilizing and Im having a problem keeping my female rough collie out of these beds. Our boy collie puppy doesn't care about this stuff, he just wants to mark things now. Im wonder if your female dog goes crazy for this and what you do keep her from eating it. We do water it in for a long time. But that nose smells and she wants to dig even a few days later. Any advice. We dont like to use synthetic since its know to cause cancer in dogs but recently found out to much of organic can be toxic to dogs.
I've had osteospermum a couple times (not proven winners brands) and they don't stay vertical, is that normal? They sort of start weeping down over the edge of whatever I put them in... 🌾
Good morning, Jenny. Hoping that you had a wonderful Easter celebration! We struggle with catmint here in z8 NC Sandhills. Do you think that our soil might be too acidic? I've tried Walkers Low and Cats pajamas. Thanks.
I’m wondering if it is struggling due to your sandy soil 🤔. Is the water draining too fast for the plant? The bed here in front of the greenhouse gets lots of water due to runoff and the soil is very thick so it retains a lot of the moisture. If you try nepeta again I would suggest amending your soil with a lot of rich compost to help retain the water.
@@GardeningwithCreekside Good point. We do have some drip irrigation in those areas but maybe that's not enough. I think I will try a top dressing with Land and Sea around the plants that have survived and see if they have a better season. Thanks, Jenny!
I love the Osteos but it seems as if they're beautiful when I get them and even though I continue to fertilize and water them they quit blooming and I cannot get them to bloom again.
