    Thank you again for the inspiration. Ones in a while, I check out your videos. I’m originally from Germany. Lived 14 plus years in Canada and I am already 3 years in Panama. Just started to build a bigger dome “kinda” house. Diameter is around 32 feet / 9.80 meter. The original idea was with aircrete. But with no reliable postal service in Panama, using forwarding companies is very, very expensive. Get a kit from Domgaia send to Panama via UPS or DHL would eat all savings to make a building with aircrete. So I decided to go with local made 6” concrete blocks. Another issue was the district office here. Concrete blocks / steel or pre-fab concrete walls are approved. No aircrete material. And they are very strict with what to use or not. Exemption is one thing. As long I stay under 80 m2 for the construction, I don’t need an architect for the drawings of the plan, no drawings for electricity in the house. So I’m not sure about the roof. There are only certain materials available in Panama. Square metal sheets. Everting is square. Making a roof construction with concrete blocks like “Steve’s original dome house”? I thing I have to figure that out by going ahead with my project. Your videos are always an inspiration!

      Getting through building departments can be a challenge but we are now working with an engineer and are very close to having some designs that can be stamped which could help in your case. We do ship our foam generators world wide and shouldn't be too bad to get it to Panama but if you contact us we can get a quote for you. I think it would be worth it over concrete blocks as you'll also get insulation.

    • @holgermessner851
      @holgermessner851 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @Domegaia I'm getting the blocks for 65 cents each. Paid for 1536 blocks $1065, including delivery. Foam generator would be one thing. But the right detergent would be a hit & miss here. The district office is the problem here in my case. 10 miles west, and I wouldn't have a problem. "Señior Holger. Sorry. Your lot is not in my district. And San Carlos is a different delicate issue..." - That's what other home inspectors saying about the San Carlos district office. - Just an update. Finally. After 16 months of waiting, I got the green light. Paid my permit fee. And waiting another month to receive my documents in paper. Had to get another engineer involved who knows the laws correctly, to talk to the San Carlos district office. That helped me a lot.

    Did you track how many "man hours" went into the domes? The material cost is very good, but without labor it is hard to see the true cost of construction.

      It depends on the climate you are in. In the tropics they can just be screens and in colder climates you can use regular thermal pain windows. Often people will use a retangular window in the center with a curved on the top and bottom. These can be ordered pretty easily.

    • @domegaia
      @domegaia  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Very true. Hajjar has another building with a kitchen. For the closet, he has recently built a bamboo closet and shelving right under the loft bed in the 3rd dome.

    • @domegaia
      @domegaia  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      We now build the domes using Aircrete which provides insulation value in the material. We've built them as far north as Nova Scotia Canada and they do great.

    Cindercrete is by far the best building material on the planet Cindercrete is a mixture of cinder cement and water mixed and poured into a set of reusable forms walls are poured from 12"to 24" thick Cindercrete is fireproof termite proof rust rot and mold proof non toxic and has a high R value and good sound attenuation solid poured walls means no critters can live in your walls Cindercrete can be built for a fraction of the cost and time and cinder is the only local natural building material on the island
    Take care Ray

    I am very intrigued by your system! I live in Colorado at 8500 ft and the temperature often fluctuates daily 40 degrees from the low to the high. Also snow is heavy all winter. Will this work in my climate?

    • @michaelabe4827
      @michaelabe4827 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I am not sure in terms of the temperature fluctuation, but I have taken the workshop with Hajar while back and these domes are fine in cold weather, i belive they use aircrete in Sweden, if i remmber correctly. Aircrete has very different quality than concrete, it’s light, warm and if you make the walls thick, quite insulating… so yes it works for cold climates, just not sure what effect would the fluctuation have if any..

    I pray I can do this for my children. We were exiled from Florida over four years ago. Yes, exiled because I exposed a baby market that stole my first born son at birth and switched him with another lady's stillborn. During my investigations i found myself in an organ harvesting scheme. We are survivors of the human trafficking and now have land of our own. Please share any advice with a reply. Ty for all the knowledge you posted. It helps. Now i pray i have the strength to do this for my children. Bless all of you.

    I want to buy land in Arizona and would like three dome domiciles. to be built on the property. What would be the cost and time to get it done?

    • @domegaia
      @domegaia  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There are many factors in this and not something that is easy to answer. You first need to work out a desing and then you can do a material estimate. Finishings will also be a big part of the cost and can range widely depending on what you want.

    I have land in Belize that is currently boat access only, so materials will need to be brought to the site by boat or barge. Is this possible to do? Do you know of anyone in Belize that builds homes like this?

    • @domegaia
      @domegaia  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      This is possible. It's a lot less material to bring in than building with concete. We have not build in Belize but we have in other countries in South America and it's quite possible some of our students have build in Belize. We have a workshop coming up in Costa Rica if you are interested.
