I never thought i'd see catiua wearing jeans in a medieval scenario 😅😅😅😅😅 but overall the i.a. made a excellent job , i've been playing this game for more than 50 hours by now and those art made it feel like a whole new game that i never played before
It's a long journey, these characters stay in our hearts and it gives a huge void when it ends, this is a sign of how good the adventure was. I totally understand you!
Definitely some of the better AI art I've seen-to-date. The "polish" on the armor and facial complexion on the younger models is still a little jarring, but it's improving. Xapan is a lowkey favorite of mine, definitely gives off the mercenary vibe of being an enemy in one battle and an ally in the next. The AI absolutely referenced Sean Connery as Ramirez from the Highlander movie for Azelstan.
Thanks, I had to do a combination of MJ and photoshop for some more specific details on some characters, but I'm pretty pleased with the result. You totally got it right with the Ramire reference, congratulations!
Loved this one, big improvement. Canopus winning IMO. Some oddities: - Certain characters' hair being turned white, like Vyce, Cistina, Olivya. Doesn't look bad though. - Leonar and Jeunan look a bit young. Should look about 10 years older IMO. - Hobyrim being based on his elderly looking sprite is hilarious, but would've been cool to see a more authentic younger version too.
Hey! I'm glad you liked it! -The hair was the hardest part, because I had to choose which one to follow: the color of the game's sprite? The color in the portrait of the original version? The portrait of the remake? The conceptual arts? They're all different in pretty much every character, so I decided to take some creative leeway in that regard. It brought individuality to them in my opinion! -I agree, that was another problem I had: following the age described or using the image as a reference? Jeunam seems to be around 40...maybe they aged more in that period because of the wars? He's very powerful, that's why you can't play with him (and neither do the Templars)! But glad you found a way! I really liked the way he was in this video, I think it captures his presence very well
Denam...seems a hair young. I like how he's dressed in all white at this point to symbolize his idealism and innocence at this time. Catiua is spot on. Yes, she's played by sameface AI lady but the role fits her. I like her pose, which is both confident but slightly guarded. She's the mother hen of the trio. Vyce...man you can't even hide the antagonism here. I know he's the Lancer at this point, but dark armor with light hair. And he's named Vyce/Vice? Yeah, even if I hadn't played this game, I could see this character's trajectory. In the name of Sailor Mercury, "Go bleach your roots, creep!" Lans Hamilton is shiny and blue (or at least his armor is trimmed with blue), and the dark hair is a nice touch. Dark hair makes him stand out more. Canopus is an interesting case. See, I knew someone who facially, at least, was perfect match for the Canopus portrait in the remake, so when I see Tactics Ogre Canopus, I see him. At the same time, that portrait clashes with the sprite and this rendition looks closer to that. Maybe in a week I'd be going ga-ga over the muscles, but they just look over the top to me. Warren looks like the other Dumbledore (I forgot his name) from the Harry Potter movies. He also has muted colors in his robes compared with the vibrant colors of the other Zenobians. Mirdyn and Gildas are okay...but I have to wonder how much of a pain it would be to keep their "bibs" while when filming. Ronwey looks very similar to his sprite. Donnalto...I am going to heavily disagree with this interpretation. His hat is too small and he's too weak-looking. I've thought of him as a Max von Sydow's Father Merrin from the Exorcist or Bruce French's Father Lonigan from Passions. This guy always seemed tall to me, not this short, small guy. This isn't poorly done, and I guess if you disregard the portrait it works...maybe. I'll say this, if I were a ghost and I saw this guy came to play ghostbuster, I'd probably blow and knock him over. Leonar is okay...but a bit generic. Voltare...again he's a little younger than I expected. Sarah is okay...I see what you tried to do with the hat...maybe if it were a different color it would work better, but she looks like she stepped out of an 80s movie. Nybeth looks more like I expected him to look based on his sprite than this portrait. Moldova's outfit is simply beautiful. Can I be a necroprentice please? I just want the dress and the veil.

Berda and Obda look as if they are straight out of an 80s movie. They scare me. Interesting choice with Arycelle. She looks like she's wearing a gown and cloak, but then again, in an 80s version she might wear that. At least she's got that 80s hair. Here's what's weird about Folcurt. My first instinct was that he was little young, but then I looked at his age and he IS only supposed to be 24. Plus, AI gave him not only a unique face but a unique build and unique armor. Did AI interpret the character better than the portrait artist? Bayin in those dark robes...seems like it's an AI thing to desaturate the colors. I'm iffy on Bayin, especially since it already made Warren muted and I'd hope there'd be more color in some of the other mages. Now for Cistina...this is pure WIN. Even with the portrait art, I could never understand why Cistina was running around in a poofy yellow dress-robe thing. That rendition shows the balance between armor and softness well and doesn't look odd. If anything, AI made her look realistic. Xapan is another WIN. He doesn't look bad in the game, but this image shows him with a more friendly demeanor, a guy you'd really want to fight beside. Ravness's armor looks great. I'm surprised it made her armor and underlying garments dark, though, especially since she's one of the few who could become a "White Knight." After seeing Cassandra's robes, I think I can see the reasoning in keeping a lot of the "protagonist" mages with dark robes. The Necroprentices and Nybeth have colors, and inversion of the trope that "dark clothing is bad." All three of them are highly visible and highly dangerous.
Wow, it's great to see you back here! I absolutely LOVE your comments on these videos. Regarding images, the AI I use doesn't take reference images and generate something realistic, the tool I use creates an image absolutely from scratch according to my commands. So the better I get at creating commands the way I want the image to look, the better and more detailed it will become. In my opinion, this is very evident in the sequence of videos, getting better and better as I also improved in creating commands. In the case of Folcurt, for example, I imagined the armor to be more rustic and different because they are a rebel militia. I also discovered better ways to create less standardized faces and hair, this differentiated some characters much better (but still keeping the 80s as inspiration, which is something I really like in live action medieval content). Some characters have more details as I clearly like them more, as in the case of Cistina for example.@@nangbaby

While he's not cute, he does look more like "Hollywood Ugly" than actually ugly/ Tamuz and Chamos both look young...but for this fan casting, I can get behind it. In Chamos's chase, it kind of works overall because with his AI robes, he really does look like a young man who started on this journey. Phaesta...that armor. Wow. A layered collar. This is almost too good for a named generic. Merrik has an "Oh, no, what have I got myself into?" vibe going on. Oh, Cerya! So much red, and I'm surprised how her outfit was rendered as a gown. Of the four sisters, I really expected her to be the most battle-armored up. It's not wrong. It just unexpected. Oelias is a clever inversion. Whereas the Necroprentices and even Nybeth were all brightly-colored, her clerical attire is dark (just like the exorcists), but dark is not evil. Why did AI make Dievold hot? He's supposed to look like a grim, stolid, and undead menace but instead he looks handsome. AI has turned me necro. Shame! Hoybryim looks a little stout, but is pretty accurate to his sprite. I'm surprised AI got this close. Hektor also got quite the glow-up. He's one of those infamous bosses to hate and yet he comes off as nice looking instead of the generic appearance. I do like that hue of armor. Jeunan is great. For some reason I always associate a snowy background with him, and all that greenery seems to be wrong...but the likeness is right. The armor is definitely superb. Occione is cool and about as close as you can get with AI (right now) to what she should look like. Xeebos...starts showing where the limits of AI come in. He's ugly inside and out with the roughness to prove it, but this just makes him look round, average, and soft. But AI makes up for it with Balbatos. Dare I say, I like this even more than the PSP/Reborn portrait. The in-game art is generic, but this guy you created is someone I want to punch in the face! Olivya is very good. Is she wearing a hood? If so, great touch, AI! Aw...Daddy Prancet is so cute! No, I'm not talking about the baby. Doragula...hm, this is nice, but the dark armor without accents or a cape almost seem to foreshadow the less than savory aspects of the characater a little too early. Then again, given that there are dark clad good guys and light clad bad guys, though, maybe playing the visuals straight isn't a bad option. The queen is perfection! Rodrick is okay. I really have nothing to say. Mannaflora...I see what you're going for and it's not bad, since you only have one image and AI has its limits...but one thing the game makes portait clear is how much distress she was in. Here she almost looks serene and hopeful at the life glowing within. Maybe it's two sides of the same coin, though. Sherri...is sensational, just like the late wrestler. I like that gown, that staff, that background (if only her stage were flat and not full of pits). Mrueva not only looks like his sprite but that is a wonderful rendition of what his costume should look like in a movie production. AI understood the assignment! I really love that piece on the upper part of his torso. Gotta quit before this gets erased!
