I love that she trusted herself and went in a completely different direction from her past albums , I love the new album more than any of her previous ones . Great interview. Camila is lovely as ever and C,XOXO is a great project from top to bottom.
It's true about her detractors. Pop music fans love to dogpile their new target’s album rollout and then have the audacity to ask what went wrong months later. The constant comparisons to Charli have been especially nauseating, but those people look really stupid now because C,XOXO isn’t remotely hyperpop. They jumped to conclusions all because of one song. Charli didn’t invent the three word chorus, nor does any artist need her permission if they decide to do a track that has hyperpop elements. The overall sound and aesthetic of this album is nothing like Charli, but pop music fans love nothing more than to pit two female artists against each other for their own entertainment.
I'm so glad she spoke up! People can be so vicious, and a lot of them just jump on the band wagon once a vile, vicious comment is said. Even a lot of these so called music reviewers! Seems like they just follow each others words, instead of doing their jobs, and really sitting down and listening to these artist albums, or even actors movies. It just makes me cringe!😡😡😡
