- Round five of the 2025 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship heads to Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida this weekend. It also marks the first round of the 250SX East Regional Championship for 2025 and there was a lot of excitement on press day today surrounding the multitude of former racer winners that make up the class.
Before we move onto Tampa though, the big news from the week was of course Honda HRC Progressive’s Jett Lawrence announcement that he has a torn ACL that required surgery, thus pulling him out of 2025 Supercross. The reigning 450 champion dabbed his knee a week ago at Glendale in the third race that ultimately led to his season ending injury.
This will be the fifth time we’ve race inside of Raymond James Stadium with our last visit coming in 2023 when Cooper Webb and Hunter Lawrence scored the victories that night.
The big event of the day was a pre-season press conference for the 250SX East riders, and the news finally came from Cameron McAdoo himself that he has a torn ACL from a practice crash last week. Despite that, he’s planning to race the full series. Championship hopefuls Tom Vialle, RJ Hampshire, Levi Kitchen, Max Anstie, Austin Forkner, Pierce Brown, Chance Hymas, and the aforementioned McAdoo all spoke with the media today and even gave us one on one time following the press conference in this installment of SML Newsbreak, presented by Yamalube. Enjoy!
