@@mariecollinspeakydippersHi i just got my coin today and i love it thanks again and sorry it took so long to send you my address Michael from Kentucky you guys are the best keep safe
Those beautiful smoke stacks at 14:17 remind me of this great documentary I watched not too long about about a UK Icon - Fred Dibnah. I had not heard of him until I watched this ...what a GREAT character he was RIP.
Fred the steeplejack, I grew with that stuff. Well loved salt of the earth northener very skilled at demolition, I loved watching him on T.V. as a kid although I feel a little sad that so much of our industrial architectural heritage was lost this way, especially during these time when they had the strange idea to rip and smash all the solid industrial beautiful blue ed brick buildings and replace them with cheap concrete ugliness. God Bless from a Stockport lad.
Depending on the shape they are in, the munitions can still be deadly. In the U.K. They still find live bombs and sea mines. Here in Puget Sound, about 2 years ago a live WW2 sea mine floated in and caused a huge flap. On the U.S. East Coast area they found several U.S. Civil War "torpedos" in river mud and blew them in place, as they were too unstable to attempt recovery. My hat is off to the UXB Sappers and DOD BDU folks who have to deal with this stuff. It takes a great amount of courage to do what they do.
Marie what a pity that we have to change some times and the song was beautiful if I had a choice I would live back then even if it was hard thank you for another great video
Not a lot of great finds, but a lot of trash out of the river! Marie, I loved the comparison of old and now pics. Amazing how some didn’t change hardly at all and others changed completely!
I love that you all are so dedicated and enjoy doing your magnet fishing every week! I enjoy watching no matter what you find. Marie, your information on the area is always fun to hear. Keep up the good work. Cathy from Florida USA
Enjoy seeing your finds no matter what. I love finding new channels on the recommendation of ones I currently watch. I came here from SiFinds (and Nicola) 🙂
Thanks to all the Peaky's A great song , Looking Through Mothers Eyes ,,This song brought back a lot of my family memories ,, I always have enjoyed your video's Marie , I think about all the time and effort you put into your videos for everybody enjoy ,, 🤗
I think you all did good on what you did fine. Also had a day with fun friends. Stay well and safe. Your friend shirley from new Bern, north carolin❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😮😅😊🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉a.
What an amazing addition. The Yeterday / Today series were great, who was responsible for putting it together? Congratulations and thank you. Looking at some of those "Today shots" perhaps the question should be. "Are things that much better?" For example: The very young kiddies playing on the road. Not only wouldn't you see any children playing on today's roads, but how many children of that age be allowed outside their front doors?
@@PeakyDippers well I just wish Nigel would do better at puns because he doesn't seem to do half as well as you Glenn and Steve, but tell him we're pulling for him cuz the rest have hot birds like you Christy and Allison and Nigel seems to be left with not Plus the diminished pun capacity. Of course what do I know a silver fox like Nigel might have a bunny in every canal.🤣🤣🤣💚
Marie your footage of Darby is fantastic. You must do so much work to achieve the quality. Pulled up another boom💥Glen. I would be very nervous. Thank you for this video, it’s so fun to watch. Cheers.
Cool gat gun piece..... I found one a while back and after some work actually got it functional...... however itl never fire again inside the barrels to far gone
Glen i was wondering what size of magnet i would need to use i live where the Hatfield and McCoy's feud happened but the river used to have wash machines and old cars train tracks refrigerators be for they started cleaning it up I'm disabled now and i don't want one to strong i can't pull lose by myself thank you for any info keep safe from Kentucky
We are 3 guys from Derby and just taken up magnet fishing. Mainly for mental health issues and the fresh air. Would it be possible for us to join you guys for the day to learn more have a brew and a laugh?
If we're ever there again we will let you know amd you'd be welcome to join us. We travel all over the uk every Sunday so don't know from one week to another where we are going. Keep an eye on us and if we are there come join us
Always wanted to do this, nice hearing the history behind it all. Do you need a licence - permit to do this! sorry not great with the wording im Autistic.
Hey there Glad you enjoyed 😉 You don't need a permit unless you go onto private land. It's all about taking any mess with you and leaving the area tidy.
Thank you Marie, for all of the then and now photos; it's lovely to see the real history of the places you take us. 🥰🥰🥰
Thanks Wendy 🤗
What a beautiful song about mothers eyes! I really enjoyed seeing the pictures of past and present too.

It never ceases to amaze me just how much history ends up in the canals and rivers because it's so easy to just chuck thing in. 🤔.
I’m looking forward to the treat that you have got planned for us. See you all again soon.
Glad I made it to the live video😀
How destructive are those mortars after all this time in the water (80yrs).... Great video Marie and nice pics! Stay Safe & Keep Pulling!! ☘

That Gustav knife looks exactly like a vintage German hunting knife.
Thanks Tim 🤗

Thanks John and yes couldn't believe that alarm was still going.

We use the evolution 80 from online magnets in the uk.
It's a lightweight magnet but strong enough for what we need.
