Harry Kane has been a fabulous player for our club, but I think it's time to sell. Last season he was great, but for us to pay him £400,000 a week (if rumours are correct) is crazy. It would shatter the wage structure to our detriment and god forbid his ankle injury returns and he sits out a large part of the season on that money. Also to lose him on a free would be a disaster. To compete with clubs at the top of the Premier league is so difficult, some like Man Utd generate huge amounts of money, others have bottomless pockets and are not seemingly held to account by FFP rules. They can pay more in transfers and wages that's not changing soon. Daniel Levy has his faults but the clubs finances are not one of them. Of course I'm frustrated that we've not bagged the 2 centre backs we were targeting but maybe players have to go out before they come in.. it seems the players we don't want nobody else does either. I’ve actively been trying to be a less pessimistic person. This off-season has contributed to me failing to do that.
Harry Kane has been a fabulous player for our club, but I think it's time to sell. Last season he was great, but for us to pay him £400,000 a week (if rumours are correct) is crazy. It would shatter the wage structure to our detriment and god forbid his ankle injury returns and he sits out a large part of the season on that money.
Also to lose him on a free would be a disaster. To compete with clubs at the top of the Premier league is so difficult, some like Man Utd generate huge amounts of money, others have bottomless pockets and are not seemingly held to account by FFP rules. They can pay more in transfers and wages that's not changing soon. Daniel Levy has his faults but the clubs finances are not one of them. Of course I'm frustrated that we've not bagged the 2 centre backs we were targeting but maybe players have to go out before they come in.. it seems the players we don't want nobody else does either. Sell Kane, strengthen our defense with real quality, see where we are getting players out, if finances/time allow get a striker in, if not give our forward line a chance and see how they perform and take it from there.

I'm guessing that considering ANY bid for Ndombele is related less to the price we paid for him, than to the wages we pay him. If Kane leaves, Ndombele will be our equal-highest earner at £200,000 per week. That's a big sum to release.

It's actually really really easy. Tell Kane to sign a new deal with £90m (foreign club fee) and £130m (English club fee) clauses in there and £400k/w.. Kane then gets to put his head down and see what Spurs and Ange are made of. If come Jan it's not going that well he gets to leave he gets to look at any offers that come in and we get a good fee for him. It makes sense but Levy doesn't work logically.

It's maddening to watch this hierarchy talk about CL as a goal, and nickel and dime their way to 8th place. If they actually want to get CL football, they need to abandon the "Dier can be world class" thinking in the back line and sign Van de Ven and Tapsoba, *then* find homes for Lloris, Sanchez, Rodon, and whoever else has to go.
Levy should have been in Germany while the club was in Asia. It is a dereliction of his duty that we don't yet have a chief football officer on staff, or a complete scouting staff.

Spurs giving Kane the highest salary in the PL makes absolutely no sense. Imagine hes on 500k a week and gets injured halfway through his contract? With our wage structure, that would limit our moves in the market. You cant have majority of your squad on 50-80k a week and 1 player on 400-500k. It makes no sense.
