I can’t thank you enough Loz for having me on to do this. This was so much fun and truly hope to do this again. Thank you all for the kind comments. I was afraid of how this might go after being out of the spot light for a while but I’m glad you all are enjoying it and it’s motivating me even more so to get back into the strength world in one capacity or another. Whether it’s coaching, lifting or just being involved, I love the people and the culture who are brought together by this way of life. Talk to you all soon! Kev Nee
Was great to hear what happened to you. Good to see your in a good place now. I used to love watching you compete. In fact you were my daughter's favourite strongman, when we watched world's together.
man this is the interview people have been wanting for a few years now. so glad you're doing well. would love to see you pop on on some of the other strong man youtube channels like brian shaw, martins or even juji
Thank you so much for doing this Kevin. I was always such a huge fan of yours and this video reminded me why. Not only were you a great competitor, you’re such a likeable guy. It’s no wonder you and Loz get on so well. All the best to you and your family. I’m really glad to see you doing well.
I remember being 15 or so and watching Kevin on MTV's True Life. Had a passing interest in Strongman ever since because of that show and credit seeing Kevin for helping me get into strength training as a high schooler. Fast forward to 2022 and at 31 I signed up for my first Strongman comp after years of wanting to do one. Randomly thought about Kevin, searched his name on youtube, and boom- this interview popped up. Glad you had this chat and thank you two for such a great conversation. Kevin is a legend in my eyes and I'm glad to see him well!!
One of the best interviews I've listened to. Great questions by Loz and entertaining conversation between both of you. Happy to see Kevin is doing well.
Another brilliant interview. Kevin seems to be very happy with his life, which is great to see. Sure there are regrets in there too but he has taken control of his life after strongman and that's awesome. His advice about pain medication is so true. I broke my back 18 months ago, and came off strong pain meds after 4 months. This has allowed me to isolate where my issues are and rehab accordingly. Best decision I've made.
This gives me hope. I got into lifting a year ago when I was 21. Wished I started when I was younger instead of playing video games. Gotta save it for later.
Never too late. Youre extremely young still. In 29 and have had a lot of ups and downs in fitness. Just don't fully give up, taking a week to a month off once in a while is fine though
Thank you so much for this. I remeber as a young teenager watching true life on MTV. Kevin was on it and inspired me to lift and then to see him on wsm was awe inspiring!
Great guest to get on. When I saw him as a teenager I thought he was the next big thing. Great static strength and personality to match. Shame we never saw all that potential realized.
I was waiting for this one, Kevin had such a bright future ahead of him, I hate how injury prone this sport it is , thanks for getting him on the show Loz!
Wise words indeed from a guy who paid the price for early stardom, would have been fantastic to see him compete at his prime in his late twenties early thirties.thanks Loz for another great interview.
Just did my research before watching the video and i noticed that i did watched Kevin before on a mtv thing back in 2009 when i was 14 and i never forgot that part were he was eating a lot chicken and some girl told him something about it and he said "im a kid growing up" thanks to that i learned to eat a lot lol wow i didnt even knew what strongman was at that time im a big fan today... just watched the whole video and was incredibly fun made me feel i was part of it
Tore the long head on his biceps, that's a tough one to come back on. I saw him in Quebec , he got 3rd after basically not heavy training for a year! Hugo won that show.. great interview Mighty Loz!!
Good to see Kevin finally after all these years Might be a long shot but would love to see Mike Burke on one of these He wasn’t in the sport for ages but I reckon if he had started younger, I believe he would’ve gotten a few podium finishes at wsm
Absolutely. He disappeared pretty quickly when he did disappear. I was gutted because he was really pushing the upper guys. Trained with Shaw, right? I don't like to instigate drama but the only info I was told (rumour) was a strained relationship with Shaw.
I just watched the True Life on MTV he was on. So glad this popped onto my feed! I remember seeing this episode as a early teen in the early 2000’s and understood this dude was a beast! Glad to see he’s doing well and has a family!
Good to hear Kevin is good. He was a hell of a competitor! Loz, have you gotten in touch with Gerrit Badenhorst for an interview? I'd love to hear his story!
Kevin is a awesome, humble guy, a true hero back in his days right until now ! Thanks LOZ for make this happening ;-) ;-) You guys keep me motivated in my old age, to crawl to my gym and lift LOL ;-)
Man, that was a good one. He always seemed such the nice guy. Yes, definitely have him on again. I still remember how he stormed onto the scene seemingly out of nowhere. He was an animal for such a smaller guy. Great stuff Loz. By the way, you were out of focus the whole time. I thought my eyes were tripping. I think the camera was to busy focusing on those nice trophies back there!!
Another great interview, it is humbling to see how far those at the top can fall, but how well really strong people can pick themselves up again. As ever, thanks Both
I’ve noticed how many of these guys said that they hadn’t heard from so-and-so in years. What about a zoom style interview with two or three guys from the same era? I know that would be hard to moderate but it could be cool.
Tendon health/strength should be a specific part of everyone’s training regimen. 3-5g of glycine, proline and hydroxyproline with fruit juice preworkout. Train your tendons and increase blood flow to joint/tendon as much as possible. DONT IGNORE TENDON HEALTH it’s not worth it to rush, give tendons the time to catch up to new muscle. Stay hydrated , always warm up, and don’t skimp on salt.
When you and Kevin made the point of always having to have a goal or something to focus on and work towards, I cannot agree more. When I graduated high school and college football was not an option for me, it put me in a low spot and only in the past year was I able to get away from that mental state. Set new goals and get back on track. Another great talk Big Loz!!
such a great insight about tendon strength vs muscle strength. our muscles grow faster than tendons - can lead to lots of injuries with young athletes who develop too fast.
Kevin always seemed like such a nice dude. I remember when he tied the deadlift record, he went into it certain that he would come fourth in that event. So humble.
Kevin seems like such an awesome guy. I regret to say that I didn't see him in action back in the day. Good thing about youtube, I can go watch some clips of his after the interview ;). Thanks again Loz!
Great interview Loz,Articulate you have a very good interviewing style being able to get the best out of an interview.Would be nice to know pound for pound who your fellow strong men past and present think was the best?Would be great to have you chatting with Kaz?
Kevin Nee!! I loved following him through his strongman journey, he was and still is amazing!!! I have wondered throughout the years where he was, what he was up to and if he was still into strength athletics. So happy he's doing well. Thank you Big Liz for having him on talking strongman, love your show and thank you Kevin for being in the show and for the energy and fire you brought to strongman!

Kevin reminds me a bit of Evan Singleton both young, talented S.M both very respectful to their Uncle Loz I sure wish Kevin could have stuck with S.M longer but those injuries....happy that his life has turned out so great you can tell he loves talking about S.M there are some Guy's you should have back for a part 2 Kevin is one of them :--)
Beautiful job, Loz. Such an important message for young guys today. I did strongman through my twenties and I was nodding my head the whole way.

Kevin you should make a channel with workout and tips. Today we have more content but we need even more. great interview Big Loz
Dude this is awesome I watched Kevin when he competed him and Phil were always my favorite
I remember being 15 or so and watching Kevin on MTV's True Life. Had a passing interest in Strongman ever since because of that show and credit seeing Kevin for helping me get into strength training as a high schooler. So glad you had Kevin on
Total beast
Always liked Kevin, had it not been for injuries he could have been WSM
One of the best interviews I've listened to. Great questions by Loz and entertaining conversation between both of you. Happy to see Kevin is doing well.
What a pleasent chat. He should really come to Britains or Europes strongest man as a guest and say hello to the crowd when its back in session
LOVE this. I'm around the same age as Kevin, and he was always one of my favorites. Great to hear from him!
Also, you're awesome, Loz. Love your show
That MTV True Life of Kevin Nee is on my channel.
Another great video loz. Loving your channel keep it up please.

Seems to be a massive issue in America tbh.
Kevin's awesome and doing great with two beautiful little kids
Finally got round to watching this in full and I absolutely loved it, my favourite one yet. What a great guy Kevin is. Thank you again Loz.
Great video. Kevin Knee is to strongman what Jay Nera is to powerlifting. Young OGs in a sense.
brings back fond memories of that era
Yay! More stories with uncle Loz!!!😁
@@GloriousRevelations Do your shoulders pop when you bench press? I had a bike wreck a while back.
Dorian Yates didnt start lifting til he was 19 or 20
21, honestly you are only just off mothers milk 😂
Great video... So Awesome to see Kevin and get to hang out with you Guys. GREAT STUFF!!! 💪💪💪
Sad that this guy got so many injuries. But he is such a Great guy!
Thank you so much for this. I remeber as a young teenager watching true life on MTV. Kevin was on it and inspired me to lift and then to see him on wsm was awe inspiring!
That's my nephew Kevin, great guy too
Definitely in the top 3 talking strongman episodes. Tragic how Kevin's career was cut short via competition load and injuries
I remember Kevin’s 19 second Atlas Stone that was badass. Wish I could’ve seen this dude go further. God bless brother 🤙🏻
Great guest to get on. When I saw him as a teenager I thought he was the next big thing. Great static strength and personality to match. Shame we never saw all that potential realized.
Kevin seems like another just great, humble and wholesome guy. A lot of those kind of people in Strongman :)
First Talking Strongman I've watched, definitely won't be the last.
I can’t wait to hear this. Kev was my hero
He's my sister's baby boy lol for real!
Top athlete. I do miss seeing him compete. Love these interviews Loz. Finally getting to see my favourite strength athletes on a more personal level
I remember watching Kevin when I was around 10-15 and seeing his huge biceps... he had a great physique for someone who was 21 as well. Awesome guy
Good to see Kevin again. Now he just needs to start uploading again on his old YT channel.
Just did my research before watching the video and i noticed that i did watched Kevin before on a mtv thing back in 2009 when i was 14 and i never forgot that part were he was eating a lot chicken and some girl told him something about it and he said "im a kid growing up" thanks to that i learned to eat a lot lol wow i didnt even knew what strongman was at that time im a big fan today... just watched the whole video and was incredibly fun made me feel i was part of it
Jason Bergman, I'd like to hear that guys' story 💪🏻
Tore the long head on his biceps, that's a tough one to come back on. I saw him in Quebec , he got 3rd after basically not heavy training for a year! Hugo won that show.. great interview Mighty Loz!!
Best one yet. So glad to see him again and how he's doing. Its like a blast from the past
Thank you for the interview Big Loz. This is awesome
What a great listen, shame to think what Kevin could have achieved without the injuries. All young Strongmen would benefit from his wisdom
Good to see Kevin finally after all these years
Might be a long shot but would love to see Mike Burke on one of these
He wasn’t in the sport for ages but I reckon if he had started younger, I believe he would’ve gotten a few podium finishes at wsm

Man, I never got to watch Kevin live but I'm so happy that he is doing well and happy!
My mother and father loved watching Kevin compete, he's their grandson and my nephew, this is a great dude and not because he's my nephew
This is my nephew Kevin!!! Strong as a horse and a great guy....
Ur doing good happy to see him we miss him
I just watched the True Life on MTV he was on. So glad this popped onto my feed! I remember seeing this episode as a early teen in the early 2000’s and understood this dude was a beast! Glad to see he’s doing well and has a family!

Kevin was a hero to me in the uk 💪🏼💪🏼
Man, that was a good one. He always seemed such the nice guy. Yes, definitely have him on again. I still remember how he stormed onto the scene seemingly out of nowhere. He was an animal for such a smaller guy. Great stuff Loz.
By the way, you were out of focus the whole time. I thought my eyes were tripping. I think the camera was to busy focusing on those nice trophies back there!!
Ever since you mentioned you might talk to him, I've been waiting impatiently. Thanks.
Another great interview, it is humbling to see how far those at the top can fall, but how well really strong people can pick themselves up again.
As ever, thanks Both
Awesome interview. Good to see Kevin is doing well. Great content as always 👏

I had to google 'skimp' but yes I agree 100%
Arghhh

Nice guy. Will look up some of his comps. Yes we always need a how not to do it lesson. Thanks Loz enjoyed it.
such a great insight about tendon strength vs muscle strength. our muscles grow faster than tendons - can lead to lots of injuries with young athletes who develop too fast.
Great interview! Looking forward to a part 2!
Great interview👍🏼
Kevin always seemed like such a nice dude. I remember when he tied the deadlift record, he went into it certain that he would come fourth in that event. So humble.
brilliant, wondered where he had been
Kevin seems like such an awesome guy.
Awesome interview, seems like a cool guy
kevin was the man back in my day when i started
Loved the interview. Kevin was a BEAST and this was great to see that he's doing well!
Big Loz I meant.
Loz, please try to get Jane Virtannen- incredible strongman with lots of personality.
Good to see Kevin again !
great show
Very cool again. Loz, you're crushing it, thank you for all your content.
As a huge strongman fan from Germany, what about an interview with Heinz Ollesch? Or maybe the huge Austrian, Manfred Höberl? He's kind of a myth and silently disappeared after his almost lethal traffic accident(s).
Really looking forward to this story!
Kevin reminds me a bit of Evan Singleton both young, talented S.M both very respectful to their Uncle Loz I sure wish Kevin could have stuck with S.M longer but those injuries....happy that his life has turned out so great you can tell he loves talking about S.M there are some Guy's you should have back for a part 2 Kevin is one of them :--)
Great interview ..so down to earth and humble ..Kevin was a beast
Hello guys, big fan here. Very greatfull here for all the interviews Loz thank you 👍👍 I always wanted to know more about all my strongman favorites.
Beautiful job, Loz. Such an important message for young guys today. I did strongman through my twenties and I was nodding my head the whole way. It's a brutal sport and you've got to treat it with respect. Also, other things being equal, your raw power will be much higher in your thirties. Ramp up slowly and not only will you prevent injuries, but you'll probably achieve more in the sport.
Waited for this one. Thanks loz again a great one👍💪
Great to see him again 😁
Great Interview Loz
I remember meeting Kevin years ago. We used to talk at comps about basketball. Lol! He's the only strongman that understands the pressures of AAU basketball and travel football teams. Great guy! Smart as hell. And I'm glad he acknowledging his past drug issues. But I think he realizes that he wanted it all too soon! Glad to see him doing well. I've always been a HUGE fan and wondered what happened to him. We haven't spoken since 2013-2014.
Shaw played college basketball
I always wondered what happened to Kevin
Kevin nee, Derek poundstone and marius are my favourite strongmen of all time regardless what shows they won it was also the character they brought and there physiques even though I never did strongman they gave me inspiration in my bodybuilding carrer which I went on to be ukbff British champion in 2012 after 11 years of competing maybe I will have a crack at strongman . I loved the poundstone interview and this was just as good . your channel is brilliant keep it up Big loz💪
Keep going big loz kevin starting to sound like dennis rodman
I remember kevin coming into the sport. He was a phenom. I have been watching strongman since the mid 90s as a kid but kevin really got me into it. Rooted for him. I know what kevin means when he said he picked something up and the next day he was bigger. I responded the same way. Everyone else would be doing set after set and I would do 4 sets of bench, 3 sets of press, 3 sets of rows, 3 sets of wide grip rows and a little arms at the end once a week and blew up. My point is I could do what someone else did as a way to get back into it but that made my blow up. I responded so easily to training. Never got super strong though. 350 trap bar, 315 squat and a 240 bench lol. But was 5'5", 200 with 17 inch arms and visible abs. Would walk down the halls and the steroid comments would come in all day long. I used to think inside wow I don't even use anything and was the guy everyone is asking what to do and take. Remember being at work and the table of girls saying shhh look it's the guy with the huge arms. Miss those days. Any guy knows what I'm talking about. It's not being a jerk it's being a man. It's what men love.
Vhhhpt
Great work loz. Keep the awesome content rolling
Brilliant thanks really enjoyed that I loved watching Kevin back in the day so young and yet Incredible at strongman thanks big Loz for your help getting me through lockdown with this great channel
Big Loz can you get Andrew Raynes on stumpy he was five foot 3 of insane power
I miss this guy ! I wanted an America’s after Phil Pfister
Fav moment when he broke a deadlift record without realizing it
Time to grab the popcorn
We need some Big Loz merch.
It’s coming :)
Arild Haugen next! It would be awesome, another young genetic freak!
Try to get Arild Haugen on. He does TH-cam as well so I think he would be fun to have on? He has done som similar vidoes of youres with people from the streght comunity in Norway
Keep up the great work uncle Loz👍👍
I feel like i hear that name often but did he even qualify for WSM finals or the Arnolds?
He is a stud for sure!!!
Talking Strongman: The Injuries Episode
It would be nice to have a introductory of highlights of the person your interviewing .. just jog the memory and get us all fired up ..
I always feel that with Kevin and Derek Poundstone having to step away due to injury, and the tragic loss of Jesse Marunde, Strongman as a sport, was robbed of a very interesting chapter in it's evolution. I used to get really worried for Kevin with his tendency to black out after almost every event, but to be so strong, so young- I don't think the sport had seen anyone else with such potential until possibly Tom Stoltman arrived.
Great interview. I had an epiphany while watching this video, I feel like I know you, and most of your guests personally. I get defensive and emotionally invested like a friend or family member would. You want to give advice or support based on the relationship you would need to be in with someone to know these kind of facts and feelings you and your guests share...then I realize I’m a stranger. It’s a weird paradox where there is two levels of relationship.. we know how you feel, how you think, what motivates you, and what encourages you and your friends, at the same time you couldn’t pick us out of a lineup... that must be even weirder to you when you meet a random dude in the grocery store, that has a invested interest, and opinion of your day, and future that sounds like your brother but you don’t know them.
Such a decent honorable fella .👍👍
Great videos, good see old contestants on. Phil Pfister next
