8 Is Enough cast should have been playing for Adam Rich's bail in the future.

Boy Richard really loved kissing all the women. It's kind of gross.

It was the thing back then. Do you know how it began? He didn't just start doing it because he liked to do it everywhere all the time. There was a contestant on one of the early shows who as really nervous and Dawson asked if he could give her a kiss for luck. She says yes, and then when Richard went to the next contestant, she said, "Well don't I get a kiss?"
Some people did think it was creepy, so finally Dawson asked viewers to write in if they wanted it to stop, and the viewers overwhelmingly wanted it to continue.
People didn't like it back then, just as they don't now, but today society backs them up. Back then they didn't care whether women felt offended or uncomfortable.

It seemed few of them ever turned him down. I think it all started during his Match Game days. You win some money, you get to kiss the star that you matched answers with. Gave ordinary folks a chance to live out their fantasy.
