This evening my family went to watch the launch of season 3 in Kettering, UK. I was brought to tears by this scene with Little James and Jesus. Today also my family and many friends finished a nine day novena of prayers for healing for my disabled daughter who has epilepsy and other genetic disorders. Although she wasn’t healed, my spirit was healed because this scene spoke to my heart. I know now that she doesn’t need to be healed because greater miracles will happen through her suffering and our strong faith in God. Even though we know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord - for we walk by faith, not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:6

I admire your family and your faith. My son has had epilepsy since he was in 3rd grade/ 9 yrs old. He’s had a very hard life and has carried his cross well and he is now 42 yrs. old, married and has two very beautiful children. Many times have we ALL asked why and prayed many Rosaries for his healing, now hoping for just some control with meds. Our prayers have been answered over the past few years with meds mostly controlling the seizures…not completely. We are very grateful for that much! Actually he himself has come to an answer to the “why”. He works as a Licensed Practical Counselor in the Texas Prison system and says he can use his health/life experience to minister to the inmates who sometimes wallow in self pity as an excuse for their crimes, or think they are the only person to ever be disadvantaged in life. Some of them have had ‘ah ha’ moments because of him. Also his children are definitely better people because of the limitations of the their dad and their family. So I know something of what your family experiences and will keep you in my Rosary tonight. May God bless your daughter and your whole family with much good coming from your suffering, all to His honor and Glory! And isn’t that the story that The Chosen is indeed telling?!🙏🙏🌹🌹

The scene of Jesus & little James 😢😢
Backstory: my mother has lived a life with constant health problems. My entire life in & out of hospitals. I couldn’t understand how God wouldn’t heal her - the past 3 years I’ve taken my relationship with God more seriously ( mom was very happy about that) My mother was diagnosed with a terminal illness 5 years ago. This past year we lost her. Before she passed she shared advice: don’t be angry with God. At the time I couldn’t understand why she’d say that. But after a couple of months, I understood. That anger started building… in hearing The words of “Jesus” in the movie… God used those writers to talk to me! I needed to hear that. Even through it all, she never lost her faith. She has left an impact in people’s life far greater than I could’ve ever imagined. Their memory of her always comes back to God. And that speaks volumes. Through her temporary suffering on Earth her undeniable faith has shown through. Now my momma is at peace. Although she is deeply missed I can’t wait to get there myself and to be able to see her through God’s eyes. ILy Mom 💜

My Mother was fighting breast cancer and we had it on the run, but she was tested on Christmas Eve and it has spread to the brain and lungs. The last 3rd of your comment about your Mother and her continued faith and example to others even during her own struggle applies in full to my own. She is a retired Nurse and 4 days ago on a visit to my Aunt and Uncle she noticed some cognitive issues with my Uncle. She insisted my Aunt take him to the hospital. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor and is scheduled for surgery this Friday. His prognosis is good, but they said he’d likely be dead in two weeks without the surgery. My Ma… ministering to others while fighting a supposed death sentence and prognosis of 5 months to a year to live. Your Mother left quite the testimony. You will see her again. There is a glorious reunion awaiting us all in Heaven. Prayers for you and yours. Thank you for sharing this. God bless.

I watched The Chosen Season 3 last Saturday here in Edmonton. This scene also touched my heart, I do believe that God uses this scene to answer my prayer just 2 days ago before I watched it. My husband is physically challenged too like “Little James” in the film and every time I watch The Chosen with a scene of him and “Jesus”, I know the Lord was speaking to me through that scene. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I watched the season 3 theater release this weekend and the scene between Jesus and Little James is so powerful. It had me and quite a few other people I could see in the theater just wiping tears and sniffling for some time after the scene ended. I do not have any disabilities like Little James but I was connecting to him so strongly because even just the idea of "why me?" or "why not me?" is a universal question. It can be for a disability or a sick child or just some pain or dissapointment in your life you feel and don't understand why you are experienceing it when others might not.
Jordan did an absolutley amazing job in this scene. Easily one of the best momemets for the whole show so far. It's in my top 3 favorite scenes hands down.

The Story of James reminds me of "The Robe" as when the Centurion goes to a town to find the "Fisherman" he comes across a woman on a carry (platform to transport people who are disabled). He asks her why the Prophet did not heal her and her answer definitely coincides with the conversation between James and Jesus!! Anyone else remember that scene in "The Robe"?

I love the Little James character. Jordan is an inspiration both on and off screen, but tell the truth… did anyone else watching The Chosen think he was related to Adam Sandler before knowing his name or his real life activities? I’d have laid a bet on it until I learned more about him during season one. Hope they delve more into his character… especially after episode 2 season 3. Powerful stuff. My favorite character besides Andrew. Best wishes to the cast and crew.

The scene with little james really irritated me because its not scriptural, in fact its the antithesis of the ministry of the messiah. God doesnt will for us to be sick. We are what we confess. Yeshua gave us all authority over everything and yet here we are still believing crap. Makes me angry and sad for humanity. 😢

It's true that movies aren't ever the whole truth. They just change things. I have a story to tell about the abduction of my 3 younger children, but would it be the true story? They change books. You have to sign papers for producers to have artistic liscense & that ruins it. I haven't been able to write the book yet due to the heartbreak of it. The lies he told my children; only God can unravel. The day my children realize the truth; will be the day they're set free from their bitterness to me. I didn't willingly give them up; nor did I sell them. He was a very good liar & fooled many adults. How can you expect children to know truth unless they draw near to God. Two of three refuse contact, but 'when you know the truth; the truth will set you free.' They are all in their 40's now. Any one w the same situation out there? Trust God, in the mighty name of Jesus of Nazareth, amen.

The Bible says nothing about us never getting sick. About us never having physical challenges. There are plenty of faithful people who have illnesses. Do you think these people have not prayed for healing? Do you think they stay sick because they want to be?
I have dealt with chronic pain since I was 13 years old. Everyone said to pray for healing, so I did. I prayed and prayed for years. The healing never came. To this day, I still struggle with pain. Should I believe something I did when I was 13 years old made God decide I should have this pain for the rest of my life? That I wasn't faithful or obedient enough to DESERVE healing? Or should I instead believe that God gives me the strength every day to endure this hardship?
I choose to believe the last one. God will use my affliction for His glory. Scripture may not say that Little James was afflicted, but there are instances in scripture of people that God did not just take away their struggles. Paul had a thorn in his flesh. Job lost everything, including his health. And I appreciate that this was included. I appreciate the message that just because God doesn't heal you doesn't mean you are forsaken, worthless, weak, or a burden. More importantly, I was touched by the message that God uses imperfect people.
I personally believe God placed Jordan in this role for a reason. Jordan's enactment was real. I know because he said all the same things that I have said to myself every day for 25 years. I'm too weak. I'm a burden. I'm worthless. And Jesus told him the same thing he tells me. You're not worthless. You're worthy because I make you so. You're not weak. You're strong because I give you strength. You're no more a burden than anyone else.
This is not the antithesis of Jesus' ministry. It is part of it. God uses all people. The sinners, the impure, the scorned, the disabled. He redeems us all, but he does not guarantee us a good life on Earth. He guarantees us ETERNAL life in Heaven. And this scene spoke no lie. All of us who are sick, lame, blind, deaf, mentally impaired, or just different will one day stand in heaven with perfect bodies and jump for joy at the feet of Jesus. And all our tears will be wiped away.

I’m not sure what you’re talking about. Jesus never gave us the authority to never get sick or never have any health problems. We live in a fallen world and there will be sickness and imperfections and death until we are with Jesus.
