I'm a leftist and am 80. Always have been. Never had trouble changing my mind when new evidence was brought to my attention. I went to the Roosevelt Library last year and was reminded of all the things that FDR and Eleanor wanted to see happen. A real federal jobs for all program, a national health care program, lifetime free education, etc., etc. Most of it remains to be done! I would love to see it happen along with a real climate program before I leave this place. But, I want to see free speech and real academic freedom even more for the simple reason that it will in the end allow us to get the kind of society I want to my grandkids to live in. One where professors run the Universities and guarantee that real research is conducted. I want truth and fact before political correctness. I want professors to be free of harassment. I want students to be exposed to all kinds of arguments including those not approved of by the PC thought police. I want there to be 2 faculty members or even more for each admin post in our colleges. It sounds to me like we have a left-wing Red Scare going on these days. I want to see it soundly defeated. My money is going to FIRE!

I do think "cancel culture" is a big deal, however you can't compare raw numbers of academics impacted to raw numbers in Mccarthy period, you need to compare rates, not raw numbers. I believe academia has missively increased in volume since the time of Mccarthy, hence comparison of raw numbers is misleading... basic stats

In Islamic Nation, minority is not safe. Human right does not do in Islamic Nation. Human right apply only in non Islamic Nation.
Why western country, usa not change law as same as Islamic Nation.
All religions need common sense to begin with!
Why maximum muslim migrant go to non Islamic nation, why not go Islamic nation. They do hijrat, and make Islamic nation. Before Islamic Nation, lebnon was Christian, Iran was zoroastrianism, Pakistan afganistan Bangladesh was Hindu.
