Based on my experienced from 1999 -2001 and One of the best ever made motorcycle in the world. It's indestructible bike, reliable, and nice design. We used Yamaha 2 strokes liquid cooling engine DT125 1982, 1983, DT 200 1984 YPVS, 1985 YPVS, 1986 YPVS as a taxi by carrying 1 passenger, sometimes 2 passengers on the bike with me in one of our Ruby landsin Myanmar/Burma(a place where Rubies are mined.). It's all on mountains, hard off-road, rocks, muds, high hills and down hills, and dusts under all seasons with everage 10 hours aday for many years. DT125 1982 and 1983 are the best, the most reliable, very simple and easiest to fix compare to other brands motorcycle. There was about 5/6 Honda, 1/2 Suzuki, and 1/2 Kawasaki. But they didn't last like Yamaha Motorcycles. This is the story of how I fell in love with Yamaha Motorcycles for the Reliability, Design, and everythingelse.
To de restrict I had to grind a restrictor in the throat of the pipe and cut expansion chamber in half and remove the trumpet , the standard silencer is pig ugly and I don’t know why you complain about the cut down number plate hanger , the full length looks terrible hence everyone cut it off
I have a 1983 version as well. Originally sold in Canada. Slightly different than your's (clocks, chain guard, passenger pegs). Any chance you can point me to the air filter you use?
@@brassbikesuk4826 I just bought a twin filter 152417 - we'll see if it works. Otherwise, I've been doing the same as you. Last question: have you ever checked your compression? What number did you get

Beautiful bike sir, please share more videos 👏
Thank you I will try in the new year 😁
2 stroke single cylinder, nice. Launched as the DT125A in the early 70's if I'm not mistaken.
Yes Chris but this was the start of the new LC era road going bikes :) Cracking bikes IMHO
Quite different compared to the 125 R versions, nice and roomy engine bay. Beautiful bikes altogether.
rear exhaust heat shield was upside down too lol
Well spotted they were also polished to the bare metal lol
