Landscape Sketch Tutorial 🎨 How to Paint Clouds and Mountains with Lively Watercolor Washes

- Hi everyone, today I'm sharing with you my afternoon at Rocky Point Park in the suburban city of Port Moody in the Greater Vancouver area. I immersed myself in this magnificent view of sky, mountains, and the inlet by sketching and painting. Please watch the video until the end for my full process composing this sketchbook page using pen and watercolors.
🎨 Materials I used:
- Sailor's fude fountain pen (Bamboo Green)
- Noodler's Brown 41 Ink (to fill the fountain pen)
- Mungyo watercolors
- Etchr Mix-Media A4 size Landscape Sketchbook
- Holbein Water Brush (large tip)
- Holbein water brush (medium tip)

This is a very complex scene! 40 min of drawing... I loose focus and get muddled after 10 min when drawing many outlines and details, in front, at the back, on different levels...Inevitably I end up with a very different simplified outcome. You are masterful, and have well trained eyes. Practice!

Beautiful work, Becky! Interestingly, we have the opposite daily weather pattern in the Cariboo region, north of you. The mornings are usually bright and sunny and the clouds roll in in the afternoon. Also, we don’t get enough precipitation.

Hi Becky, I saw you used a lot of burnt Sienna. Do you prefer PBr7 or PR101 type of pigments?
