Not necessarily. WHen you don't measure success by money, it throws people who do off. No man cares about what his woman earns because he know he will never get any of it. He was playing chess while she was playing checkers. He had no interest in her money but was interested in the things she didn't brag about.
When you make an issue about how much you make compared to others, bragging about making more than everyone else you have a serious problem and deserve to be ALL ALONE.
Money and education doesn't mean a damn thing without the wisdom, insight, and knowledge of what it takes to actually be valuable as a person. You can be rich and successful but only good for writing a check
That’s exactly what it means when they claim that they’re intimidating. Their lack of accountability precludes them from recognizing that they’re simply insufferable, and exactly zero people are intimidated by them.
Melanie is too competitive always trying to outdo everyone else while Paul is very humble and that drives her nuts that Paul will not let her have mental control over him. She's very egotistical and has to brag about herself to make herself feel good.
What a scary human being she is, and I'm glad she's not my dentist ... 😬! She is a classic example of why people need outside interests to keep them grounded. Thank goodness she finally woke up to her own madness. 😵💫
I mean you went with the happy ending which is fine but we all know that what really would have happened is she would have wanted the Bros who brag about everything and she would have cheated with a bro until she was caught
I like a happy ending. Unfortunately, in the real world, these "boss babes" end up alone and mad. The competitive eithics that works in the world never works in relationships.
Well, I think this is one of the few HAPPY stories, & perhaps the first one where the relationship isn't about to get nuked from orbit before the idiot half gets a grip.
She's passionate about accessible dental care. One way to acheive that is to not charge such hefty fees to those who can't afford them, You don't need a special clinic to do that.
Melanie is so incredibly obnoxious with her oneupmanship. Family members must’ve dreaded their encounters with her. She would rarely get a second date with anyone. The story does not pass the suspension of disbelief test.
It's not that rare that a working woman turns everything into a competition and always tries to be the best while at the same time trying her hardest to find flaws in potential partners to the point she purposfully scares them away. Women are told - not seldom by other women - that they are not been taking seriously, that they have to work twice as hard and that everyone will judge them as employed to fullfil quotas. At the same time they are told that men by default are scared of successful women. While there is a grain of truth in all of these the world is a little bit complex then black and white and most of these problems are exagerated. Nonetheless, many women make proving their worth her main identity and become incredibly competitive and self-sabotaging in their private life. What's interesting by the way is the fact that once we get a story where noone cheats, betrays or subdues, and still there are comments that she deserved to be all alone.
Sad thing about today’s world, girls are brought up with the constant ‘teaching’ that they have to be ‘better’ than men, this is demonstrated by this story, but the funny thing, it took a ‘good’ man with patience to show her how wrong that ethos is. She was the lucky one in a thousand……the other 999 continue into middle age….. alone…….!
No Ma'am, men don't say they want to date successful women. Men aren't intimidated by you, you just annoy them.
Paul being a saint saved her from being a lonely catlady. No real high quality guy would have ever put up with that in real life.

A person with a attitude like this will always be alone in life
When you make an issue about how much you make compared to others, bragging about making more than everyone else you have a serious problem and deserve to be ALL ALONE.
Women rarely stay with a man who makes less money than them.
Money and education doesn't mean a damn thing without the wisdom, insight, and knowledge of what it takes to actually be valuable as a person. You can be rich and successful but only good for writing a check
What? She sounds insufferable, not "intimidating."

Celebrating your SO's success is a sign of pride and love in their accomplishments. Relationships thrive when it is not a competition.
Why date someone who is always trying to one up you? Testing your partner shows you have no respect for them.
My god. 2 minutes in and this woman is already so insufferable
You're not in competition with everyone. Get a grip.
And education is completely different than intelligence. Anyone can be educated, but it takes a deep mind to be intelligent at a high level
I mean you went with the happy ending which is fine but we all know that what really would have happened is she would have wanted the Bros who brag about everything and she would have cheated with a bro until she was caught
Nice story
She acts like an immature man. She has huge red flags but Paul is a simp.

Yah, you can tell this is fiction.
Since when has dentists been a male led industry???
Any person who "tests" their partner is so annoying.
Testing others means you've never been tested yourself.
“Maybe that makes me sound like I’m a bit of a jerk“? Really, you think? It shouts from the rooftops that you are an ABSOLUTE jerk.
There is nothing more attractive in a relationship than constant competition and masculine energy....NOT!
Genuinely good 1❤
Happy ending at last.
This woman is insufferable
Well, I think this is one of the few HAPPY stories, & perhaps the first one where the relationship isn't about to get nuked from orbit before the idiot half gets a grip.
As others have said she sounds insufferable. I refuse to even have a conversation with people like this.
. . . and 'they' talk about male egos.
She's passionate about accessible dental care. One way to acheive that is to not charge such hefty fees to those who can't afford them, You don't need a special clinic to do that.

With her narcissist attitude it will never last.
👍

Well shit, one that was wholesome at the end
