about that link level
if you think about it, it's similar to how actual zelda games work: you gotta find a random item in the middle of nowhere in the dungeon, that's seemingly optional but actually you won't be able to beat the boss without it

12:15 this was quite original and nice set up for a Link level!!!
The snowball functions differently while Spike is holding it, so you're just passing through it right before it's throwing, resulting in a kick since you are inside it, not above it.
12:02 that was a pretty cool obstacle
The screen at 8:23 is, I think, supposed to be the first screen in the original LoZ.
At 22:10 when you ate the coin, right after screen scroll went quick, was great! 😂

Even if the link level had flaws, the link level was too good to be a meh.
It's the best Link level I've ever seen. It perfectly landed the feel of a Zelda game. He's just not a big fan of that style of game.
@@AstralFireIXI think because of time constrain in mario games, this type of level may be annoying without a checkpoint, nevertheless, it captured perfectly the vibe of old Zelda games. It definitely should have had a like at least.

@@demoman5864definitely didn't ruin it. If anything, the lack of check points helps emulate the difficulty of games back in the day in the NES era. Games were ruthless and deaths meant restarting from the beginning.

Link level didn't really need a checkpoint. Just a powerup pipe to drop link suits on the clouds.

DOWNVOTE - that link level was awesome, it is what people consider to be a kaizo adventure level. You need to understand that condition was for game + mode. Kinda like how you make really hard levels? Yeah. Your complaint was solely because it was hard for you.
It was cool, however having a very difficult part at the very end that dying to will make you redo the rest of the level that is long and simple to do on a second time through is not the best design.
Would be less noteworthy if the level was difficult throughout, but there was only a spike in difficulty at the very end.

@@lordfootball5684unironically skill issue. That's how games were designed back in the NES era of games. Few checkpoints/ saves. You either had to be pretty dang good at the game, or you'd wind up restarting a lot

@@leeroymlg4692Outside of praise for defining things, I don't think I've heard a lot of praise of many NES games, and the two that I have (Mario and punch out) have a normal difficulty curve and not a spike at the end.

@mattmart1345 unfortunately trans people may have similar rights, but they do not have the same rights. Not only is it actually possible to be killed as a trans person and then a term called gay/trans panic defense can be used to defend. This is actually a thing is multiple states of America (not that this issue is America only). Secondly many trans people do not have access to gender affirming care because they are either not well funder of not backed by political parties in their states, typically more southern states.
