This has to be one of the most professionally produced videos I've seen from you. What a breath of fresh air! Now we need more videos 😝 Love the blooper at the end btw! 👌🏼
Just found your channel and I'm super stoked on what your doing! I ride an aluminum RSD Middlechild for the same reasons you chose your Switchback frame, and I dream of one day upgrading to the ti version. Sick to see you putting it through its paces, keep it up!
Well done Dan!!! Titanium has something magical. I've always wanted to have a ti frame. I am doubting whether to change my steel stanton sherpa gen 3 frame for the titanium version or purchasing the switch9r ti version... really nice bike!!
I finished up my Ti hardtail for riding the same Florida trails. I built a why cycles El Jefe with Ti bars and the same EEwings. AXS and Magura bits and DVO fork.
depends on your budget. like if I only waited till I could get a TI bike I wouldn't even have one.. as it were the best bike I have is a TREK 7300fx with a disc mod and surly fork.. the 4130 brodie bolt is pretty good too. Chromoly.. Molybdenum..? spelled correct? we talking space rocks man
I like titanium. That is why I had a US frame builder make me a road frame using titanium. That is why my bars, stem, and seatpost are made from titanium. That is why every fastener I used to build the bike up is titanium. I am currently looking for a builder that offers a titanium fork to replace the ENVE fork. And when the Dura-Ace cranks break I am going with the E-Wings crankset too. Chris King used to offer a titanium headset. I wish he would offer those again because the sweat ruins the aluminum headsets. Yeah, I really love titanium.
People also ask Why do elements have ium at the end? It's no accident that so many elements in the table end in -ium, for example, because this suffix was settled on as an indicator for metals (which make up the majority of elements)
I am looking for a bike that climbs really well. How does this bike climb? Is there anything about titanium that makes a bike a better climber? Other than it being lighter. Compared to a carbon frame for example?
Hardtails arguably are alway excellent at climbing. More direct and consistent power gets transferred to the tire. And of course the light weight properties are a plus. But the material has little to do with a bikes or riders climbing ability. I don’t know of anyone who has been disappointed with a ti bike purchase. ✌️
Well to clarify there is two different types of titanium in the bike industry. I think is 3/2 and 6/4 this one been the most hard and more expensive. I had a litespeed hard tail I think it was the pisgah model. Love titanium. Omg, why seat post so low? Don’t they have minimum and max insertion? Big Nono my friend. Don’t insert the post all the way down!
Hal pertama yg terpikir mengingat nama Stanton adalah Jimmy Jib, yeah karena i'm a cameraman. titanium emang keren , inikah yg membuat anda menjadikan dream build stanton switchback 631 sekitar 2 tahun yg lalu sebagai giveaway di Instagram?
Aaaand now I have another Stanton after my steel Sherpa. This one is a ti Switch9er hardtail. You were right. Ti is the best. Unreal
Glad to see Mr Tonka back!!
Thanks!! ✌️
Tonka. If that was you at 5:18 - impressive! All the riding shots are really good riding and well shot
Thank you! That’s a really fun jump and my camera operators are top notch! Haha
Dude! welcome back, long time no see one of your videos or you on the trails... that's a sweet HT, Congrats! 🎉🎊
Thanks dude!! Good to be back. Now if YT would shank my views on this…. Haha
@@MrTonka LOL 🤣🤣

Thank you for the kind words! 🙏 😊
So happy for you! My dream bike is Kingdom Void, a Ti full suss. Look it up, it's so beautiful!
I don’t have to look it up. It’s bad ass!! 👌
@@MrTonka Do you think you can buy the Void frame in the future? Because internet has ZERO Void reviews.
Just found your channel and I'm super stoked on what your doing! I ride an aluminum RSD Middlechild for the same reasons you chose your Switchback frame, and I dream of one day upgrading to the ti version. Sick to see you putting it through its paces, keep it up!
Thanks 🙏 that Middle child is sick!!
@@MrTonka ya it's a good time!!
Its about damn time!! Been waiting for you to review this bike. Thanks
LoL. More to come….
Of all the mtb channels I watch, you’ve gotta be one of the nicest, chill riders I’ve ever seen! Oh yeah, sweet new ride!
Thanks for the kind words Eric. 🙏
I love love love my Stanton steel gen 3 853 Sherpa. Knowing how well that frame rides I can only imagine how their Ti feels!
Sweet bike!
Thx for the video. Ti bikes are amazing. Have a Ti road bike and hope to keep riding it for many years
Ti bikes are more of a forever bike than any others.
I've got a Titanium Lynskey Live wire SL. Titanium is just next level for ride quality. Beautiful bike.
100% ✌️
it's like watching a marvel movie, sponsorship items all through the video/movie. lol. but..would love to get a Ti Hardtail eventually.
Well done Dan!!! Titanium has something magical. I've always wanted to have a ti frame. I am doubting whether to change my steel stanton sherpa gen 3 frame for the titanium version or purchasing the switch9r ti version... really nice bike!!
My first modern bike at the inception of COViD was this exact bike…now I also have the switch9er FS Ti….love them both!
No way!! That's awesome!
That bike looks like so much fun to ride. You ride that hardtail better than you did your Yeti. That bike rides so smooth.
Well, I ride it about 6x as much as the Yeti. haha.
Sweet ride. In the intro you forgot the famous Wolverine Adamantium!
How cool was that Phone call/email when they told you hey we’ve got a free frame for you, ha ha ha👍🏻
Pretty fantastic!! 🤙
Nice use of a Ferris Bueller’s Day Off reference! 😂
🤓
Well. I didn't know I wanted a Titanium hardtail, but now I do...
LOL
It’s definitely on the luxury side of things being Ti, but man, it’s so good!
Ever since you got the first one these frames have spoken to me. Will definitely need to add one to the FL quiver soon.
Enter to win buddy!! Haha
Awesome video bro
Thanks!!
I finished up my Ti hardtail for riding the same Florida trails. I built a why cycles El Jefe with Ti bars and the same EEwings. AXS and Magura bits and DVO fork.
Dang, that build is rad! 🤘
@@MrTonka I looked really hard at Stanton's stuff. I love what you built
Ti hardtails are so pretty
No arguments here!!

Ti has something magical about it, no doubt. Great video!
Too true! Hard to put words on it. But magical is sufficient! 🤙
Wow thanks for info, I didn't know that aluminum is lighter at same strength. Beautiful bike man.
My pleasure. Thanks for watching!
Maybe one day, I need a Ti fat bike for the long winter here!
If it has to be fat, I’ll allow it. 😂

Woah!! You DO like Ti. haha
I think you misstated because Carbon Fiber is not a metal so it has no fatigue limit like Titanium
Hey man welcome back.
Thanks Cliff! 🤘
@@MrTonka I’m back riding regularly. Purchased a Fezzari Wire Peak. Riding a Ebike feels like cheating.
0:58 wait till you hear about the word aluminium, or magnesium.
Looks like a sick bike.
Thanks!! She rips!
That’s one sweet bike!
Thanks Curtis!! 🤘
Out of retirement with a giveaway 😝!!!
LoL.
Well done! 🎉🎉
Thanks dude!!
Love Stanton!!!
100%
Wow. Who won?
Check out the instagram post to find out.
Nice vid but is a little bit too Bias when you you got the frame for FREE... Way too expensive but very Nice 😉
I'd spend my own money on this frame. Without a doubt. If I go gravel, it'll be Ti and it'll come out of my pocket. :)
Why was titanium so important during the cold war??? Now thats interesting history!
I’ll have to look into that!
Submarine hulls, and jet parts. Nice to see a video again, Mr.Tonka!
People also ask

Are you REALLY SURE that copperpaste is the best choice for mounting your parts?! Doesn’t it even push the oxidation processes even more?!?
how's the bike almost one year later? i'm really thinking about this specific frame for my next build
Still sick! Probably never sell it. 🤘
Why you stop making video for 1 year? I really missed your video Mr. Tonka.
Life my friend, life. Glad you enjoy them! 🤘
Titans are the Children of Gaia and Ouranos in the ancient Greek mythology.
@bischofnt is about to get another metal body part.
Yup. We’ll call him the collector. Haha

Aviation parts
With Titanium you will have a bike for life. I work in metal industry. Titanium is almost unbreakable.
It sure feels like it!! 🤘
That looks like a 1.1/8 headtube instead of tapered. How did you get the fork to fit?
Inside fitting headset on the top, outside headset on the bottom. 🤙
@@MrTonka so that is how you get a tapered fork to fit a 1 1/8 headtube?
Rider getting in the scene at 3:06. lol
LoL

Slam it! lower the better. no problems with any of my droppers that low in the frame.
🔥🔥🔥
🤙
If you cant afford it its not Best!
I think Light Speed Bikes.
I used to as well. Haha.
I'll take Titanium over Chinese-ium!😂
And making it is really polluting....
Shame what’s going on at Stanton, I hope they make it through…😢
Yes, me too!
What have i missed?
Whats going on with Stanton....?
No one talks about how environment unfriendly titanium production is. Thats maybe one of the biggest downsides in todays world.
There are failures but a titanium frame can last a lifetime. What is that worth in the long run?
Waaaay too much $$$
It's not for everyone.
Over the top intros are super lame. Who still does that these days?
Lolol. 😂
