I spoke to a vet and it depends on the dog it's actually great for some breeds and not good for other so I guess people need to do their research, also if your dog is old and struggling to bend their neck over these are good.
We're is the best and cheapest place to get the bigger piece of wood from please? Iv been watching woodworking videos for months and after investing in some tools I want to make this dog feeder as my first project 😁 I just never know which kind of wood to use 🙈
@@karlpopewoodcraft I am in Hull too 😁 I just watched your video on N. R. Burnett which looks great but I still don't know which kind of wood I would use for which projects 🙈
@@chloeeeee2327 Hi Chloe have you thought about doing one of my woodworking course's? Check me out on Facebook and feel free to message me on WhatsApp or messenger. I would start off using pine pse as this is nice and square smooth so easy to work with.
This may be the dumbest question but when using the pocket jigs, is there a special screw? I asked for a pocket jig for my bday, but I hear people say pocket screws.. are they a certain type or will any ole screw go in the pocket? That all sounded awful but I promise I really want to know! I am gonna give this project a go as soon as it hits 75 here! Thanks for sharing!
I made one of these for my dog when he got older and he really appreciated it. On his I put magnets to hold the bowls down, but after finding a couple of them attached to this collar I took them off in case he swallowed them. I think oil finish is best like you did, because after you've scraped off hardened dog food a couple of times it's an easy thing to spot fix the finish compared to a varnish :)
Great job mate. Liking the new router. What size bit did you use for those letters? Certainly on the small side and yet you managed a really accurate cut.
Hi Rikki cheers mate, ye it was the smallest one in the box not sure on the size but only a couple of millimeters. One false move and it would of been ruined lol
Nice one Karl!
Love this video, well done good sir! Much love from Utah. Cheers!
Thank you 😊 🙏
That's great 👍 just perfect as a gift 🎁 for my son
Great little feeding station for pets. I think the stencilling really sets it off.Gr8 video
Cheers Steve.
Great design and approach to building a nice looking feeder. Your hand-routing skills are amazing.
💯👍👍
Something I’ve never made, really don’t know any dog owners 🤠👀
Looks great Karl, nice little project. Tony
Very nice job Karl & yes, don’t get me started on stickers 🤬 😂.
🐾👍
These are very nice, but generally it's not good to use raised feeders. They have an increased risk of causing bloat, especially in large dogs.

Great stuff Karl. How are you finding the Trend gear? 😀
Hmmmm the router is fab, drill driver fab, sander died twice within two days, love the shop vac very powerful.
I hope that was for the poor puppy who you made the jail for last time ;) hehehe
Great idea can I ask where did you get the stencils from?
I bought them from The works, do you know this shop?
