    That was ace, I have a 2009 GC crd Overland and I love Jeep. I had a 1999 wj 4.7 V8 - now a 3.0 crd Merc engine and my wife has a 2015 Cherokee 2.2 Fiat engine. Jeep are far better all round than the unreliable Range Rover.

    I put an Old Man Emu lift on my wk and 32" all terrains and with Quadra Drive 2 I always surprise the check out of people. These Jeeps are very capable and rival Range Rovers any day of the week!

      Especially the range rover drivers in the UK. I was at the fuel station and a guy was too worried to climb over the curb to get around someone even though that Range Rover Vogue is an excellent off road car... ended up trying to squeeze past and ended up scratching the car he was trying to go past XD. My 2006 Overland has been mind blowing so I fully expect your modified one to be a beast!

    Nice vid, I have a 2007 WK Hemi Limited QDII, I added Bilstein 5100s and 30.5" tires . With this it has enough clearance and excellent traction all the time.

      they welded the differentials together for this video. stock grand Cherokees all have open diff's and in no way would have ever been able to accomplish this with open differentials.

    • @JaronBarendse
      @JaronBarendse 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Uhh definitely not true... My 05 cherokee that does exactly this. Mine has a ediff up front so the brakes will stop the wheels with low traction. Works kinda like a limited slip in action. In the back of mine I also have a limited slip diff. Look up the Quadra drive II system if you wanna know more about it.

    • @slayerofyou2010

    Impressive...if you can keep them running. I've a 2007 limited and trail rated with 5.7l hemi...I've spent half my time replacing starters and alternators...now the radiator has disintegrated...I'm starting to wish I'd never seen this Jeep.

    • @autoracer350
      @autoracer350 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can chime in for the replacement party. Starter, alternator, radiator, water pump. But 153,000. I still love it. Hemi with qdii, frickin awesome. Just did valve cover gaskets and went on a 1000 mile vacation with it. Not one problem other than the gas mileage. LoL. I'm going to see how long I can keep mine going. I don't know if the newer ones are any better, other than the radios and integration. Oh yeah, I had the really bad sunroof leak when I got it too. Took about 6 tries to get it adjusted and recalibrated so it doesn't leak.

    What I want to know is how does the QT1 stack up to the QT2, as in how much more capable is the QT2 in a practical sense not extreme senarios like a trip to Moab but in terms of getting in and out of a campsite or to that great fishing spot, or that thing we get every year in Ohio, you know winter, snow, ice, all that stuff

    • @arischreiber2213
      @arischreiber2213 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Being a resident of Toronto and owner of a 2008 Overland with Hemi and QD2 and 5 Grand Cherokees in the family currently, I can give you a factual answer. There are few true 4x4s that exist today as an every situation vehicle. The system in the Jeep is almost unbeatable. I consider it an MMA Fighter where a 4Runner is a Boxer. Very good at one thing, off road. No way it can keep up with my Hemi on the highway or traffic. It's a muscle car that can go over parking blocks. Put some Bilsteins, Magnafow, some Toyos, a K&N CAI and hold on! I smoke all kinds of sports cars in all weather. She sounds great doing too. You'll never feel better driving in the snow, hell it's a fun thing to do. Traction control off, crank the wheel, add some go pedal, and you're baking fresh donuts like Ken Block. Though I have to say the most fun of all our Jeeps is the 5.9 Limited. The grandfather of all fast SUV's. Remember that anything not front engine and V8 is Communist.

    • @BeansAndBullets1391
      @BeansAndBullets1391 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@arischreiber2213 well that doesn't really answer my question, I know the Overland with the QD2 is extremely capable and obviously the V8 is bad@$$ but I want to know how a QT1 compairs, what are it's limitations compared to the QT2 not the QD bc that's obviously the most capability the GC gets, I'm wondering about the difference in capability of the 2 QuadraTrac systems

    • @arischreiber2213
      @arischreiber2213 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BeansAndBullets1391 This is the best explanation for the system. th-cam.com/video/aT8E8PpCe84/w-d-xo.html If you pick one then get the top one. My rule is, No blank switches. Look for an overland with Hemi or 3.0 diesel. We have two 2008s now. For a 12 year old vehicle it's still able to impress and has features some modern cars still don't or got rid of. Like auto leveling HIDs and my favourite, a proper hand operating parking brake. Nothing like taking a snow day corner and cranking on that to fishtail and slide like a rally car, then Hemi and woooo! Hope this helps.

      Qt2 and qd2 are pretty much the same the only difference is qd2 is a little faster.
      Qt1 is just a 4 wheel drive with open difs so you won't be able to do much off-roading unlike the qt2 and qd2

      It doesn't shift gears now. It doesn't come out of first!

    Can anybody tell what is the meaning of the (- and +) located on the stick shift?

    • @IlIIlllIIIIIIl
      @IlIIlllIIIIIIl 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can select a maximum gear to be in, but the car still automatically shifts down or up to that gear according to its programming. It's great for descending long mountain roads without the need for excess braking! Or if you are descending a snowy or icy hill.

    • @juvevalerio3240
      @juvevalerio3240 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for your response , I just found how to use it today, I push the shift handle to the left to downgrade to a lower speed from 4th to 3rd to 2nd and 1st and vise verse to accelerate, it seems to me like if I am driving a manual transmission car with the option of not using the the manual if I decide not to.

    • @libertybarker7401
      @libertybarker7401 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Juve Valerio **the + means manual up shift and the - means manual down shift.
      its a chrysler thing. only time i use it is to slow down on a long hill to avoid constant braking
