Mark and I met through TH-cam a few years ago. Mark is a music producer and wanted to contribute to the channel by producing some original music for the videos. You can see one of his contributions on this video- • Why do I fly? Let me s... . It wasn't until I got to know Mark that I heard his story. Mark was born blind and remained so for 37 years until he received a vision restoring procedure. His vision is not good enough to allow him to drive or fly, but it is a vast improvement. Mark filled two bucket list items on this trip- a flight in a private jet and a tour of the Gulfstream airplane factory which he was able to arrange for us. I hope you are inspired by his story in the say way that it inspired me!

The greatest thing about P1D is to see how much Gregg gives back to the community. Sometimes we all feel a little low for one reason or another and it is very nice to go to P1D and see that maybe you are not the one to feel sorry for your self. There is always someone that could use a little uplifting and praise. To quote Reginald Denny " Can't we all just get along here" Thanks for always making my day!

Hi Greg! I can't tell you how much I love watching you fly. It's like therapy for me. I've always LOVED flying and you sir inspire me to take flying lessons. Please never stop uplifting those of us who are grounded by not letting us tag along. I feel like I owe you for all the cockpit time and education. It never gets old to me. Absolutely love your videos so much you "made" me sign up and set up an account just to be able to thank you. Also, as for all our vets, thank you for your sacrifice and service to our great nation. Can't thank you enough!

You cease to amaze me with your generosity! I am sure flying in your Premier was the thrill of a lifetime for Mark. What a remarkable story he told regarding regaining his eyesight at Emory University. It has the reputation of being a top notch hospital as Mark can attest. Hope everyone enjoyed the visit to Savannah and the tour of the Gulfstream Plant! My personal best as always!

What an incredible story! I have studied blindness a bit, since my diabetes MIGHT eventually take my sight. To be born mostly blind means that to gain the ability to see would certainly be a great adventure. And then to fly right seat in a Gulfstream with a great driver! An outstanding video! SUBBED!

As a Musician and Producer myself I know I can see how because his sight is poor his hearing is giving him more feedback than most people, he really could feel the engines as they started, whilst most people would just think "yeah that is an engine starting" Mark was listening to the notes and the hum intently, you could see how it effected his whole being.
    Superb work P1D.

If you ever get to Everett WA, visit the Boeing facility - there is a tour of the factory where they make 747's, KC-46's, 777 & 777-9 and the 787-9. And when you take the tour and see where the wings for the 777-9 are put together - I'll wave at ya from my office :)

The tour originates at the Boeing - Future of Flight museum on the west side of Paine Field next to the Hilton. Don't go to the factory directly (like a lot of people do and get turned away). There are also 2 other museums at Paine Field - Paul Allens (the Paul Allen of Microsoft fame) Flying Heritage Museum, and the Historic Flight Foundation.. If you're here on a day I'm not working - I'll join you and answer questions the tour guide cant answer :o)

Well, we have the Lead Actor, Greg, Chief Cameraman Sam, Music Director - Mark and Chief Radio Operator - Jordan. The "green" isn't "primer". It's the color of the heat bath solution which produces the T-10 temper in the 7075 aluminum alloy. 7075 is very light and very strong with relatively small expansion/contraction across the flight temperature range, and with high fatigue numbers. It is, though, extremely susceptible to atmospheric corrosion. The long heat bath T-10 soak armors the alloy against this. Airworthiness test are done unprimed and unpainted in the "green" to obviate any material or assembly defects, and allow any repairs to be done without removing and reapplying any paint. When the aircraft completes this stage of evaluation, it is moved to the paint shop. This is standard practice for all aircraft using chemical tempered aluminum alloys.
    Tome complete.

Wow - that bring back memories - came from Norway to Vero Beach (FLA) in 1981 to become a pilot - Commercial - Instrument multiengine and CFI. The first thing I did after passing the instrument rating test was to file an IFR flight plan to Savannah. (just to test if the rating worked) - it worked and I am happy that I learned to be an pro pilot in USA - the snappy ATC still work there..

I echo the sentiments below.....the kind of content that restores one's shaken faith in humanity, the good old USA, and the good folks that make up the aviation community. This content is far superior and entertaining to anything on commercial television, bar none.....save possibly for some of the aviation stuff on the Smithsonian channel or Discovery Channel's Airplane Repo (chuckling now) series and stars. Excellent once again, P-1-D.
