  • In this video, we dive deep into the ongoing conflict between Min Hee-jin, the former CEO of ADOR, and HYBE, the entertainment giant behind K-pop group NewJeans. Min Hee-jin claims that HYBE offered her a significant payoff to step down quietly after she won a court injunction blocking her dismissal. She rejected the offer, stating that her goal is to protect NewJeans' creative vision and not money. Min also accuses HYBE of manipulating media narratives and sabotaging NewJeans' success in Japan. Meanwhile, NewJeans members have publicly demanded Min’s reinstatement as CEO, arguing that her leadership was key to their identity and success. Despite these demands, HYBE refuses to reappoint her as CEO, offering only a compromised position as an internal director. This video breaks down the details, tensions, and implications for the future of NewJeans and ADOR.

I don't get it though, does she still work for Ador at this time or what's happening?
I thought she was offered creative director of NJ because she wanted to be in control of their music and activities and that. And her contract is lasting until NJ finishes too, so they get to stay together. Didn't she accept it as it's what she and they want? She also said she wants to stay at Hybe and so does NJ so why won't she accept?
It doesn't make much sense to be slandering her own company while also wanting to stay at the company. I'm so confused what she is doing 😅
I keep seeing media attacking Hybe but I've not really seen any going for MHJ? It's like the media is super against Hybe and it looks quite biased and dramatic some articles that I've scanned over.

With Min Hee-jin no longer being the CEO of ADOR, her role as the creative director may indeed face more constraints. While she still plays a vital role in shaping NewJeans' identity, the need for approvals from the new ADOR CEO could limit her creative freedom compared to before, when she had full control over everything from music production to styling and music video direction.
Min Hee-jin's vision was integral to the success of NewJeans, and the group’s unique identity resonated so well because of her clear direction. Any shift or influence from other stakeholders at Hybe may introduce elements that differ from her original ideals, which could affect the group's authenticity. We've seen ongoing issues with groups like LeSserafim/Illit and controversies surrounding different activities, from plagiarism accusations to the inappropriate portrayal of young idols. These problems are concerning, especially when it comes to preserving the image and integrity of a group like NewJeans.
It seems she wants to protect the unique essence of NewJeans, avoiding potential pitfalls that could arise if other creative ideals or influences start shaping the group. Let’s hope she can continue to safeguard what made them stand out.
