      Initially they were supposed to launch the 2a and the 2a(+) both together but due to some outsourcing problems did not, and honestly i dont blame them because in a few months its gonna drop down in price during festive seasons (I hope). But all that said I'd rather just save some money and go for the 2a

    I switched from the pixel 7 to the nothing phone 2 and it has been fantastic. And has gotten only better with software updates! Recommended it to anyone that's looking for a solid phone that gives you flagship performance for $600. Everything has been great. Battery life is amazing, software is great, the performance is great. And the cameras are more than good enough. I would give it a 8/10 I can't wait to see what Nothing does with the Nothing 3

    The Pixel 8a's screen supports 120 HZ as well (not 90 HZ). Pixel 8 series offers 7 years of support (not 6). The 2A Plus is sweet, but if I was in the market for a phone in that price range, I would get the regular 2a instead.

    I love budget phones like this. What more could you ask for at $350-400? Personally, I never use wireless charging, so it's not a dealbreaker for me. The only thing I noticed is that the Nothing Phone 2 does seem to be beating them handily in benchmarks even with an older processor. What that translates into real world, or if its with the extra $100-150 is another question I guess. Almost makes me wish I needed an upgrade to get my hands on one lol

    Nothing & Moto are already my top 2 picks just because they are rocking a UI which comes closest to the Stock UI & doesn't Compromise on value too.
    Curved displays are not my type because they are gonna need regular maintenance & maybe easier to damage.
    Nothing is doing a great job. Especially when other companies are maintaining a distance from the sub $200 segment, nothing is trying to capture that. Design may be gimmicky but software is undoubtedly the best part.
    As I'm using a Custom Rom, I know how good stock ui can be.
    3 years of updates are sufficient because Android hardware is not that great & might not last 5 years anyways.

    • @Thetechchap
      @Thetechchap  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Yeah, the glyph lighting is cute; if that's important to you. I keep my phone in an Otter Box because I'm a klutz, so it wouldn't matter to me. Do people really notice those tiny increments of graphics increase? maybe if they improve game performance; I'm not a gamer, so I don't see it in my use. I haven't seen wireless charging actually be much of a big deal, because the charger still has to be connected to something, and charging stops when you pick up the device off the charger; plus the heat is a dissuasion for me. I can see the difference is both cameras, as a photographer that would be worth considering, but it looks like the processing is where they need some work. OS update limits is way too short! Looks like this phone may be a prototype for the next major upgrade.

    • @michaelcorcoran8768
      @michaelcorcoran8768 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I mean that's where the money is. Only like 10% of Android users spend more than $700 on a phone. The biggest sales are at the $200 $300 price point especially in developing markets

    • @6cmh3
      @6cmh3 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@michaelcorcoran8768 My problem is more of their approach to the market. Phone 2a is a cheaper version of the phone 2. The CMF is a cheaper version of the phone 2a and the phone 2a+ is a slightly more expensive version of the 2a. It's fine to cater to markets who can only afford cheaper phones but the blitz of similar spec'd and priced cheap devices in a span of like 4 months is a red flag to me and feels like brand dilution.
      Their company isn't large so they are going to be stretching their software team thin (same thing happened when OnePlus started this) and phones will have terrible software support. From what I've seen on social media the Phone 1 was neglected when they released Phone 2. That was the very reason I jumped ship from OnePlus after 7 years of dealing with poor software support that started with OnePlus One and ended with the 7t.
      The other issue I have is the company toutes its goals to be sustainable. I know this is marketing BS that they will never actually achieve but if you look at their approach with their phones it doesn't help their case. CMF phone 1 only getting 2 years of OS updates is essentially e-waste. While the phone 2a is 3 years and that was the previous standard, companies like Samsung, Google, apple supporting their devices with software for 7 years shows they are thinking more about reducing the amount of e-waste and promoting keeping your devices for longer.
      I have my issues with basically every manufacturer that isn't Google and Apple for their bloated lineup and I'm not cherry picking nothing because I enjoy their products (ear 2024). I thought Nothing had a shot at being different and it looks like they are now falling into the trap that OnePlus did.

    I'm so disapoint of the CPU Upgrade. Compare to my 4 years old Samsung 20FE 5G in the Snapdragon Version for 350€ perform my Phone way better, 4K 60fps the Main and Rear Camera and every other camera like my wide and zoom lens perform really well. Only my screen is not nearly bright as the Nothing Phone 2A and the Battery is a huge difference.
    Maybe the Phone 2 could be a good Upgrade or i wait for the phone 3 because Snapdragon CPU works always solid acutally on my phone and only the batterys goes slowly a bottleneck over a long day when i use always the 120hz mode.

    When it comes to UI, "Nothing" really stands for something, unlike its name suggests.
    - The Nord 4 might have a UI that's more packed than a London tube during rush hour, but Nothing UI promises a bloatware-free experience that's as clean as a whistle.
    - If you're into fast charging, Nord 4 is like a caffeine shot for your phone, zapping it to full power at the speed of light, or at least at 100 watts.
    - Nothing Phone's Glyph interface is like having a mini light show in your pocket, while Nord 4 keeps it strictly business.
    - In the battle of battery life, Nord 4's 5,500 mAh is like a marathon runner, but Nothing's 5,000 mAh isn't far behind - it's more like a sprinter who's also pretty good at marathons.
    - Ultimately, choosing between Nord 4 and Nothing UI is like picking between tea and coffee - both can be your cup of tea (or coffee), depending on your taste!

    They should have added wireless charging to it, thats what made the 1 so unique in its price bracket.
    There are more mid range devices coming to the market as a result with it now, just an odd decision to not include it.

    Honestly, wireless charging is such a gimmick and an overrated feature. Wireless charging is the most inefficient way to charge, produces too much heat, and it's too slow.
