Thanks man! I was suffering with that camera work, but turned out pretty good considering the situation😄 These missions are pushing you not just physically but mentally too which is awesome.
Wonderful AND informative video Nando! Your guidance on certain trails are well received. I would have turned back when I heard "uluhe fern" lol! Glad you have great hiking buddies who share your adventurous spirit! Be safe on your future travels into the wild!
Thank You Sandra! Yes, this was how we call it “ulu-hell”😄 No doubt a tough terrain! I am lucky that I have adventurous friends. But I am lucky to have viewers like you who are watching and making my day with their comments☺️🤙🏻
also thank you for making these videos, you said if its worth it to bring the camera and for you its probably not worth it but its awesome for people like me who cant really visit hawaii and i can get the feeling of what its like to make these trips 😁 you are living my dream!
Thanks for saying that! It was already worth to bring my camera, just for comments like yours. I am happy that my videos serve a good purpose, that makes me feel good.
Watching this brought back lots of memories in Waianae Valley. Hiking Puu Kawiwi back in 2013 and goat hunting in 2015 after a brush fire killed off all the grass. I always used to talk to a guy named Duke whos lived down that right next to the gate. I've never been to that side of the valley but it looks rough.
I love Kawiwi, such a great climb. But yeah that brushfire gave a nice clearing on the grassfield. I didn’t see Duke for a while out there, not sure if he still around. I met him before maybe couple times while parking at the trailhead. Are you still hiking or hunting?
@@HungaroExplorer I hope Duke is doing well. I have a few funny stories about him and he was always such a character. I am still hiking these days but live in Seattle now. We are getting ready for winter hikes out here. I have only done a couple before so I am excited about the new challenges that comes with those.
Looks like a great hike, thanks! Miserable is part of the adventure, right? As your friend said, in another 6 years you'll want to try it again. Loved that grove of aloe vera (Alo'e?) near the end.
Misery sometimes is part of the adventure, but truly it wasn’t as miserable as I thought. I have been in way worst situation. This was just another adventure with unexpected overgrowth. Maybe in 6 years 😄
Wow! Talk about OVERGROWN. Looks worse than when Dan Harmon and I pioneered going up Star Trek in 2007. Great video, don't know how you do "it" and climb at the same time. To me the worst part was after gaining 2900' at the top of Star Trek you have to loose about 200' and the climb to Kalena at 3500'. When I did it the fence had just be put in and it was like wide open highway all the way to Hobb's ridge. To bad the weather was bad as Hobb's is and interesting ridge up high. Steep and narrow at places.
L Steve Rohrmayr I would love to see how that “highway looked like” that time you have been up there. This time was way differetn :)). The actula Start Trek “trail” wan’t as bad just a bit confusing here and there. Only the top part is overgrown badly where you have to climb over and under trees and trust crumbly steep terrain. Thanks for pioneering this route!
That looked like a miserable hike, thank you for doing it so that we can sit in our house and enjoy the journey and views.
Haha, yepp it was miserable! I am just glad there is someone who is willing to watch it😄
@HungaroExplorer 🙌
Great video!! One of your best!!
No way! Do you really think so?
@@HungaroExplorer
Yep, because you didnt edit the sh!t out of it!
@marcusgriego haha, plenty work in there believe me😄
Wow! Thanks for taking us along on this tough hike.
Mahalo for following the journey🤙🏻
That looks like an awesome adventure, nothing like a mission off the beaten path. Your camerawork is awesome bro (and great music choice) 🔥
Thanks man! I was suffering with that camera work, but turned out pretty good considering the situation😄 These missions are pushing you not just physically but mentally too which is awesome.
@HungaroExplorer I'm happy you stuck it out and captured the whole thing 💪🏻
Yeah, I never give up on a trail or a mountain! For that I have to be in life threatening, really shitty conditions😄.

Yeah. Adventure time👏🤙🏽 get waianae steve on a episode. I appreciate your videos and effort.
Mahalo man! I tried to get Steve on an episode to talk story but he preferred talking story without the camera 😄
@@HungaroExplorer explain bottle caps at least. I see them but have no clue.
@HawaiiJapan808 It is conplicated but I ask him to clarify and will update you.
Looks like an amazing adventure! This is exactly the kind of trails we do on Madeira Island.
Madeira must be really cool then! I need to visit soon!🤙🏻
@@HungaroExplorer let me know when you are coming I will show you around if I'm there at the time 😊

A lot!
Where did you park?
In front of our friends house in the valley. Lucky!
Very lucky😍 Mahalo🙏🏻
