I actually got excited when I saw that you were recommending a fragrance that I already have in my collection, Nishane Wulong Cha. Usually after watching your videos I am on the hunt for new fragrances for my collection, because the few times I already have one you recommend I am like, "Oh yes that is an excellent one!" And since you speak so highly of fragrances I already love I know that others you recommend are probably going to be to my liking, and have to try and get my nose on a sample.
Next fragrance note to explore, I am torn between gourmands or white florals, I will definitely watch whatever you choose and probably rewatch it a few times because I enjoy the sound of your voice and I really enjoy learning about different fragrances. Have an awesome day!

Works amazing on anyone who wears it. Whenever my son comes over (he’s 27) the first thing he does is hunt down Wulong Cha and sprays it😂 (and that’s no exaggeration!)

I tried bothe Renaissance and Wulong Cha out of this range, both are very nice, but especially Wulong Cha, not very complex fragrance, but smells veeery nice! Like a cold tea with lemon in the middle of summer!
If you compare Renaissance to Nio from Xerjoff, which one would you pick?

Interestingly I didn't like Nio as much. I found that it was too much on the lemon/lime and it didn't really come down from there. I find that Renaissance, yes starts very strong on the lemon but it then migrates to that green/wood place (whilst still keeping the freshness of the citrus). So if I had to choose, it would be Renaissance for me😬

Great list Marcelo. On watching, I reached for my long neglected bottle of Renaissance and covered myself in it! I’ve had it quite a while, so it must have macerated somewhat but for the first time I detected a note of fennel (or aniseed?) within it - just a big bowl of fruit cocktail with a herby underpinning. Loving it!
My personal favourite citruses are Creed Pure White (Original) Cologne, Xerjoff Nio (of course) and Jovoy’s 21 Conduit Street. 😊👍
Hey Mark, great to hear from you mate and yes, I always love the moment of ‘inception’ when someone mentions a fragrance that I own, I too instantly have to hunt it down and wear it while I listen😂 it heightens the experience.
I’m glad that you raised the point of maceration as Xerjoff (and other premium brands) have the glory of using good oils that only enhance over time (as long you look after your bottle!). Interesting that fennel is popping for you; such an invigorating herbal note.
I recently tested Pure White Cologne and yes, awesome. Will hunt down Conduit St and have to test this one……great to hear from you Mark, thanks for jumping into the conversation

Yep, Wulong Cha is awesome. Very versatile, comfortably a summer/winter fragrance and easily male or female....so ticks all the boxes.
And what can I say about Renaissance, other than it's a winner😎
Got recommended Humboldt from a friend overseas... Ordered a sample from Libertine and I gotta say.... while it didnt blow me right away the first time I wore it, I really fell in love with it the second or third time. Its defintely one of the most sparkly, effervescent citruses I've personally tried. That passionfruit / mandarin combo is so realistic and theres a nice green, maybe a little creamy component tucked away in the base.
Was very happy to see a video from you when I searched for this frag on youtube! Might be buying a full bottle very soon

@@TheNicheFragranceCollector I've seen some shockers but I think if you are going to be on camera and show a product make yourself and the product look the best they can, it doesn't take long to just put a comb through your hair and just give the bottle a bit of a polish if you don't have a lot of time.
Great video. I love renaissance and Wulong Cha. I like Fougere Royale from Houbigant too. Although it does not belongs to this category.

Great review! You and sebastian jara have the best channel 😃 Now i limit myself to 2 fragrances a year but with no (almost) price limit,one for spring and summer and the other.. .I am hesitating between those 3...erolfa,ocean leather and wulong chai. Best one for high heat ? 🙋♂️Have a nice day
This is a huge compliment; in my opinion Sebastian is the GOAT; I love watching his content. Not sure about your 2 perfume a year limit😳 I don’t think I would survive on this diet😭
Best for high heat? I own all 3 of these and I would suggest Wulong Cha…this would be the one I would reach for. It has great staying power, even in high heat.

@@steelersOducks Hey Ken, I just had a look and it seems that they have renamed it "Aqua della Regina". Interestingly they list 'musk' in the base (called it! in the past they only referenced the citrus and floral notes). This is the one that was made for Caterina de Medici.....you're going to love it

Hope you had a lovely Easter with family and friends, Marcelo. Another excellent video. I went out and bought Renaissance after your video. Haven't tried any of the other fragrances you have there except for Wulong Cha. Personally, Wulong Cha is a bit synthetic and harsh at the start. Another Citrusy and tea-like fragrance that I think you would love is Ormonde Jayne Qi and Tanger. Would love to see some florals next time. Oh, and will you show us your whole collection one day??
Interesting that you find Wulong Cha harsh on the opening and synthetic. I've read this comment from other perfume lovers....I don't get either of these things.
Great choice on Renaissance, did you get a chance to test first or did you just jump in?🤔 Thanks for the 2 Ormonde Jayne recommendations. I'm doing a masterclass on this brand shortly and I'm certain that the 2 that you suggested will be in the line up (can't wait! I love Ormonde Man🧡🧡, so can only image how great the other fragrances will be)

In truth I feel embarrassed showing all the perfumes in one location😂 My father always gives me a hard time that I'm crazy and that not even in 6 life times will I use all the perfumes I have, so to see them all in one video😳....but yes, will do this one day, promise

Very nice video. I am always surprised you present a fragrance I do not know about. In this case 2 I have not smelled and one brand Gritti I have not even heard of. As far as a video I would like to see would be fragrances that are calming please.

I would actually recommend to you Neroli extreme with the work that you do this is a very pleasant close contact scent…very subtle but present

Renaissance is a work of art. Im in love with renaissance, it smells like orange peels with a hint of lemon🍊 🍋
Acqua di Parma Colonia (my all time favorite and gateway drug into the frag game) Clive Christian 1872, Xerjoff Renaissance, Terre d'Hermes, and Dior Eau Sauvage round out the top 5 for me. Too many to choose from, but these are bangers.
Awesome line up Frank; beautiful collection of fragrances....and yes one of my early fragrance was Acqua di Parma (awesome collection of perfumes from these guys)
Just added Renaissance to my collection what a stunner.
Amen brother👊🏼 I was actually wearing it during the filming of this episode. For me it's the ultimate 'confidence giver'. Fresh, vibrant, masculine citrus....love it!

Really good to hear about Citrus, Marcelo. The only thing I've ever used with Neroli in it was this body oil which absolutely slapped, it was by Rodin (now out of business, and was marketed to women, a great product regardless) and I get that hit of neroli when I use it. Its funny how people can cherish bottles even if they largely the same in distribution the world over, but somehow resonate with the place where they were personally discovered. I admire.
Also, the SMN History is well storied, I haven't visited the Florence store yet but its a good reference point especially in contrast with how the Creed conversation was going last week. I ended up buying several bars of the Vetiver and a couple of the Tobacco Toscano bars and its just such a great Palazzo/Priory/Pharmacy. Look forward to the next theme, disappointed no-one has said Seminalis yet though. xD
Hey Quasim, great to hear from you buddy. Awesome purchase of the Tobacco Toscano and Vetiver, both favorite of mine from SMN. Funny, I actually filmed/shared more on the history of SMN (because I’m totally in love with these guys) and had to cut it out because it was too heavy on them and the balance was off on the other perfumes in front of me😂….I’m going to have to do an episode just on them (did you know that the monks actually were treating patients during the Black Plague! That’s how old and well respected the work that these monks were doing….awesome history)

@@TheNicheFragranceCollector That's excellent Marcelo, I knew that theres a rich history of friars and monks growing herbs and creating tinctures etc, but didn't know about SMN treating the plague. That is a pretty epic transition, from treating ailments and the Black Plague to what, some 8 centuries later and they're making beautiful bottles of sweet almond oil, soap and perfume.
I really like when people work at the same thing for decades, let alone centuries! Mind blowing. Have a good week Marcelo 💪💪😀

As an Italian I thank you very much for your extremely informative and historical accurate contents! This video was amazing and for once a fragrance-contents creator spreads truthful informations about WHERE the history of Western perfumery has actually started. There are a lot of fragrance contests creators here on youtube which are totally biased, and feed misinformation to the viewers about the history of Perfumery, deliberately ignoring history and facts! Of course most of them are French and naturally biased about it
And it’s maybe possible that they also ignore facts or have received the French self celebrative version of the history!
Nonetheless it’s important that someone stays truthful to reality and history! I appreciate very much you and your channel for that as Italian and as fragrance lover!

If you go further back in time, we discover that the art of distillation was born in the Middle East! This was then brought to the European continent, in which the Italians began to expand and the French refined....each nation built on the shoulders of giants♥️

It really is a beautiful scent. Have you tried their potpourri (not the cologne but the actual home scent potpourri)?? It’s utterly divine. I have it in small bowls all around the house!
Haven’t tried their potpourri range yet Anna, but I can image that it would be amazing.
I’m a big fan of their fragrances and skin care range…this is the main area that I’ve explored.

Great video. If i opt between Wulong Cha & Colognies by Nishane. Which one is best?
I find that Colognise is a great citrus fragrance, but it’s a bit light when it comes to staying power.
Whereas Wulong cha has some citrus elements to it but essentially it’s more of a tea fragrance, however it lasts pretty much all day
I'm sad to say I haven't smelled either of these. Maybe one day! That Nishane projection bomb sounds really interesting.
Hi Marcelo!!! I just lately got Wulang Cha and I like it . Another one gorgeous freshy from Nishane is ambra kalabria. It's uplifting, you must definitely try it if you haven't already 😉

Hey Sholahuddin, Great to hear from you. If I had to choose between the two I would go with Renaissance… this is a bright citrus with some green/fresh components to it, which makes it lean masculine.
Whereas Wulong CHA is a great unisex fragrance that dries down a bit sweeter.

Only recently found d tour channel and just watched this post for the first time yesterday. I was really upset when you said that Humbolt is only being made in 400 bottles as I thought I have no chance to get any over a year later. However I'm pleased to say I have found a bottle of this in the UK so I've taken the plunge I love citrus forward fragrances and I trust your olfactory system since we both love and respect Alessandro Gualtieri and his work, it wasn't cheap but good Niche houses never are, but decent value at £312 for 100ml. For me it is worth as I don't want to smell like everyone else wearing Invictus, 1m, Sauvage and Aventus.

Hi Marcelo, what would you have me wearing if I told I use citrus and pine beard oil. I wanna Layer my Colonge beard oil, and a woody bidy wash
Great to hear from you Jason and I would say off the bat Renaissance would be a perfect compliment to your beard oil scent. My guess is that the oil isn't overly pronounced but present...Renaissance will support it beautifully and not compete with it.
The other one that I would suggest from this line up would be Perris Monte Carlo's, Neroli Mediterrano (this is one of my favourites). Again it will support your oil scent and not compete...plus is has a slight woody note in the base (awesome perfume).
Try these as a start. Let me know if this works, would love to gain your feedback.

From this line up, I would recommend Renaissance. Awesome sillage, great summer fragrance with some green, aromatic elements that project a sense of confidence.

If you don't have a lot of money but want a happy, unique shower gel-type citrus fragrance John Varvatos Artisan Pure is really good.
To me, nothing beats Tom Ford Neroli Portofino when it comes to the beauty of the smell. It won't last that long though.

Wulong Cha: is underrated, hidden gem; so the scent profile is really unique. Great sillage and longevity for a 'citrus' tea fragrance. Compliment getter
Bergamotto: is THE best true to life Bergamot fragrance out there. It can be it's own perfume with up to 5 hours of longevity; but it's magic power is in being able to layer this with ANYTHING! This one bottle will now help transform a hundred other perfumes into something unique
My recommendation???🤔 Re-negotiate with your 'Financier' and see if you can get both😬 (that would be my strategy😉)

On me it lasts a comfortable 8+ hours...the black tea component gives it its strength. Signature worthy is up to you!👊🏽

I would recommend that you test this one. It's not for everyone. This is in true Orto Parisi style so atomic in projection and intensity. But yes, this is easily a winter fragrance even in the North Pole🥶⚡️💥

But I also understand what you're asking. The best way I've answered this question in the past is to find out what you're looking for ie a good citrus fragrance for the office or for going out.

Not at all. 2 very unique and different fragrance's. Yes, they fall under a 'Citrus' category but different expressions:
Renaissance: Green, vibrant, woody citrus
Wulong Cha: Sweet, black tea fruity citrus

You have to remember that all the SMN are eau de cologne's so they will never out last an eau de parfum. Personally I get a comfortable 4-5 hours from this particular perfume.

Yes, lets agree. I still get the sweetness of the other citrus notes coming through, but yes that Black Tea, is definitely a major player in this fragrance.

It’s a bright citrus that stays thought while never going dark but the rum still plays it’s part like a sour whiskey

Yep, I hear you Daniel. The good news is that only the Santa Maria Novella is eau de Cologne, hence why I made sure to mention this so there's no confusion on its performance.
All the others in the line up are EDP with the last 2 being monsters in the way that they project and last.

Niche white floral for men
Off the bat I would recommend "Tamarindo by Memo".....White florals can be a bit soft on a man and you still want a little bit of a masculine edge. Tamarindo has a 'green pineapple' note on the opening and Patchouli in the base, and these notes plays well with the Jasmine and Tuberose in the heart. I own this one and use as a summer day fragrance....good luck!!
