Me and Nieve have been mates for 8 years. The comments on this are a little weird. Can this be less weird going forward please?
I don’t really think we’re a channel that does humour like this and it’s a little disappointing to read some of the comments on a video of us just watching a football match
It's also very disrespectful of your clearly non-platonic relationship with Alfie IMO
People think they’re your friends and can do that banter but it is extremely parasocial and odd. Hope this doesn’t stop you guys from collaborating in future because you two together are fun to watch as a duo :)
@@jasminappleby779 I agree w/ this ^^^ you guys are good to wat. h together
Also to be clear when I say some I mean SOME. A lot of them are hilarious so as long as you’re not being gross I’m fine with it
when will people understand that a man and a woman can be platonic friends
Ellis making eye contact with a woman. It’s a miracle.
But he hasn’t talked to one in ages so he could have forgotten. Now it looks like a relationship with Alfie is on the cards
@@CTpng Why have you replied to so many comments calling Ellis a naughty little flirt boy
Nothing in this video is like that, it's just a couple friends enjoying a shite time together ya fruitcake
@@CTpng”flirty naughty boy” 😭
As an Oxford fan I have to say having this as a home stadium is beyond depressing
I’m from Oxfordshire but I’m a Bournemouth fan, I knew that the kassam had 3 stands but I didn’t realise it was that shit
Manor Ground was paradise in comparison
Your shirts are decent though 🤜
Goto Gillingham worst away stand in the UK
hopefully we get the triangle
NIEVE IS THE GOAT
The way she made StatmanDave look like he knew nothing on Sky Sports was legendary.
@@sirprintalotI need to see that

These guys are one step away from PL. Three stands and a car park, you’ll never sing that!
It could happen
Actually, it really sounds like a chant!
You’ll never sing that!
You’ll never sing that!
Three stands and a car park -
You’ll never sing that!
The Oval in Belfast is an absolute sh*tehole. The toilets are a wall you piss against. The terrace is crumbling to bits and an absolute deathtrap.
It's easily the worst I have been in. The tunnel/cage is like something out of eastern europe. The home end isn't much better either. Been that side for a few semi-finals.
I hope Ellis goes!!
Wonderful old skool ground!
@Cal900 Wouldn't be bad if they done something with it and spent a few million on it.
I think I know where the next @awaydaysfootball needs to be
That must have been Nieve's worst first date ever Ellis 😂😂😂
Isn’t this their second date?
They’re dating?
If he’s hanging out the back of Nieve he’s a very lucky man🎉🎉

Having none at all is way worse

As an Oxford fan, don’t think there’s anything worse than when you called the ox a bull. ITS AN OX
Oh yeah I’m embarrassed I didn’t realise that 😂
The one in the statue was still very much a bull! :D
In reality, it's both an ox AND a bull. The term "bull" can be applied to uncastrated males of various bovine species, and "ox" is not really a specific species either, but rather a term for any kind of bovine that has been domesticated as a draft animal.
Overall, the majority of oxen are castrated, and are therefore not bulls (which does make the inclusion of the balls on the statue a bit odd and unnecessary). However, there are indeed some parts of the world where at least some of the oxen are bulls. This is not common overall because bulls are significantly more difficult to control due to their much higher testosterone levels, but it's not impossible, especially depending on the specific job.
It's a bull-ox with bollocks!
It’s not called Bullford is it?
As a student I lived next to the old ground. It was magnificent. A sloping pitch and standing so close to the pitch that if a player took a throw in you could have easily taken the ball off them.
The Kassam is OK - it just drains any atmosphere. Even a higher fence with a mural of a stand would be better than an open end. If you ever drive there and park in the car park where there are a load of spaces free, just beware. A poor shot at goal can easily fly into the car park and do damage!
Thank you for publishing this.
Livelong OUFC here. We utterly hate the Kassam Stadium and the way our beloved club has been treated by the landlord is downright disgraceful. We need a new home before our lease runs out.
Thankfully a new stadium is on the horizon and we can forget this three sided nightmare.
Nieve always elevates any video she appears in 🙌
Great to see AwayDays and Jodie Whittaker collab on another video
Jodie Whittaker's from Yorkshire!! Wars have been fought over less
Loved to see Ellis and Nieve on a collab again. Support them (and other good football content creators) and don't be weird about it. Good on ya!
Awesome....love Nieve's videos. Love seeing her on here. Glad the season is back and we'll be seeing lots of cool videos from the both of you!!!!!
I recognised the stadium in the first second from Nieve's video! The comment made in her video about putting a giant ant farm in the empty car park stand still lives rent free in my head.
2:25 I'm from Romania and I think that is Dinamo Bucharest not Zagreb but yeah, it's funny that an random Dinamo Bucharest sticker is on the Oxford stadium 😂😂

16:05 "GET IN!..." 😂🤣
Fans stood on cars in the parking lot to try to see in when Oxford were playing arsenal in the FA cup a few years back
Car park !!!
There is a pub mate, it’s upstairs in the shopping centre, it’s a decent little boozer too, been a couple of times on Morecambe away days!
Nieve is great, love seeing the two of you do content together.
Fully agree with Nieve on the pigeon comment 🔥🔥 such an underrated animal especially for the vital role they played
This was my local when it was built, I saw the very first match there against Palace. I was actually down the Palace end as a long time sufferer of Palace (before they became premier league quality). Palace lost on penalties.
But I remember the ball going over the fence and hitting cars in the car park.
The place has never felt nice and felt rundown from the very start.
Also, rumours were that Kassam couldn't afford the 4th stand but built the entertainment complex to pay for it and have a longterm income. He managed the second one.
The new ground about to be built will be far easier to get to as well.
You and Nieve should do more videos together! :D
Dane Scarlett going from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to the Kassam. Talk about an upgrade 🔥
I love the Circuit de Catalunya Shirt that Nieves is wearing.
There was a time, not so long ago where clubs were owned by people who had their hearts set for said club. Now it’s become an investment thing, an endless moneymaking pit (at least, that’s what they hope). If it goes sour, or for whatever crooked reason, they just bail. Sad.
On a lighter note, another entertaining vid, pigeons included.
Why is everybody dissing it having three stands. I think that stadiums with three stands are brilliant and I'm definitely not biased or a partick thistle fan and their home ground definitely does not have three stands or anything.
I am not a football fan in anyway but yet i still watch your video 😂 its just interesting to see the different stadiums 😅
I LOVE STUNTPEGG
"You don't need to kill them though, I heard what you said." you two are so funny
Best duo on TH-cam ever. More please!! Mr. Carlin a close second.
The way you both looked at each other 🥰
3 STANDS AND A GARDEN FENCE !
Thank You, Ellis, you travel to many sorts of places worldwide and make the best videos possible, although this was in Oxford, You make the best of it, Up the AwayDays!
Yous two are nuts
😂luv the vids
The Kassam seems to have acquired "character". My nominations for bad stadiums are from the 80s: Colchester United's ground at Layer Road had an away section enclosed with chicken wire; the ball regularly ended up in someone's back garden and parts of the terracing were fenced off for safety reasons. Northampton Town used to ground share with the county cricket club, and had open air urinals. This video was very entertaining; I think you should treat Nieve to a game at Dereham Town.
Just wanna say away from the football content mate, your skin looks like it's getting so clear and healthier. Big up yourself ❤
It stinks because of the sewage works next door. Also there used to be a pub just opposite called The Priory, Kassam evicted the tenants and then left it to rot despite it being a listed building.
We pay a service charge that supposedly means the stadium will be upkept, but it's consistently dirty and the toilets are minging. There's no hot water and the reception is non existent.
The sooner we leave this dump the better.
As a Canadian, it boggles my mind how close everything is in the UK.
When you credited the Peterborough fans for making the trip, I googled the distance. It's a 2-hour drive. For me, the CLOSEST away day is a 6-hour drive.
For a weekend game you would think nothing of it, but this was a Tuesday night game in a meaningless competition. Those fans wouldn't have got home until after midnight, so fair play to them for bothering.
And your police have silly uniforms
@@bobbyt8547this is true, but they only dress like that for public appearances like parades or press conferences. A normal officer on shift looks more like an American officer.
I live in metro vancouver and it takes me 2 hours just to get to a whitecaps home game. That’s why I end up going to more cpl games. But away days are brutal cuz the closest one is a 2 hour ferry ride and a 3 hour drive away
If Scunthorpe was a stadium...
AwayDays, where football comes second to pigeons. Love it
You should try Broadwood Stadium in Cumbernauld. The Scottish version of the Kassam, just colder! Three sides, neglected and ran into the ground by the owners.
Does any team even play there now I know broomhill took over after Clyde but heard they moved too
@CopperHTID Broomhill are now playing at Dumbarton. Clyde are playing at Hamilton Accies. The only team left there are Cumbernauld Colts in the Lowland League
Cumbernauld Colts, and sometimes Ranger women I think. @@CopperHTID
It's such a pit, which is a shame because it's a decent size ground and it's not a bad place to watch a game
Rangers ladies home games are there. But as it's such a shit hole I ain't going to the games there @@joshmore7175
Taunton is dangerous for away fans, advertised capacity of 1,000 in the away end, safe capacity, about 600 at most. 3 Porta Potties for all the away fans, Pitch constantly Flooded, No proper food only pastries, no room before the pitch meaning fans are dangerously crammed in together, and meanwhile the home end gets way more room only to bring less fans than the away. Overall the Club is very nice but the Stadium is almost dangerous.
Sounds a lot like Nantwich Town’s ground I had to steward at for a cup game involving Chester, my team. That place is barely a bloody stadium! I refuse to go there again.
i had to walk on the grass to get to the far end when we went there last year, granted that was with no segregation
Ellis take nieve on a football away days date 😂😂
Ellis you should come to another Grimsby game
I was the guy in the orange Lacoste shirt the reason why it smells is because there is a waste disposal nearby ?
It has a similar feel to Twerton Park in Bath, two beautiful cities in which the council neglect their football clubs and the areas they are located because they are more interested in keeping the city centres prestine. I understand why but feel bad for the fans.
I've always found it interesting that the most internationally "prestigious" city is home to the most un-prestigious stadium.
We want more Nieve
Video idea - Visit one ground from every level of english football and rank them so from as low down as Penydarren Park in Merthyr to Anfield
Babe wake up new awayday dropped
Imagine being a communist
@@Forestgravy90 LOL You don't even know what that means.
To be fair us as Bolton Wanderers fans can go to Hollywood bowl for a pre-match pint there's a bar in there and it's always packed. But we do also have a harvester and a couple other bars dotted around the place.
"There's no pub here"
There's literally a aports bar above the Hollywood Bowl, and the worst pub in England is five minutes walk away, just behind the houses at the end of the ground with a stand.
I visited this stadium like 10 years ago, when London Welsh (rugby) called this place home, I vividly remember the lack of fourth stand and view of the carpark
Echoing the thoughts of the fans you spoke to Ellis, I don't dislike Grenoble Road, I hate it. The sheet metal sides, cold concrete, lack of much to make it feel like our home. It's Awful.
I'm gutted I couldn't experience our old home The Manor Ground, it was a proper British stadium, had a slopped pitch and everything.
To expand on what Nieve said about how cold it can get, from late October to mid April every season, standing in the East stand (the one behind the goal) is like arctic level freezing.
If the inability to clear the pigeons weren't enough, until a few years ago, every penny from concourse sales went to Firoz as well as the Hollywood Bowl complex. It's believed when we eventually leave, the whole thing will get torn down and replaced with houses.
I can't wait to leave Grenoble Road. But, cos the approval to build a new ground is taking a while, it looks like the solution will be to extend our license to play there until our new stadium is build.
I travel from Seattle,Washington USA to watch oxford yearly and I have to the Ka$$am has a special place in my heart. Love both you guys. Keep up the good work
A good duo. She’s funny too.
I don't know who was the worst owner, Kassam or Robert Maxwell? Oxford have been very unlucky.
Kassam all day. While ya Maxwell tried to merge us with one of our local rivals, his money took us from division 3 to division 1 and lifting the EFL Cup. Though, the fact all that money came from cash he'd nicked meant we were screwed when he died.
Under Kassam, the Merchant of Misery as he was know before he bought us, we went from Championship to National League in 7 years.
Kassam all day long.
I can never understand why people buy a ticket for a match which is generally not cheap and then leave before the match is over. Surely if their team is losing, then that is when they need most support
The best is for sure the ethihad, its so quite and empty, very relaxing
In Peru, this would be considered a pretty good stadium
Also you should really go to the highest stadium in the world. It’s in Cerro de Pasco in Peru and is the home ground of Union Minas.
6:33 Foreshadowing the Tango Ice Blast Posh Kit with a Tango Ice Blast
You should come to us at Gillingham... probably have the worlds oldest "temporary" scaffolding stand which was put up in 2004 😂
Thank you for the Kenilworth Road love
And oxfords ground is fun because of the car park. One I want to visit this season
YT had unsub me from your channel. Crazy that this is a thing.
Great video! Roll on the 24/25 season!
Not sure if you’ve checked out Meadowbank in Edinburgh yet, might not top Oxford but definitely pushing them in a title challenge
Been using Unik clothing for a while, the Vice 84 brand on it is my favourite, good to see you collabing with UNIK, copped the trophy tee.
Weird location for a ground!
As a fan who’s been going to that stadium for almost 20 years, it’s an absolute hole. Never cleaned, no character, everything done on the cheap (hence why it’s so unbearably ugly), grim interior, and the weird gaps and 3 stands mean that atmosphere is very difficult to create inside the stadium. Even if our new stadium plans were fully accepted and construction started immediately, there’s no way it would be finished in time and ground sharing is inevitable. Various owners of the club have tried to buy the stadium from Kassam but he won’t budge. Not only do we not own the stadium, the club has to pay hundreds of thousands of pounds every season to play there. So yeah, not great.
One small comment - you said that this is the "worst competition" for Oxford United, however it really can't be, seeing as they won it in 1986 - credit where it's due.
The ground just looks unfinished, and badly so - the stands are so disconnected, at least Shrewsbury's look like they're on speaking terms. On a more serious note, the pigeon situation is a serious Health and Safety violation, that looks disgusting and really unhealthy.
8:55 when the stadium's so bad it hurts
Awh Ellis taking his gf Nieve on a date and pretending to let her educate him on a subject he just got done doing extensive research on for this video😂 what a gentleman, how sweet of him😂😂
try Falkirk's stadium in winter when its raining! No pub near by the and ground is inside the blast radius of the INEOS plant
This is the crossover content we came for!!

Good thing we are building a new stadium
I still remember when Stamford Bridge had 3 stands and a carpark behind a goal
Stamford Bridge was a real shithole in the eighties
Seem to forget about Northern Ireland, wales and Scotland
As a oxford fan our staduim is just utterly shit, glad you see the problems we do. Hopefully in the next couple of years we will get it all sorted! Btw the smell you talk about is the sewage place in Sandford (the next estate over).... its especially lovely on a sunny afternoon 😂
may be losing my mind but ellis looks sm like paul mescal at 2:36
The best comment we’ll ever get
I think he looks like Sam Fender
Didn't even realise the game was on until he showed the pitch 😂
I went back to Upton Park to be an extra in a movie a few months after the last ever game. There was pigeon crap everywhere and the toilets hadn't been cleaned. I think this ground is similar.
I see your Kassam Stadium and raise you Central Park (Cowdenbeath). A football pitch in the middle of a stock car track. Almost every single view is obstructed by safety fencing.
Let’s not forget the fact it has an Indian/Nepalese buffet in the car park as well.
It’s for sure a stadium from a bygone era and has a rather unique charm despite being an absolute dump of a place.
I've just looked that up, that's crazy 😂 Despite the football being older than the racing it somehow looks like the pitch was added as an afterthought.
A fine stadium, particularly enjoyed the Ghislaine Maxwell Suite, The Julian Allsop Banana Bar, and for the kids the Graham Rix Crèche .
The chicken curry pies in the ground on match day are lovely 🤤🤤
My mates and I went to Oxford United's old Manor Ground a couple of times, as it was so easy for us to get to...just hop off the bus at Headington Shops!
Great atmosphere for such a small place.
Never managed to get to the Kassam as it wasn't on a bus route, and they put the prices up wayyy too much!
If you think a Dinamo Zagreb sticker on a wall at Oxford is bad, we've got a Hansa Rostock sticker on the urinal cistern at Dunkirk from when we had some German guys came to watch (Notts kicked off at 12:30, so they went to us after).
Should've gone upstairs to J's Sports Bar instead of the Bowl. Much more atmosphere in there, loads of TV's and they usually allow away fans in. Can get very busy though for league games so arrive early.
“The bull” it’s an OX pal
Hahahahahahahaha god sake
@Ellis-go9dp Any male bovine that has not been castrated can be properly called a bull, including oxen, bison, and water buffaloes.
I'm Everton Fan 60 years. The View Ellis and Nieve have is Spectacular compared to some at Goodison. EG Back of Bullens Road. If you duck down you can see the cross Bar of the goal.
Would be interested for your take on Edinburgh City FC's stadium - if you are looking at Scottish stadiums too I would wager that is truly the UK's worst stadium.
Worse than Spartans?!
Our stadium is right next to a sewage plant so that's why it can smell horrendous sometimes.
I can't believe you was at the Kassam and i didn't know also love how you say how are fans are great
as an Oxford fan whenever I enter the kassam I just get depressed
The barbed wire scene was the best. She's a gem 😂
The bad smell is cause there is a sewage works less than half a mile from the ground (at the fence end) it’s even worse on a hot day when the winds blowing towards the ground. Kassam brought the club for £1 and took on the debt as said in the video. Then he sold the site of the old ground which is now a hospital, the issue with him and all owners since is that he won’t sell the ground without the leisure park which obviously would cost a lot more than any owner would be willing to pay for a stadium. Only renting the ground causes all sorts of issues there’s been times before that club staff have been unable to get in in match days, the pictures on the stand behind the goal have only been there 6-7 years at most before then there was nothing connecting the ground to the club. The home fans hate it, away fans hate it, even the players complain cause it’s so hard to get atmosphere in there but there’s a new fan group set up with flags and banners before games which helps but we just want out and hope the council see sense and approve planning sooner rather than later as we could be homeless. COYY
Thames water sewage works just along the road from the kassam hence the smell
