At that second garage sale, I kept saying aloud “oh, oh, oh”while looking at all that lovely glassware! What sweet memories that woman has of collecting over the years, smile…
She actually is the daughter in law of the collector. The lady that collected all the treasures had passed away and the son and daughter in law had inherited quite the collection. She really has quite a mess on her hands. apparently there is a ton more also.
I was changing my 2 month old baby girl's diaper when the announcement came that Elvis had passed. I stopped what I was doing, and honestly, I cried. I love Elvis, I still go back and watch him on Ytube. Love to hear him sing How Great Thou Art.. My Daddy passed away years later on August 16th, and I had a Grandson born on August 16th almost 22 years ago. Love the salt and pepper shakers. Enjoyed the video.
Elvis died a year before I was even born but I have always been drawn to love him and his music. No one in my family was a fan, I rarely watched his films, I was just drawn to him and his music. It was kind of strange. I can't explain it. How Great Thou Art is one of my top favorite songs to hear him sing.
Woolco is the modernized version of Woolworths stores for the mall stores in the 1960s. Like Kress morphed into Kresge's for the mall stores. 5 and dime stores of the 30s 40s 50s for downtown big stores made these changes to go into the shopping centers and malls. I lived through these times. I am 75 now. 😊
Mr Kresge opened all the K Marts. My first job was at kresge’s, I made 1.90 an hour and we got a pay envelope with cash. All our tax information was written on the inside flap of the envelope. I guess I’m old too lol.
What a fun time! I love going to garage/yard sales! You got some really neat items, love the little apple salt and pepper shakers, and all the records you chose, and the plate that looks like a sunflower, and also the other two plates that kind of resemble a sunflower too! So many cool and beautiful things you showed! What a great video, thank you Becky! 🌻💖🌻
Hi Becky! Nice to see you pop up today!!!!I ALWAYS love to see you!You are like a RAY OF SUNSHINE!!!!!You found some really pretty things and your idea with the scrabble letters is adorable!!8 have an old scrabble game and you gave me a great idea!!All your glass pieces are lovely!!Enjoy all your goodies!!!!Have a great week!!😁🌹🦋🌼🐞🌻🌺🐧🐧🍎🍎😊
Thank you for taking us along to the yard sales. You found some really nice things. Things today are so different than they were in 1977. I think it's great that you found those magazine's. ❤
Hi Becky, What great treasures you found!! The green dip and chip bowl set is amazing!! And of course, all the amber pieces you found. I use two extra Scrabble game sets (both vintage, one is a 1953 Selchow & Righter set) to decorate with, especially for all the holidays. Thanks for sharing your yard sale finds.
Wow! You really hit the jackpot with the colored glass! So many beautiful finds!!! 😍 & that avocado bowl set it gorgeous! Great deals!! I'm bummed I missed our city wide garage sale weekend this year! Summertime is so much fun for treasure hunting!!
@MyLittleVintageHome I believe it! That's a bummer! You should go yo Google and see if any of the towns around you have "city wides" we have a website in our area that shows every town in Minnesota that participates, I believe & each town picks a weekend, and there will be soooo many all close together! It's so much fun!! ♡
I've been having fun with my Scrabble letters this past year thinking up words & phrases to celebrate the holidays and seasons-thanks for sharing yours with everyone - looks like many are inspired! The apples were my favorites, too.
I know right! She told me that she had a whole trailer full of Christmas still to go through and I started drooling. Hopefully I will get to go back when she goes through more of her things.
I have my moms Scrabble Game. I took the tiles and and spelled mine and my sister’s names for Christmas. I made Heart Ornaments with both my daughter’s name and my nieces names for them for Christmas. My mom had dementia and all of us played Scrabble with her to keep her mind sharp. Loved the haul from the yard sales! Great finds. Loved the apple S&Per’s.
What a sweet story Iona, I relate with you with your mom and her dementia. It is such a devastating disease. I love the scrabble tile ideas, so creative.
I think you got your $40 worth and a fun Saturday yardsaleing together to boot. I collect anthropomorphic fruit and those apples were so cute. Interesting fact: my son was born on the day of Elvis' funeral! Have a good time reading your great find.
Those were some very organized garage sales! One of my neighbors entered the neighborhood Christmas decorating contest and called me whining because he came in second. He asked that I go look at first place to see if I agreed with judges. I told him that I did because the guy had decorations synced to music and a baby Jesus, which is the reason for the season after all. This year he declared that he is getting a huge baby Jesus for his display. You found some nice items.
We used to have Woolco here in Utah. They have all closed. It was like a Target without the groceries. You found some cool albums! I really like country western music! Patsy Kline and Dolly Parton!
Wow some really cool stuff at those yard sales! Love the old books at that first sale and I collect old bibles. Cute Santa shakers? Hope that’s what you put away! Oh Elvis🥰 I loved him!!😢 Johnny Cash! Woohooo! 🎸 Wow can’t believe you got all that for $20.00! Especially the albums if they’re in good shape (? 🙏🏻) Cute scrabble display.
I noticed the Santa shakers and the Patsy Cline album at the first sale. I love both!! Also, I had that same Black Beauty horse book as a child. Thanks for the video! 😻👍🐈
Nothing was marked, we just made a stack and he gave us a price. He wasn’t charging much at all for things though. I would imagine it would have been between 5-10 dollars if not less.
@@MyLittleVintageHome thanks if he still has it? Do you think that he could ship it to me in Louisiana? I don’t play the guitar but I would use it as decoration so he wouldn’t have to be precious over the shipping, it is the coolest thing, thanks
In my house the first "go to" is a wooden piece because David can make it so easily. I do realize though that may not be the answer for most. But a small little decorative piece about the width of the door shouldn't weigh too much to move from side to side.

Great Video ❤ great Haul ❤ Good to see you on a Sunday😊
I would have gone crazy at the last sale !!!😮 Started collecting olive green glass in the 60s and now I am adding amber too!😁
It was SO hard to walk away from all that glass. I just don't have room for it all. If only I had a bigger house! 😉

I worked at a Sprouse Reitz! Wished I’d have bought some of that costume jewelry!
Thanks for the info ladies .How interesting to learn about the department store. I had never even heard of it before.
I am afraid of all I would have bought!! Great sales!
It was so hard to walk away!

Nice finds, sweet friend! You always find fun and unique items. Enjoy the tabloid, hehe! Xo ❤

Such a great collection of records! Love Patsy Cline, I have vintage lettered dice that I use to spell out things, right now mine spell summer.
What a fun Sunday surprise to see one of your videos! You scored some great records!
I still have to play them, hopefully they are in good shape.
Love it when you pop in unexpected! Nice finds!
Thanks so much Tonya, I am trying so hard to get ahead of filming so I can do more than one video a week. Sometime I succeed sometimes I don't. 😉❤️
I loved this video, you've brightened my day. ❤️

Oh my gosh! 🎉 That garage sale was the bomb!!!
I know right! She told me she had a whole trailer full of Christmas and I almost started drooling.
Love everything you got and yes the amount of glass for sale was amazing. I was hoping you would get those apple salt and pepper shakers. So cute!
You know I did! So cute! ( had to leave the big feet behind though! LOL) 😉
@@MyLittleVintageHome IKR! I think feet are gross anyway and the thought of actually using them to put salt/pepper on food 🤢
@@jenniferholston8650 lol! 🤣

I have a blind dog and we need to block her from falling down the stairs. I’m trying to decorate while blocking her. Any ideas?
Baby gates to block doors and stairs...you are a blessing to this little dog!😍

1953?
I was reading the magazine backwards. Lol!
