The amount of skill on display here is insane, especially as you nonchalantly give commentary for everything you're doing. Even though the repair didn't work out, I'm glad you took the time to show the whole process. Excellent video as always!
"Indy, I'm so glad you're not dead" Indiana Jones.
Great to see you Jason.
Thank u! Too bad for this repair. I held this phone for an extra bit waiting to record a video only to find that the "long screw damage" wasn't anywhere near typical. I should have known better!
Great to see you back, Jason. Fascinating, educational, and entertaining as always. Thanks for taking the time to share!
Great work as always Jason. Even if it wasn't the result you hoped for, it was very interesting and informative! Great to see you posting!
So great to see another video from you! Always love the commentary. Seems like these boards are just getting harder and harder. Funny hearing about you needing to "grow into" your tools lol.
I fully appreciate that you went for it even though it didn't work out. I learned so much during your process. You've got mad skills to talk through the whole thing explaining and pointing things out as you go. Hard luck but now you know what to tell the customer. I wonder if you will eventually have a bunch of failure signatures in IR that might help diagnose these problems rather quickly in the future and save you lots of time and effort. In any case, thanks so much for sharing this with your followers. Happy Holidays to you and the fam!
Great to see you posting again. I always enjoy watching your videos. Live confidently and peacefully
Thanks for this video, it is always nice to see you in action!!!
Welcome back, Jason! We missed you! It's such a shame that you wasted a couple hours on this hopeless repair. You knew it was that bad going in. Nevertheless, I enjoyed watching your expertise on display. Thank you so much.
Hi man! Good to see you back - nice video thanks for sharing
Unbelievable details and explanation process. It was like watching a movie for me “Thank You!” I wanted to order your equipment and test my skills at one point. The realization those probes were tweezers and not nose grips bought me back to reality. That job took real patience, focus and stillness few possess. Im not one of those few.
Again..“Thank You!”
Nevermind the outcome, you did a great job. Even though I am not fixing iphones, I enjoy watching your videos. Your calm, patience and positiveness is inspiring.
Wishing you well.
OMG finally a video from you!!! Since you last posted you inspired me starting repairing phones and posting on TH-cam 😊
great to see you back jason
I certainly hope these types of repairs are very profitable considering the amount of tedium and stress. You keep learning and advancing which can only result in a more successful business. Good on you !
This level of rework has increased my successful jobs per week consistently. I try to only do it when there is a good reason with decent odds of success. The board in this video was almost a guaranteed failure after seeing the CPU short. This video may actually prove one day that I did NOT damage that CPU! LOL
Nice to see you back…. Nice work as always👌🏻
👍 from 🇩🇰
Glad to see you back Jason ❤️
A pleasure to see you back Jason, as always when a see your video, I search the love button on TH-cam ❤
Holy crap! You're back! You're kicking butt man. Keep it up
I use wooden toothpicks to scrub face ID components and camera lenses when needed. Wood makes nice non-scratch tools!
Jason! What a lovely surprise! 😃Hi! I'm so happy to see that you're back in business. Take care and keep up the good work! 🙂
Thank you! I've hardly left the bench though. 😊
Jason , this isn’t a failure , it’s a learning experience !!!! And you’re really awesome dude , you really encourage me to do things and not give up , just learn and proceed !!!! Thanks for the great video!!!
Thank you!
Nice to see a video from you! I only got to watch part of it since it exceeds my lunch break. Hope everything is well!
Totally fascinating and application of a huge amount of knowledge. I’d have never thought it even possibly to replace components like that. Keep the posts coming and wishing you a great 2024. Thank you.
Great work and great watch Jason.👍
Maybe I'm weird, but this is fascinating to me. I used to do highly detailed pencil drawing that took many long hours. There is a real pride from the careful precise work that takes. No doubt you have a lot of patience.
Yaaaay, welcome back master!
Nice to see you back making amazing videos. 👍
I always enjoy listening to you talk
Thank you for posting. I enjoy your work.
After long time glad to see you Jason, and welcome back again
Good to see you bringing me another neat vid.
Very informative and useful thanks ! Pls post more often ! 😊
Good to see you back 😊
Yaaay, great to see you back Jason. Steve (UK)
Missed you buddy fantastic to see you back
Incredibly high skilled repair attempt! Bummer it didn’t work out.
Good to see you back.
This is my fav video so far. Wish i had the skills you do. I am only doing basic repairs.
Just finished watching today! What a great job you did there but what a bummer the outcome 😭
highest level of skills! mate you are an inspiration for me! Thanks Thanks Thanks
Been there many times. You did great work very skilled
I love your being honest to us. I love your video always
Nice to see bro you started iPhone cpu transplant good going let me know if need any tricks on that learnt from your videos a lot in my starting days
A master at work, great job anyway 👍😉… all the best from 🇬🇧
Thank you! 👍
i'm happy you post wins and fails and don't just do win win win keep it real man
Thank you!
Great work, respect.
Best electronix fix video ever !
Thanks for the video :)
Great work!
Somebody really screwed up that board.
Yah for sure. All sorts of imaginary ideas as to how this happened!
Dang was wondering if you were buried under phones, lol. Thanks for the video Jason
Buried under life. I've never left the bench tho.. lol :-) Thanks for commenting.
@@ststele jason please share temperature in the process
How much temperature is required for board separation and for removing CPU glue???
Great to see you back Jason and sorry that you got screwed over on this one 10:08 ball squeezage !!!! my weekend is complete 😎
Nearly 4 months of CPU level rework and not a single ball shared! I greatly needed this time to focus. Although every day I woke feeling anxiety for not posting. Tough balance for me really. 🙂
Good to see you here! Thanks for commenting.
Very cool to see the process even with the result
Very cool to see the process even with the result. 👍
awesome, thank you for this video
thank you great video
Thanks very much for the video Boss❤️❤️🔥🔥
impressive work!
Thanks a lot!
Sucks it was a no fix especially after all the effort of reballing the CPU. It was great to see a new video. And appreciate the work you did on my purple S9+ transplant.
Thank you! I am very glad for that to have been successful! Many videos on this channel had the "hands view" recorded with a galaxy S9 plus. That phone had to die so yours could be recovered! I had a donor just for it but some comonents were still needed. It's been upgraded now tho! 🙂
You might not believe me but Im watching the whole thing no skip just to get some tips and tricks on cpu reball ang also temperature settings, airflow etc.. Thanks man.
I had thought that you had fallen out of the feed that Apple was sending me glad to see that you're back
if my life depended on it I couldn't get my hands to work with that tiny of a component, in all honesty and engine block is too small now !
your research is very great. you are great teacher like jessa jones (ipad rehab). I appreciate your hard work. thanks man
Thank you!
nice work
Very good repair video sharing, very helpful to me, thank you for sharing.
E do mojega... ovolka muka badava😉👏U svakom slučaju bolje je pokušati nego ne pokušati.❤👏Tnx You and welcome to 🇷🇸 Serbia💪😁
Great video Jason too bad it didn't turn out as planned
I am using wooden sticks that are originally used as spoon replacements at coffee shops. I just cut the ends at 45 degree angle.
Was edge of my seat the whole way. Well done!
Great video again sir.
Thank you! I still have this board here. One day I might come back and replace the RAM to see if it would work.
@@ststele sounds great!
Love this long videos
Amazing skills ! This is a joy to watch ! Might try to fix a i phone my self :)
Thank you!
Interesting you being careful when cooling lifted chips. I have seen lots of videos where techs use alcohol on very recently changed components. Thermal shock would be an issue I believe.
hey dude been a while love your videos , fyi i am in australia
Just professional.
Thanx, Sir
The difficult ones make the best videos.
Hello, great video. I will definitely try your method soon. Can you please tell me what temperature you are using on the preheater for CPU ?
Great work. I just picked up a bottle of Mechanic S-60 BGA IC Strong Glue Removal solution. Its supposed to make it easy at removing the underfill on Apple CPU's. I have yet to try it, but you should definitely look into it!
IT WORKS GOOD
this is a part of our job man, nice job
Hey Jason do you perhaps have a link for those ufo stencils you used in this video ?
Try some paint strippers you can buy in your area in a damaged processor
Thank you! I am going to try this. I have only ever tried flux, IPA and acetone.
NAIL POLISH REMOVER is the enemy of epoxy!!
I love your videos! Best on YT!!
Nice reball ... Good video showing how to do it Is lots of work The shirt is definitely awesome I would rock one ... But probably not doing cpu reball haha lol
THank you! I had this shirt listed as "merch" under these videos but after buying one for myself, the orange was so very pale and the price was so high, I wound up taking it off.
great work
Thanks!
You are amazing.
I fill my tip with 138 and collect and mix all the pins.
After that i use air and as soon as pins melt with 138 now i use a non sharped round blade and remove all with solder and black glue together
First time here. Great job. Can you switch the nand to see if it works? For fun.
It's a roll of the dice my friend. But you did a very good job in the very least.
You are the Bob Ross of repair...
LOL thanks!
I'm surprised you haven't attempted a glue removal with a solution of acetone along with the heat or something 'magical' like 'goof off' or the like.. Maybe it would be as much of a mess, plus the flux is probably similar to either. Nice work anyway, you speak so well explaining your motives and procedures.. Nice work, as usual!!
Thank you! I appreciate the compliments. I have tried acetone and some other consumer grade solvents but are mostly too weak. Months ago I tried an industrial strength solvent that was sold as "BGA-IC glue removed". The results were terrifying! Not only did it remove the glue but it also removed the coating from the bottom of the CPU exposing all of the traces. I only had it applied for 10-15 minutes. The bottle suggested to leave it in contact with the glue for 20 minutes! Now I do this by hand using a #15 xacto blade. Also have a technique that leaves most all of the glue behind on the board when removing CPU.
@ststele Hi, I'm just wondering, would it be possible to use your thermal camera to assist you when you are trying to heat up components evenly?
Great try Jason… looking forward to more videos…
oh finaly a new video
i would love to know what that tool is that your scraping the glue off of the cpu with
hey, @Jason I've been watching your videos and I love them, I'm leaning to repair cellphones, do you by any chance have a microscope that you do not use anymore?
Hello thanks for watching my videos! Sorry but I only have my one functional microscope. The scope I upgraded from got damaged when we moved but we're fixing it for another station now.
Welcome back1 Love the videos!
I wonder if there's some way to dissolve the glue under the CPU with solvents without destroying the cpu? Would be something curious to test. Acetone or Dichloromethane? Might be a bit too strong though.
Thank u! I think people are actually using Dichloromethane with great success. I'm going to try something stronger soon. I've only ever used IPA, acetone & flux.
Oca glue remover works bit better than ipa
Very good efert
Have you tr8ed naphtha as a solevent base for rem9ving the epoxy
Magic temp is 190C & 3 minutes and 40 seconds to separate 12 - 13 series.
