ngl this quote has always stuck out so much to me not just bc of gojos distress but like… the six eyes are what made gojo a special grade from birth and they’re his most identifiable trait and the core of his powers and everyone sees him as the strongest bc of them. and in that moment gojo didn’t listen to the very thing that make him gojo satoru just because “my soul tells me otherwise” their dynamic is SO well written

For more context, prison realm needed a minute in Gojo's mind. When he saw Geto, his mind was flooded with the 3 years of jujutsu high when Geto and him were still together. That's why he was sealed almost instantly.

Also, he finally looks like a real corpse (pale&white) during the reveal which I think was a great difference in the scene between viewers finding out the truth and before that.

I think my favorite part of this episode was actually something quite subtle. It's revealed that the only reason why Geto's body got taken over is actually because of Gojo's sentimentality: he never handed Geto's body over to Shoko so she could properly get rid of it (I'm guessing cremation?). It's such an offhand comment and the moment goes by so fast but it's jarring to think just how much stuff was influenced by the sheer magnitude of the bond Gojo and Geto had: Gojo refusing to hand over his body led him to be possessed by the main villain, and in turn gave them the only way to catch Gojo offguard by shocking him with the sudden appearance of his dead best friend. Gojo's decision inadvertently led to his own sealing, and him being sealed changed the fate of those in Shibuya.
yeah there's alot of stuff going on in this ep. It's kinda hard to notice something this subtle if you don't read the manga.
It can't be cremation, because they previously said in the series that jujutsu sorcerers need to be killed with cursed energy, because otherwise they could reappear as a curse

gojo didn’t have shoko get rid of the body not because he was too attached to geto but because of his consideration to shoko. she was friends with geto aswell, gojo didn’t want her to have to see it

Gojo is the strongest but his biggest weakness was Geto, his one and only, his best friend and the curse that took over Geto's body knew that so he used it to his advantage. This was like one of the most heartbreaking scenes as a manga reader.

@@Trixcy no, it was a domain expansion of 0.2 seconds (two tenths of a second as they said in the anime) which left everyone stunned for more than 5 minutes, so in the time everyone was stunned, gojo killed all the transfigured humans

And then it all came flowing into his brain. Three years of his youth. Even though it was just an instant, for Satoru Gojo, one minute had long passed.

Can we take a moment to acknowledge that THIS WHOLE PLAN, which had been set into motion since the start of the series, relied on the belief that Gojo would be rendered so emotionally compromised by seeing Geto again he'd be physically unable to move? Like Fake-Geto kept himself hidden this whole time just for the dramatic reveal, assured that all his scheming would come together nicely because he knew Geto was essentially Gojo's one weakness. Or, at least, the one weakness they needed to exploit to seal him away.

The thing is Geto suguru IS gojos weakness and the curse knew that and took advantage of it to seal gojo. Had gojo killed geto when he left jujutsu high or cremated his body NONE of this wouldve happened. He wouldve never gotten sealed if he didnt get distracted by getos appearance, geto is gojos one and only weakness

I like the power scaling of this show. Just because Gojo is the strongest doesn’t mean he can’t be touched or beaten. This episode shows that if you know your opponent and have a good plan, you can win against someone stronger than you. Toji also showed this too. It shows that you have to be calculated to win and not solely based brute force (aka cursed energy).
Full honesty, I never once considered that Geto might not actually be Geto. The concept of it being the real him was just so compelling on its own that even though the question of how he survived after the movie was present, I never doubted that he had. The Brain was a twist that caught me completely off guard in such a good way.
I'm sure people have already said this before but please avoid twitter and other social media platforms like the plague for jjk spoilers, especially after the new manga chapter release. Aside from that, awesome reaction like always! Hope ya'll have a great weekend!

So the Prison Realm needed Gojo to stay in a 4m radius for 1 minute *in Gojo's perception*. The reason it got him that fast is because when Gojo saw Geto, his whole highschool life of friendship with Geto flashed before his eyes, so he basically relived years of memories in a few seconds. In his perception, mentally, he went through YEARS(so more than one minute already), and that's how he got sealed.
So then what was the point of the whole fight? it seems pretty easy to get someone to think of 1 minutes worth of memories. All Geto really had to do was show up from the start and he’ll stand there in thought unless there’s something I’m not understanding.

1.) Gojo would generally know about the prison realm from the very beginning and would not let himself be trapped, so the plan would fail.
2.) A physically exhausted man is more susceptible to letting his mind wander, which is exactly what got him trapped.

@@leespn4396 I agree with your reasoning and that’s kind of what I was thinking except it still seems like a stretch to me I and I think they went far beyond what they needed to to capture Gojo. I think it would have been better if they hid the box from his view and Geto kept him talking for 1 actual minute instead of 1 minute in his mind as I feel that makes it way too easy.
I also don’t get why Gojo didn’t try to run from the prison box when he saw it or why they didn’t try to hide the box in case he did. I know he’s in shock from seeing Geto, but he’s got to have priorities when he could potentially be imprisoned for 1000s of years. Any thoughts on that?

That was the beginning of all nightmares and hell.
The moment Gojo saw Getou, his memories of the years he spent with him came flooding back. In other words, several years had passed in his mind in an instant.
That fraction of a second domain is the most impressive thing Gojo has ever done. He did in the best way he could to save as many people as possible while eliminating as many threats as possible

@@slimshazy2819 This one is just more impressive imo, because of the principle. They put Gojo in a checkmate, kill everyone and win or don't kill everyone but risk letting the disaster curses win. He took an insanely risky and tedious middle route to eliminate as many threats as possible while reducing the casualties to a minimum.
As impressive Gojo vs Sukuna is, he's more free there and can go all out. Also add the fact that Gojo is better alone, so the fact that in Shibuya he is in the worst situation possible he managed to still one up the villains (almost) makes this the most admirable feat Gojo has ever pulled off.
So now you understood why Geto was like this! Because he's dead since Jujutsu Kaisen 0. It's not him in season 1 and 2 (except for the 5 first episodes), but an ancien sorcerer using his body. And this person knew Suguru was Satoru's only weakness. Because even hundred of transfigured humans didn't make him emotional. But Suguru was the person he loved the most in the world. Even 10 years after... So, the sorcerer's plan was in fact the only way to get him. If Satoru got rid of Suguru's body, this would never have happened, but he couldn't, so... Damn the relationship bewteen these two is so tragic and sad, and beautiful.

I just realized Mahito made the woman who Yuji spoke to die in the same way Junpei got transfigured. He really is evil incarnate as a curse.

Ah! I’ve been waiting since the episode came out! This episode has some of my favorite panels of the manga, the next one also has one of my favorite panels.
And yes, Satoru processes information differently, way faster than anyone else because of his Six Eyes.
The manga translation is also better “My Six Eyes are telling me you are Geto Suguru… but my Soul knows otherwise!!” His expression is also more desperate, more heartbroken.
But this episode?? 10/10, they killed it.
I’m so hyped for all the anime onlys experiencing this for the first time, when I watched it on my own I was hyped, but seeing you all enjoy it so much really gives me chills!!
one important thing to know is that the one in Getos body is NOT a cursed spirit. This is not a spoiler. Rewatch season 1 ep 7 at the end when "Geto" is talking to hanami.

About Gojos gamble, since everyone seems to kinda get it wrong. Gojo did NOT kill anyone in the timespan of his 0.2 second domain.
He opened a domain for 0.2 seconds, closed it, then while everyone was stunned from 6 months of information being shot into their brain, he started killing.
Everyone was stunned for over 5 minutes as Gojo took 299 seconds to kill all the transfigured humans without hurting any of the normal humans.
299 seconds for 1000 kills sounds slow for Gojo, but he didn't use any techniques, just his hands, so it's very impressive.
He didn't attack any of the curses because they are so strong that only a 0.2 second domain can't reliably keep them stunned.
So stimulating their body by attacking them might've just woken them up, so instead Gojo focused on getting rid of the onethousand transfigured humans while he could.

Even though the domain ends, ordinary humans will still be in a coma for 2 months, except for special level curse demons like Choso, Jogo and Mahito they only need a few minutes to wake up.
One of the coolest deaths / flexes I’ve seen in anime. Can’t wait to see how the rest is adapted.

There's no special grade sorcerers on this mission right now and we have Jogo, Mahito and fake Getou. The only one that can kill Mahito is Yuji but that's only because he has Sukuna in him without him Yuji wouldn't be able to hurt Mahito and will also be completly fodder against his technique, the only reason Nanami and Yuji survived against Mahito last time was because of Sukuna and that was a weaker Mahito at that.
I was blubbering when gojo saw geto that scene hurt my heart so much havent cried from a show in a long time but that moment just hurt

Remember he was controlling curses in three different cities at the same time. kenjaku said it himself.
nah kenjaku is 100% underestimating yuta. it’s been brought up so many times that I think yuta will definitely kill him.

I have never been more heartbroken in my life, I knew it wasn’t him bc i got spoiled. But I literally was sweating and screamed when he said hi, I had also seen the manga panels of the reunion and was fearing this exact moment since the first episode of Shibuya, it was done perfectly. I just want yall to know its a relief to know its not him inflicting Gojo all this pain. It is still fucked his body is being used by that ugly ass. I miss him so much 😢

This reveal of Geto not being Geto finally answered something I've pondered: why is Geto teaming up with Curses? I know his entire ability is to absorb and then use them, but teaming up with them is entirely different. Even more so, these Curses are intelligent enough to want to exterminate all of humanity because they are "the new humans." The Hidden Inventory/Premature Death Arc shows that he only kills nonsorcerers to rid the world of Curses. He still had the same focus in the movie. I also had a theory that Shoko was the one who healed him and was the mole, but this arc keeps proving me wrong lol.
I jumped into the manga shortly after this point, so the anine has been all new to me since season 1. I've been waiting for thjs reveal for you guys though!
