Boeung Keng Kang area (BKK1) has been considered the foreigner’s quarter since the 80s. BKK1 has long been home to many NGOs as well as businesses catering to expats and tourists, and is now booming with new restaurants, coffee shops. bars and hotels. Hotels in the area tend to be lower mid-range and upscale boutique places. Dozens of restaurants are scattered across BKK1 with new ones popping up all the time including international brands like Burger King, Domino’s and KFC.
