Interesting fact: the reason people think frogs say "RIBBIT" is that it's the distinctive call of the Pacific Treefrog, the most common frog in Hollywood. So, when filmmakers needed background noise or frog noises, it's what they used, and so it became the frog noise.

A lot of people must never have spent a night in the countryside in the Midwest. Tons of frogs make a call similar to “ribbit”

That's every patch bro, where have you been lol? The real issue is that Blizzard is too cheap to hire playtesters so they have us do it for free instead, it's not a mistake it's by design.

They could probably afford to hire over 100 highly paid full-time playtesters to do this and it would amount to a rounding error in their budget. In any case they wouldn't necessarily have to do that, they just have to run simulations of games thousands of times and let the computers do all the number-crunching. They're professional programmers, they should know what they're doing... but evidently they are far too cheap, and possibly too lazy or incompetent, to do it.

They didn't test ANY, though. If they had run a playtest of a game with dragons in it, they would have found the bugs with those. One single game with eight people internally. That's all it would've taken.
They didn't test even a bare minimum amount.
The only trick is actually getting the build when everyone is trying to make it.
well, that's what Tess's hero power is for, if everyone has pieces you just get tos teal them every turn
@@anon2447 + it's an early game build. A lot of times she can steal a good build but starts it a turn or 2 late. Hard for her to stabilize late game builds. Not this one
@@Ouroboros70 Another big thing about tess is that so many builds are about scaling outside of combat. Yea you got a kalegos off your opponent, but they already started scaling before you. This comp while also being early to give time for her to build it also has zero scaling needed. The only "scaling" that exists is taunting and giving the various items reborn which is small in comparison to any other tribes scaling tactics.
You know I thought it couldn't get as bad as the dragons going HP nuclear (which promptly got nerfed).....and then this happens. You can tell this update was really well tested for balance.
Everything is balanced when everyone has nukes :/
Leapfrog just leapfrogs the process of players quitting the game by one expansion
The new two drops are so good I that I power level to tier 2 every game.
The fact that the deathrattles stack is the broken part so you get log based buffs on stuff. Honestly hope it gets removed because of how busted strong it is and Tess is the best hero for it because you can just build it off everyone else in the lobby N'zoth 2nd because fish copying while also buffed
If it was "deathrattle, a friendly minion gains +4/+4 and if it doesn't have this deathrattle, it gains this deathrattle." it would be fine and still okay. A way to spread some buffs around etc.
The fact that it's a two drop is the busted part. Leapfrogger would be absolutely fine as a six drop. There would be a grand total of what, seven? There's 15 2 drops. It being insanely good isn't a bad thing, there's always been a super dominant late game build. That being a 2 drop is stupid though.
I never thought about the insane stacking. Yesterday I transitioned from Frog into Wolf. Now I realise that it was silly to do so.

Just finished a game using leap-froggers after seeing this video, SO BUSTED. I didn't even high roll like you, they are just so strong. Instant 1st place. Best enjoy them before they get nerfed.

yes. only option is Zap, but it can be countered like Dog did in this video.
@@ahtoshkaa And now, 1 day later... there has not been 1 game with beast where not at least 3 or 4 persons are trying to get this build. Who succeeds, wins the game. Absolutely destroying the game right now (for me at least). Zapp is indeed to easy countert.
Think a good nerf would make the Frog physically leap on other minions. Logic like that exists in Constructed, on a couple cards I can’t remember. Suffice to say, since the card itself is moving somewhere that movement can’t be repeated, since it no longer exists in the original position. Frog keeps it’s infinite stats, but not exponential gains.
or just make it +1/+1 instead of +2/+2 because it's only a 2-drop. That would be a significant and easy nerf.
@@BennyR92 The stats double every time it triggers if you have baron. Changing 2/2 into 1/1 is inconsequential and wont solve the problem that it grows exponentially if you have baron.
@@GwnMartijnXD instead of 2-4-8-16-32 it would be 1-2-4-8-16 so with 5 triggers it would be -31/-31 in stats for your board already, the nerf would get bigger the more pieces of the puzzle you'll get. I think that is a very consequential nerf. And a 3/3 that gives only +1/+1 once or twice to your board in the early game is totally fine for a 2 drop.
@@BennyR92 I doubt it actually would be that consequential of a nerf in actual gameplay though. I mean in raw stats yes, but the problem isnt that as much as that theres an exponential growth curve with Baron (that just grows steeper with triple Baron/bird). If you look at dogs board in the end here it would be just as busted with half the stats - which is saying a lot. I think youd need to adjust the function of the deathrattle so theres no exponential growth loop anymore.
Or just dont have it stack. That way it's a decent 2 drop for beasts that can provide some tempo. When it dies, just give its effect to a random beast that doesn't have the deathrattle, but if all beasts already do, then just apply the +2/+2 effect. It still synergizes with macaw and baron, but isnt stupid strong and is acutally worthy of being tier 2. At least thats my idea

At 21:43 macaw activates rat. It gives +4/+4 a few times. Then macaw activates a frog which starts giving +8/+8. I can find no logic for +8/+8 to be justified.
The frog says to give +4/+4. The frog had several frogs on it, not just 1. It's not about 4+4 equal 8. More like 4×6=8.
Is leapfrogger extra strong because of a bug, like the whelp smuggler?
The boosted stats keeps going. One activated deathrattle gives some +4/+4, some +8/+8, some +12/+12 etc. Something is afoot.
I appreciate the effort to mix things up, but I do prefer the vibe of the old music over this Lofi stuff

If there's something to fix with Leapfrogger, maybe it's the Macaw. Right now, seems like Macaw picks one minion, the copies all of its deathrattles. Perhaps Macaw could only copy one deathrattle on a minion. If Macaw only ever triggered +2/+2 rather than going exponential, Leapfrogger is probably in line with a two star unit.
Playing Illidan and putting Zapp in final match to kill Golden Baron despite opponent having a hydra was the most satisfying random attack I had in BG. Also my Ghastcoiler beat dragons after it summoned Omega Buster and Kangor, ended the combat with 20/20 microbots.
Enjoyed music without drums more, but I guess that's preference

Got to top 4 on a game yesterday and all 4 were on leapfroggers. After everyone else died, I didn't get to play a single turn of the game for the rest of the game, because the fight animations were taking too much time (was playing on mobile).
Each time I heard I don't want more beasts, my eyes closed a little too tightly as I waited for you to notice.

Would playing beasts as the classica Parrot/Baron/Goldren/Hydra but with Frogger instead of Goldren be better than having token death rattles? I tried it and I easily got a +600 Hydra that basically solos any comp atm.
I know that having tokens makes you double (or even triple) dip on your Froggers for longer but that's assuming your Baron/Parrots survive long enough to do that but having a cleave that quickly reaches +200 attack before your taunts are dead is more reliable (IMO) than hoping that your support units don't get insta sniped like what happened against Daryl Elemantals that had Windfury. there's the advantage that tokens counter poisons I guess.
I think it's due to the scam poison divine shield stuff which the beast build can lose to regardless of how much stats you get. It's partly why the final form of the build had a gold selfless in it. This pretty much counters that build.
Between that and dragon... thats all people force every lobby now
And they said the Razorgore Whelpguy interaction was broken at first ^^ Granted beeing Tess in this lobby helped with completing the comp.

Even RDULive had a match yesterday Vs a 3million/3million bird bc of n'zoth and leapfrogger. After the turn, the n'zoth died. 😂
The association with the word 'RIBBIT' with frogs is attributed to onomatopoeia. Close your mouth and loosen your lips and say ribbit. That's how a frog sounds.
Same with a lot of animal sounds when you think about it, only Sheep and Cows really sound immediately like their 'Animal Noise' to me.

Battlegrounds is basically unplayable right now unless you enjoy racing for the leapfrog build. I did beat it the other day with poison murlocs, but it was pure luck.

I just had a game on Tess with 3 golden birds, 2 golden frogs, a spider, and a golden baron. Every golden had reborn... my last frog got to 465k - 465k xD
Dog on tier 3 : I wanna go for a 4 drop here, so I take second frog here and level. That way I can get a 6 drop
I had a full board and only 1 enemy 200/200 Macaw left ... it wiped my full board and ended at 42k /42k. Seems a little bit OP :D
Solid nerf to it would be proc the leapy boi deathrattle first always. So you don't get it spreading to spawns.
No idea how the coding would go on that for baron interaction. But it would solve the comp early.
you should try illidan with leapfrog. get reborn and triple baron and you can get 12k rats. I had the craziest game ever it took so long 2 shop turns were just canceled out.
I dunno if you'll read this, but I hope dog turns up his volume. I have to crank my volume knob when I watch dog stuff and it blows out my eardrums if I forget to turn it down before doing anything else.
Found out today that a bomb build is a pretty hard counter if they haven't upped the stats on their units.
The comp has a high opportunity cost though, you have to get all the exact pieces to make it busted, like you did in this video 👍
This is far superior to goldrinn beast build and far easier to attain. You need very little to make this complete.
@@marcleblanc3225 While it is far superior, it is not easier to achieve. In fact I'd argue that it's harder, since the build is a lot more sought after than the Goldrinn ever was. Thus the needed pieces are harder to come by.

For the first one, the deathrattle will move to a different beast, so the macaw will always trigger it.
For the second one, macaws trigger ALL deathrattles of a single minion. By delaying them like that, you’ll get the hyenas and the +2/2 for every macaw.

Can anyone explain how the leapfrog deathrattle is procting? Because with baron and bird it seems to double down on stats ive ended with 800 800 stats but from a +2/2 deathrattle it doesnt add up
Every time macaw attacks or baron procs the number of frog deathrattles is doubled i.e the first frog gives 2/2 the second gives 4/4 then 8/8 and so on, until a minion has 100s of frog deathratles

If the enemy doesn’t have a poisonous heavy board it’s better without rat.
They grow way bigger that way and macaw buffing itself at the end

Yesterday I was having the best game ever, leaper frog Tess with 2 fishes stolen from Nzo'th... it would bring the board back and fully divine shield it again... it was a recovery game... but then, I won a game but the game decided that I shouldn't be winning and gave me a loss --' pretty sure it was something with reborn similar to Lich King back in the day...
Man, those are some weak ass frogs, I've gotten a couple gamers where my units have broken 2k power

Zapp is the only chance, if they play around it then your best bet is windfury or mega windfury
