@@DmitriyAdvthat’s so interesting because everything I see says the opposite. That the 390 is a low end torque monster and the 430 is a revvy ripper. My riding preference would be to have a smooth initial throttle with good torque. Not an instant snap on the bottom. Then a midrange pull the keeps going. I’ll rarely get into the upper rev range but as long as the pull doesn’t hit and bite - I’m good. What I don’t like is a delivery where it’s very on/off or jerky. I find that exhausting.
@@UnicornMoto It's all relative... so it depends on what people are comparing them to.Tthe 430 definitely felt like it had more bottom end to me than the 390, it just feels like a bigger engine. Where at if you get put on a 350 or a 390 without seeing the sticker (and not having ridden either before), you'll have a hard time telling which one you're on. If you get put onto a 430, you'll immediately know that you're on a 400cc+ bike. You can even hear it in the videos, it just sounds like a big bore. Another example, when I rode Betas at Grizzbait years back, I was on a 430 the first day and 350 the rest of the days. You can hear the character of the engine change ~1:30 through this video. They were 2018's, but the engines haven't changed that much - th-cam.com/video/GNjw6z89qWk/w-d-xo.html That said, they all have plenty of bottom end, and while I never ridden a Beta I'd describe as "jerky", the 350 and 390 in my opinion are smoother and easier to ride.
@@DmitriyAdvWe had dual spark 2 strokes at our demo so they were 24’s . Bikes probably have been through a lot of plastics so dealers probably put what they had on them. Also, tires were 30psi at ours in some mud. Once we lowered them bikes felt way better.
@@BetaRacer24 I think the tire pressures were OK on these, but good point about demo bikes in general. I've definitely seen some demos with some weird setups.
It probably would sound better if I revved it a bit higher, but the whole place was wet death clay because of the rain the night before and traction was at a premium. So I was scared to really let that big thumper rip haha.
Nice job! Any more detailed comparisons with the 390?
I think they're different beasts - the 430 is a lugger and the 390 is more of a revver. The 430 definitely feels like more of a big bore bike.

I watched this a 3x. If what you describe is accurate (I don’t have a reason to believe otherwise) I think I’d really enjoy this motor.

@@DmitriyAdv I picked up a 430 RE today. Thanks for your insight.

👍👍
Betas are sweet bikes!
isn't that a 2023 ?
I was told they were all 24s at this demo day, but you’re right the plastics look like a 23

Sounds terrible. 😂
