It seems like it would take less time (and less stress on the tractor) to plow it first and then disc after a couple weeks.

Land pride don't have a 84" DH do they? I got a 60 it doesn't work the tire tracks. My Kubota 4701 seems able to handle lot more.
go right to 96" from the 72"
Would a rotary tiller work better?
Both work great in the soil I have, discs are a lot quicker

Just discing grass is all I see, sure doesn't know anything about farming,
