A few years ago I went through a poor phase so had no choice to no spend. However, when my finances improved, I carried on and saved a tidy sum. After having a blowout at Christmas, I'm getting back on the savings bug. I don't want lots of stuff everywhere, so also using things up. Also, since going carnivore/meat based, I no longer have a food cupboard full of carbs and grains except for spices and cans of coconut milk. Meat, eggs, cheese and cream in the fridge and freezer, that's it. Keeping things simple is freeing.
Some good tips! I hate to spend money for fear I'll need it. We live on a very small income. My husband does the shopping and my goodness he waste so much money. He wants to do the shopping so I don't try to fight it anymore. I just let him be. I try to get him to use coupons but he won't. So it is what it is. But for myself, I don't buy anything unless I really, really need it.🦋🦋❤❤🦋🦋❤❤🦋🦋❤❤
I’m out- home renovations, school holiday activities before my daughter starts prep, January sales, family members birthday and back to school in the last week of January 😂😳 I think I’ll just do a low spend year instead. Love your outtakes at the end 🤣
With many things you listed I would class those as a need because it’s birthday celebrations etc it’s the going to Kmart cause you saw someone online with it etc
I'm obsessed with spacemaker too! I was like OMG finally someone who's just showing it in 'real life' I nearly applied for her to come to my house as I thought why not but then I realised actually if I just do I see them doing - then it would work and it did. I have the declutter videos on my channel - I'm still going through the house
Hi, Kelly! I've been doing a 'no spend' January for many years now. I've always called mine a 'spending moratorium'. I am planning on doing it through the end of February this year and, with luck, even to the end of March. We'll see. It's Day 8 into the New Year and not a penny spent! Bills will be coming in soon and they will get paid, but my goal is to increase the amount of money I have in my savings. Thanks so much for your encouraging words. Great video, as always. Many blessings from VERY chilly Ontario, Canada! (BUT!!, we have sun shine!
Hey Kelly, awesome video as always. Great idea to have a no spend month! I'd find it too daunting to do a no-spend year! You discussed some good topics which are close to my heart too, thanks for sharing and loved the bloopers!
I realised watching this im doing a " no spend January " without knowing it😂 We have some big bills due so strict budgeting for January. So far I'm really enjoying it, I love the challenge. The rest of the family aren't enjoying it so much😂😂
It's so good hey! It's just the little things like -'oh ill just go to kmart for a container' oh no wait I can't LOL - I'm documenting it as a vlog too so stay tuned...
@@FrugalFunMumi live for it. I read the Anita Bell book , how to pay off your mortgage in 5 years, in 2005 and have been a budgeting addict since. My going to kmart for a container often turns out to be more than just the container, so trying to break that habit ❤
