Altough they were only two voidz, it is in my opinion one ofrece the Best interviews.... It has everything... I mean.. About songs, personal views, laughs And humor... Thank u guys!! Greetings from México, come back soon!!! :)
Tyranny is amazing and like Stryker said, people need to actually give it a listen! Because then they will find out how each song speaks to them. Rock On JC+the Voidz!
i love that Stryker was putting Julian right back to his place by being super appropriately serious but also very nice and polite, it's nice to see an interviewer who is actually interested in the artist and the music they make for a change
@@nimblittleminx Its not (for Julian) Julian knows interviews are for the most part straightforward and questions are already set up so all they have in mind is getting those questions answered. Julian would take a person who is doing their job as well as showing their love and passion for the artist and their project over some guy who does their job but doesn't care to who they're interviewing. Not only that Stryker isn't the type of fan to geek out and dismiss what Julian is saying so he gets attention, Stryker actually would listen and either add on to discuss more about the topic or carefully introduce the next question.
Julian is the definition of a true artist. Always pushing himself to evolve his sound and never staying put. This interview was brilliant, thanks KROQ.
This was a great interview. Love the non-generic questions and how detailed Styker is on his experience with the record. Excited to see them live this month!
THE MAN LIKES TO EXPLORE HIS ALTERNATIVES, GET USED TO IT he doesn't stick to just one sound, never did and hopefully never will cause everything he does is outstanding. Julian is truly amazing, he's such an intelligent man. I really like that he acts like a normal dude when he's actually been saving music since Is This It. I'd follow him with my eyes closed, those who are Strokes fans have to give Tyranny a chance cause it will blow your brains off. Of course you gotta be a little open minded cause IT IS something you have never heard before.
i wouldnt say everything he does is amazing, but i think hes always worth a listen bc youll likely get something new and thats the art of it. also i think he is just a normal dude, just happens to make really good music
Julian’s music with The Strokes and Voidz is really helping me through a dismal low patch in my life Only time I am feeling good is when listening to his music Definitely a legend
Same! His lyrics and music's really helping me ride the misery wave, I feel like it's stopping me being drawn too low into a dark hole of misery! I was going to say into the void! (Not the Voidz! Lol). Good luck getting thru it. Remember this too shall pass...
Julian is so cute. I love the way he explains things and how he really seems to need to "feel" how he creates the songs. We need more like him. Much love. 👏
the interviewer was so on point in saying you need to put in work when listening to the album.. taking in everything on the record requires active listening and all your attention. truly a masterpiece, cant wait to see you guys in detroit :')
No, Julian, you're gonna see some love comments!! I'm a fan of all your works. All your records are amazing. AHHH highly appreciated interview. Cheers to the legend, Julian Casablancas!
It's ironic how Julian plays along with the interviewer's remark with sarcasm because he has come to that realization long ago and that's just scratching the surface of his own deeper realizations. It's ok Julian, you're not alone.
This interview was amazing!!! It was all I wanted to ask Julian when I met him but was too starstruck to actually talk to him!! Thank you so much!!!!!!
I loved the interview, so honest and sincere, this Stryker fella did a great job putting across his experience with the album and touching on things that fans might ask.
Julian can never catch a break. I got the chance to meet him and actually chill with him... Like he literally invited me into his hotel room to chill with him and his friend. It all started over me saying I was a fan and talking about his music. No bull shit. I just talked about how I really like the feeling/vibe of the early stuff. As a musician I think I was able to say it in a way that made him feel wanting to engage in a conversation. The rest is history
Thank you for interviewing the Voidz. I really enjoyed the interview and your choice of interviewing questions. I can't stop listening to this album, ( on Pandora) I haven't purchased it yet. However I think this is going to be one of the greatest albums of our time. I have been waiting for an interview with the band since I heard the first tracks off the album Tyranny. I am geeking out so hard on the how innovative and the layers that the Voidz created when they recorded this record . I only hope that they come to Honolulu to play¡!!!!!!!!!
going to listen to Tyranny again to pick up those pictures. Would listen to this interview again just to hear Stryker's praises for Tyrrany. Colors man, colors. So spot on.
Amazing album! Went to back to back shows in Santa Ana and LA at The Wiltern. I was fucking floored! Just got back a few hours ago and the adrenaline is still flowing. I love you and respect you so much Julian. Never stop creating, the world has a lot to gain from your perspective.
Julian got so pumped up and happy when the interviewer said that he put the songs on his personal situations and like he’s on a movie 🎥 the gave Julian exactly what he wanted that was his high
+Carlos ETC96 I agree he might look like that, and yes no one knows his real character , but in every interview he's always been/look like that. So I am starting to accept that is his personality. Everyone has a different way of showing their comfortability in different ways. In this case the way he looks and the way he talks makes him Julian. All I know is that he is an artist that creates his own persona and talented music . He doesn't want to be known as a popular musician but instead a genuine and positively bizarre music. That to me is a true artist.
+Carlos ETC96 yaaaay ^ - ^ , well oh gosh that tyranny album consist of many really good songs! But I gotta say my ultimate favorite one is Johan Von Bronx ! I don't know but everything about it , the beat, his voice and rhythm is majestic . I wish to see him live one day. What about you?
Wonderful interview in celebration, so to speak, of a fantastic album! Tyranny is unique and thought-provoking while remaining catchy. Jake made some great points, and I agree completely with Julian's statement about there being a very clear distinction between "entertainment" and "art". Tyranny is art. Stryker definitely realized that while listening to the album. It's refreshing to see creative minds discussing art with the artists. There doesn't seem to be very much of that happening anymore.

Can somebody tell me the meaning of the hand sign Julian is doing at 25:58? I've already seen him doing this in the 11th Dimension and the Boombox video. Great Interview btw!
The fact that they recorded the album to sound the way it will live is such an example of being an artist that cares for their supporters. They want the music to be heard the way they made it and to have the emotion that comes along with it live. When recording instruments and voices separately, it is hard to find the same vibe and to grow together. When I put my voice on a song for my dad, I have to rerecord over and over until we match and it can be overwhelming. If I sang live with him instead and recorded like that, I think it'd be much more powerful and meaningful in the end. Julian is wearing the pin I made and gave to him 3 weeks ago. Life is so great. I love you julian.
you literally can't be this calm if Julian C is wearing something you made with your own hands literally i'd be dying but congrats on that
How cool, if I were you I would freak out :D
lol I made him a necklace and he hasn't worn it, he probably hates it haha
It's totally a tour relic
Delfina Garcia I freaked out so bad, I cried for like an hour. I can't believe he's still wearing it (':
Every time Julian speaks it looks like it hurts him its like he's digging so deep back in the vault to remember things he's physically hurts
Wtf are you talking about. You are nuts.

Do u know hom?

@ 3:35 it's so cute, you can tell Stryker's comment made Julian really happy. And he's trying to contain himself.
And Jules' reaction broke the camera.
Its Julian’s voice. I’m physically deaf. I can hear through my mind. Certain sounds, tones, and frequencies are physically soothing. 🥰

I just noticed that he always say that, I think he means it that way ☺️
"...And I still like to party bro" yessss! Great confirmation.

Best comment. SO much truth. But this interview killed it! So glad it was made.
