I've been riding 2 stroke honda all my life and this 4 stroke is insane. All my buds ride yzf 250's. I'm loving my 2022 250r. It ripps! It kinda feels and rides like 2 stroke but you got the Rev on command. I would recommend the 250r.
The '22 CRF250R has a combination of quick revving and free feeling power and actual lightweight that combine to give it almost 125 2-stroke like agility. The CRF250R is a very fun bike to ride - glad you are enjoying yours!
Trying to decide on a new Honda 450 or 250… I’m 160 pound 38 year old, prior c, now vet rider who doesn’t ride much. I have an old 2007 YZ 450f that hits hard like a tank and can only do a few laps on the track till I can’t hold on any longer. I rode a 2017 YZ 450f and it felt a lot tamer and linear with no initial arm pulling hit off the bottom to mid range, but I couldn’t ride it on the track because the bike’s front brake wasn’t working. I also rode a 2020 yz250f and it’s power range was of course lower, but still a lot of fun and much more manageable. I could ride it a lot longer without pumping up. I just had to make sure I didn’t screw the corner up to hit the bigger jumps and keep it in the meat of the power. I think I’m going to go with the 250, as I hear they turn a lot better. That was my biggest issue with my 07, it didn’t want to turn with the throttle on. The suspension wasn’t great either. Would like to have something less harsh than my old bike. I know a new 450 is literally decades better. A two stroke 250, sounds nice but I want a fuel injected bike. The KTM 350 would ultimately be the bike I want power wise, but I hear it’s not too great at Frontend feel. Which is what I would much prefer over added power.
While a lot of 250/450F's share the same or similar frames the riding experience is very different. The '22 CFF450R is very powerful and instant acceleration at any RPM or gear thanks to a lot of torque and power. The '22 CRF250R is about 12 lbs lighter and feels even lighter in motion thanks to less engine inertia. The '22 CRF250R has a very responsive engine with a broad and usable powerband that does require more engine RPM's to go fast so more shifting and clutching it to keep the RPM's up. "Fun to Ride" and agility it is hard to beat a '22 CRF250R. For effortless acceleration the '22 CRF450R will win. My favorite overall combination of power/weight/handling is a KTM/Husky 350 and both offer excellent front end feel (helped by the steel chassis). Nice to have choices!
I’m about 190 sometimes 185 and I got the 2022 250f and that bike pulls great and seems to have plenty of power it was a hard decision between that and a 450 but I don’t have any regrets
If you prefer lightweight feel and agility over power then it is hard to beat the Fun to Ride factor of a '22 CRF250R. If you prefer effortless acceleration in any gear or engine RPM the CRF450R wins.
You ripped the back nine sir! Nice. This bike is so much fun. Makes you feel like a kid. Lol
That is my 25 year old engineer son ripping the back nine...he has skills!
Yes he does

how fast could you go with it?
The stock gearing is probably good for 62~65 mph top speed (not sure though as I have never checked)
just got mine from the shop. my parents are making me wait until christmas to ride it so its inside my house next to my christmas tree lmao help.
Congratulations on your new bike. Gotta be tough not being able ride it but at least you can stare at it!

Looked empty there! Can't go anywhere in Ohio that isn't full on weekends. Even smith road and the cabin on weekdays! Nice shredding dude
Sometimes we luck out and Briarcliff turnout is light. That is my son - he can ride well!

Would you agree that the Honda CRF250R is more fun to ride that the CRF450R?

You gotta b good to ride that track without casing evertything..nice ride..
Yes - my son rides Briarcliff well though he did not feel comfortable jumping the uphill triple yesterday (he has not been on a 250F in a while)
@@mxengineer1 looked pretty damn good to me!
