I don’t know shit about renovation but every time I see her doing something to her bathroom I just internally yell “GRACE STOP WHY”
With every round of poorly applied paint remover another small piece of your heart is removed as well

Seeing that woman put on a welding mask to destroy her bathroom and then see that she is barefoot was certainly interesting.
also nothing on her arms 😭
Probably just a relative to 'I did a thing'
Right? I don't know exactly what tool she was using, but all I could think was one slip and she could have a toe gone
Safety equipment is a continuum not a specific point and she is continuing... or something lol

I think she had a head injury so she has problems with impulse control. Someone should take the camera away from her
I’m stunned that someone would think you can just....paint a sink
You actually can, but it involves a lot more sanding and specialty enamel, not just slapping 40 coats of gunky housepaint on and hoping for the best.
@@richardallen144 yeah enamel is one thing but this…
My mom's old apartment had a blue bathtub that had been painted white and the white was chipping off and I'd peel it off whenever I saw a piece loose, they did zero prep work on the original finish lmao
I'm stunned you got so many likes on your infuriatingly privileged comment. Some of us grew up in poverty, in shitty apartments, and had to make do with what was affordable. A lot of times that meant learning how to do things for ourselves, or what is commongly known as DIY. For us DIY were not just "fun projects" but actual survival skills. and yes, things like fixing the plumming, basic electrical repairs and believe ir or not - painting a sink or the entire bathtub because the state of it was horrific, was one of those things. And as a previous commenter said - it is in fact possible, it just needs to be done correctly.

Honestly the craziest development in this story would be if there was secretly someone trying to make sure Grace never finished her bathroom and the guy got blackmailed or kidnapped. It feels like the natural progression with this eternal remodel
First they offered him money to do a shoddy job which he accepted but eventually he was so torn up by guilt that he wanted to back out of the agreement and give her a nice bathroom. Little did he know he was signing his own death sentence.
The culprit? John Lowe's
Maybe we're all just bystanders in Grace's personal hell.

The Money Pit 3: Money Harder
Update on Grace: she finally got a reliable contractor to fix her horrifying bathroom. Now she is concerned about cracks in the wood in the bathroom that are simply appearing due to humidity. Her contractor told her not to mess with it or at MOST use a bit of wood filler. She is still...unsure. Her shower head broke somehow. Her contractor is...moving in???? With her????
Also she has a contact stuck in her eye that has been there for apparently more than two years???? Her eye looks infected. Very red. She so far has not properly addressed the endless comments begging her to go see a doctor. When she finally did reply to one (1) in a video, she glossed over the doctor part and just talked about how long it had been there. There is no evidence she has yet seen a doctor about it.
Also she spent a bunch of money on becoming a notary thinking she would earn 200 an hour based off of one (1) video she saw. She has not yet earned any money from this endeavor and has moved on to selling her art. She still lives in her home (what is left of it) so I assume she is making enough to get by.
God help this woman. Grace, if you are reading this, please go to an eye doctor. I'm begging you.

Ah yes the ghost in the shitter
@@rue6914 the lesser known sibling of ghost in the shell
BBC's Ghosts' plot isn't that far from that-
Actually, the whole ghost thing was made up. Sarah Winchester had no family and did like renovation, so she built, though most of the home was destroyed by earthquakes, making it look even weirder. She didn't have any guilt of guns, as most people didn't back then, however, she most likely believed herself to be cursed with the grief in her life and then with her husband's passing. She was a lonely woman left with a humongous fortune. Most of the "ghost stories" are overplayed by the media and even the tour guides of her own home to drum up business, I recommend you watch, "The Truth About the Winchester Mystery House," by Kaz Rowe on TH-cam, most, if not all of the talk of her is just gossip and profiting off a dead woman's trauma

I'm an architectural project manager. Trust me, you only want to do renovations once in a lifetime and dat's it. So according to her talk on Swell Entertainment, the head injury from that drunk driving incident left her with impulse control issues. Which is why she changes her mind so fast and why she jumps into projects even if her tools/skills aren't quite right. She's been a good sport about the videos going viral and seems like a nice person. (Editing to include she was struck by the drunk driver and a victim of the incident.)
I couldn’t handle sharing a planet with the lady. All those usable resources she non stop turns into garbage as a past time make me ache a little harder for the environment. We all have issues we struggle to keep under control. But the difference is that some people actually put effort into it while others feed their addictions for clout and attention. With that much disposable income she could put it into managing her impulse control, yet she decided turning into a trainwreck for the short-lived amusement of unbothered strangers is a better hill to die on.
Just so no one is confused, she wasn't in said car she got hit BY a car :(

At this point I'm convinced Grace's an artist. I'm not talking about her crafts skills, but the whole thing MUST be some kind of artistic performance
Well, actually it's moreso attributed to her brain injury, Grace has talked about it, that she was hit by a drunk driver while she was crossing the road and dragged by the car, the traumatic brain injury effected her impulse control immensely as it caused permanent damage to her frontal lobe and other areas
@@alecmcleod3306 Oh. Okay. I was being facetious, but if this is the explanation then I'm feeling bad for her. It's one thing seeing people making weird choices, but if she physically can't help it, it's a whole different problem...

Either in the gratification that social media gives to our brains with likes and comments, but also with things like trying to get bigger growth for videos like a collab with other creators might. I've needed new shower towels for like 3 months but I'm still using my crappy ones because I can't decide between dark teal (my absolute favorite color) grey (a nice neutral) or black (will hide the stains when I inevitably forget to take my makeup off before I shower). If I can't make a choice on a $40 purchase, I'm not even debating allowing myself to make any large buys. lmao
@@Delicate_Disaster dark teal is also my favourite colour and I was in the exact same conundrum. But I went and just bought the dark teal towels anyways and I highly recommend it. It's so lovely wrapping yourself up in such a lovely colour 😍 worth it!
@@Delicate_Disaster Black towels look amazing in the bathroom but they have to be really expensive so they don't shed. I learned that the hard way after buying three different brands of cheap, not so cheap and "holy f*ck how much?!" towels. They shed like crazy and there was black lint everywhere, including all over my skin after every use. Did every tip I came across with no help. Hope my rant helps :)
How do they afford this?? Are they heiresses or something? I need to know!
This is literally one of the most insane things I've seen online. Still just reeling from how she painted the sink green.
The chair too T_T
And an ugly green to boot! Painting the sink is...a vibe...to begin with, but at least make it a pretty vibe.
I know some of this impulse control might not be within her control, but tbh this sounds like it would be a nightmare roommate scenario if she was my roommate and this was a shared bathroom.
I feel like Chad Chad doesn't get enough recognition for all the edited she does in her videos, the subtle joke really make everything so much funnier
Like I gotta watch the shit more than once there’s shit I didn’t catch first time etc. Dangerous funny bitch
the sheer number of layers of paint in that bathroom remind me of those 100 coats of lipstick/nail polish challenges. Like when Jenna Marbles did all of them at once. I feel like both things would have the same texture if touched
I wonder how much her bathrooms total volume has decreased
It's so frustrating knowing that even when the new contractor is finished and her bathroom looks amazing, she'll still go back in and fudge with it
She has brain damage can't control it
Oh absolutely. Very frustrating
I never thought I'd get so genuinely infuriated by a renovator
It's more of an unfolding nightmare with her roomates/friends enabling her impulsive manic episodes instead of encouraging her to get help
You don't just "get help" and fix actual brain damage.
Though I would imagine they could find healthier avenues to channel her tendencies into.
@@SoulDevoured yeah that's also called helping 🙄
@@GothlyRaven the family already gifts her birdhouses and stuff
@@suides4810 that's nice tbh. i just hope she stops spray painting inside that is just so incredibly dangerous and also smashing her bathroom to renovate it with bare feet also seems dangerous, one slip up and it could unalive her.
@@suides4810 that literally isn't therapy babe please understand that things have to be worked through to help her because she's going to get herself evicted here
Imagine renovation simulator that actually is horror game in disguise, like some combination of ideas from P.T. and DDLC, where you just happily renovating your house, successfully completing tasks game gives you, but after buying more cheap paint (at the start of the game you don't have that much money) and returning back to bathroom, you suddenly see melting, bubbling walls, moldy ceiling and other sh*t, while game graphics becoming more and more realistic, showing every little imperfection you done. And from that moment it's only going downhill. You try everything to fix your mistakes while making it worse and worse, and game tasks becoming more and more chaotic and impulsive.
In the end, layers and layers of paint take all space in your apartment. You are locked in a small box with walls made from disgusting, filthy paint of different colors... There's one last black spray paint can in your hand. You decide to cover everything you created... Strong toxic smell. Your vision is blurring. Than everything turns black...
Trademark this before somebody steals it.
I'll look forward to seeing this on STEAM 😅😅😅
Legitimately a great idea
now THIS is a realistic horror game
i’d love this sm, like the main character can’t see how decrepit and fucked up their house really is until a certain point where it suddenly shifts to what it actually looks like. find a game dev asap!
Watching Grace's renovations feels like when I visit my aunt an uncle every other year or so and I literally don't remember where the bathroom is because the entire house is remodeled.
We got ghosted by a contractor that demolished our pool and then took all the money and disappeared. Our pool was basically a nasty pit for 2 years
Couldn't you sue him?
i feel like Grace is the sole definition of that one point people get to before they finally snap and completely lose all sense of humanity and i honestly feel for her
She got hit by a car Carol..
I wouldn't say all sense of humanity. She has brain damage from being hit by a drunk driver.
as a construction worker I don't feel a lot of pride in my work, but I gotta say, your poem to Robert really got to me. you're right Chad Chad, I'm gonna do better.
Grace's DIY TikTok is the modern day Lady Winchester Mansion
💀
At least lady Winchester mansion have a little bit of logic and lore (i think she added a room everytime one of her relative died)
Ya I don't think Lowes wants to be associated with that dumpster fire remodel.
She's literally recreating the movie The Money Pit w a perfectly fine home.
@@_Mushroom_boy_ really? I didn't know that. I thought that construction just had to be ongoing.
I love that you take a jab at the fact she has no idea what she's doing without being hateful in any way towards her /gen
The way she got from nothing to nothing is really relatable
I think thats my life summed up in a sentence- that lady is like my ADHD raccoon that ransacks my head and just starts doing things and then stopping, second guessing, and getting rid of them.
I am an interior designer and I cried/convulsed/suffered watching this 😭😭😭😭
Grace found out what paint was and decided everything was worth painting
For anyone curious, her bathroom is finished and looks okay now, the only issue is that the shower is at the hottest temperature and wont turn off and water keeps coming out
So it's not done cause you can't get a shower without burning your skin off or shit without taking a shower
@@toffiet3347 yes that was the joke. That it's not finished.
I think the problem with bathroom is that Grace was painting it too often for such a humid and often just wet spaces
Not to mention you should use special paint meant for the spaces like bathrooms and kitchens
not only does it feel like grace is living in the sims but also this is what my brain is like when i don't take my med and i cannot make a decision to save my LIFE so i end up dyeing my hair, shaving a design into the side, and then just shaving completely bald all in one night
That's not too far off from Grace actually; She was hit by a drunk driver, and got a pretty serious brain injury that destroyed her impulse control. The bathroom renovations are just a way to try and contain that lack of control. Her husband has recently been encouraging her to do bird house crafting; Because the excessive use of aerosol paints indoors is actually incredibly dangerous.
@@Nyx_Fey_ oh i have more in common with her than i thought! i already had pretty rough impulse control because of mental health issues, but i also have a brain injury i got in high school that essentially reduced any control i have to rubble. i just put it into my hair and probably like. smaller scale hobbies as compared to renovations
This makes me so nostalgic. My best friend in high school came from a really artistic family who would all just change shit up when they got bored so the house would look different everytime I came round, it had this exact vibe.
Did they do a nice job?

ayooo orbit
imagine being the roommate that moves in and you can't use your bathroom half the time cause it's always under construction lmao
This is the most stressful saga ever. Praying Grace gets some proper help with this soon.
My sister was renting a house. She decided to "redecorate" the kitchen. She put that plastic kitchen liner stuff, the stuff with the sticky backing, that has a marble design on it, that people usually use as a drawer or cupboard liner, all over the kitchen. She covered the cupboards, the cupboard doors and drawers, and even covered the countertop with it. It looked absolutely horrible, especially after a few weeks. It started peeling in some places, and it looked far worse than the cupboards and other stuff she covered with it.
After she moved out they had to replace the kitchen, among other things.
If you are going to redecorate, do it properly. She could have easily repainted the cupboards, with the proper paint, and if she really wanted to, she could have gotten the laminated countertop material to replace the countertops (properly). It isn't all that expensive to buy the laminated countertop stuff that's actually meant for countertops.
It will cost far more money in the long run to fix whatever "redecorating" you do cheaply without using the proper products.
never run out of home renovation content when you never stop renovating your home
I think what upsets me is that Grace said that people “made” her hire the contractor. No one made you do anything, people told you “Grace, bestie, this bathroom is a disaster. You should probably hire a contractor” no one kidnapped her dog and held it hostage till she hired a contractor
People create their own problems and then find any excuse to blame someone else for it.
@@michelleh.5225 She legit has a head injury, let's not blame her for having issues with impulses she has ZERO control over.
@@annoyingidiot6459 she does have a brain injury, but if she is unable to function without this level of impulsive behavior, she needs to be given medication, therapy, or a caregiver that can help keep her behavior under control. she is literally destroying her home, life, finances and mental health. a medical condition is not a blanket excuse to just do whatever - when you have a medical shortcoming, you get medical help until it is no longer such an issue.
@@foxbuns You act as if getting a caregiver, therapy AND medication is an easy thing.. Also you do NOT know if she is already trying to get those things?

Same! This whole tiktok account was my childhood. I don't want to speculate about a stranger's mental health, but I also wouldn't be surprised if there was an update at some point in the future where she's like "okay guys, so I probably won't be making as many renovation videos now."

Yeah my manic episodes are full of anger or artistic hobbies i have to do or ill puke and not eat
She also could have ADHD. It’s common for ADHD peeps to constantly want to change stuff
The thing that bothers me most about this is as somebody who worked in the flooring department at Lowe's you can get the look she was going for with the stencil by buying relatively cheap tiles and in a bathroom that says she would have spent less to just retile the bathroom floor then she did to paint it and then unpainted and make all that mess
It's like the universe is perpetually teaching her a lesson about thinking before doing and she simply can and will not learn it
imagine your new roommate walking in, and then you're tryna explain on why you turned their bedroom into an office when you knew they were coming-
You know it is going to be a disaster when tiktok is included
Just when I thought Grace’s situation couldn’t get any worse
This video is very old but I followed grace for a while and learned that before all of the tiktok stuff started, she was run over by a drunk driver. Like, run over as if she were a speed bump (her words)-very horrific stuff.
She mentioned she had a traumatic brain injury and is very impulsive because of it. Just throwing it out there because it does explain some things.
this reminds me of my bipolar mother’s impulsive home renovations that led to me living in the old laundry room for like a year with cement walls and floors and two walls that were actually curtains bc who needs real walls or privacy anyway (/s), or when she insisted that they put up drywall in an unfinished storage room in her house that was done wrong and led to the room (over the porch) tilting away from the house, or how she keeps insisting they’re gonna turn their creepy basement with dirt floors in some parts into a living space to rent out at some point
I'm so sorry you had to deal with that. I hope she got the help she needs & realized that she was hurting her children!
This was like an entire wattpad story having u on a roller coaster ride. One second ur worried and then “thank goodness it was fixed” and then worried again and then “thank goodness that turned out fine” and then u gonna be mad and dissapointed bcoz she destroys it “wtf she doing” and then she'll redo it again and then near the end “thank goodness she hired a professional” and then completely go “wtf is happening” and then back to being worried whether this would be a happy or a sad ending.
