I grew up with Legos, and I can tell you that the thing I enjoyed most (and I still enjoy this) was putting something together, then taking it apart, then putting something else together, then taking that apart, then putting something else together, then taking that apart, and so and so forth. From what I've seen of the Lego video games, that part of it is missing; so, I never found a reason to play them.
If Lego wants me to take interest in one of their games, they should make one that's strictly about building things, then taking them apart again. If they want to place a limit on the number of Lego pieces that can be used, they should make it a high one. Just have a menu at the top of the screen showing all the different types of Lego pieces, as well as a color wheel; and I, for instance, will do the rest. 3D-Tetris-style controls so I can place the piece and a shadow to show me where the piece will go, and a delete option in case I place a piece where I don't want it, should be all I need. No time limits, unless it's for tutorial puzzles. I, for one, think interactive entertainment should be entertaining.
As for this particular game, I suppose it was a good thing I watched the original Jurassic Park movie, so that I could see how much more entertaining this game was at least to watch.
