This is exactly what LAV should be. Incredible cover of an underrated classic.
I agree, though I'm not sure it qualifies as underrated.
This song was ENORMOUS at the time
@@DJKuroh in the context of the other tracks on that album it was certainly underrated. Not one that gets much radio play anymore either.
@Jacob Maybe it's just where I live. It gets tons of play here (Nebraska). Out of 6 singles: Ironic hit #4 on the top 100, You Oughta Know/You Learn (bundled) hit #6. No #1 hits on that album, and the rest charted well on or topped genre-related charts (pop, adult contemporary) but not the Top 100.
So it still did well against 6 other singles. I would not call it an underrated Alanis song.
Underrated? This was a generational defining hit!
I love that Will is just so damn energetic and into it that he's sweating bullets, and then at the end just chucks out a cheeky thumbs up as if he's still in a garage band trying to go somewhere. Bloke is so authentic and real. 11/10 would listen again
Its called being fat. Seen him a few times and the bloke sweats sitting down.
@@australiancryptogroup3831 you can say that cause he's a bloke, don't you dare say it about Lizzo though
Lizzo’s no Wil Wagner.
@@MrStredders No, he's talented
@@adamwest1138 exactly.
They killed this! Total banger.
Some infectious joy in that one, I loved it!
I love how much he loves playing this.
How the F did this not EVEN PLACE in the Top 100 Hottest Like A Versions?!?!?
I will die not understanding how some songs placed and this didn't...
Don't think it was eligible...Deserved to though!
I tripped over this channel surfing in the car this morning. I have never heard any smith street band songs before. To begin with I found the vocals a bit occa, but stayed with it (and glad that I did ) and was totally blown away! I love the original and found the energy, build up, emotion and orchestration behind this version to be totally captivating! Made it home and went looking for it on TH-cam straight away. Thanks so much for the upload! Got goose bumps again...
Enjoy the smithies ☺️
For sure.... me too. I think this is Hella tight! Glad I stumbled on this too...
It’s affectation, people who sing lose their accents
@@HahaDamn it’s brings such a real energy when people sing with their true accents. Sly Withers do it really well too and it feel so powerful.
Will Wagner is an absolute poet and his vocals (aka "occa accent) only improves his poetry
Anytime I need to smile, I watch this video and it never fails. The energy is just so on point!
The way that this could easily just be a song written by them is so perfect. Great choice lads
Unrivalled I believe. I cried.
Holy sh*t the energy!
They ABSOLUTELY killed it 👏 🙌
Wonderful work folks 👏 👍
This is what like a version should be. A band putting there spin on a classic. Well done will and the gang
Hear hear.
Classic!
Just an incredible cover and I'm always happy for one of favourite songs to be strained through an ocker accent
I can’t stop listening to this. It is so good!
Smithys always deliver!
This is so underrated, haven’t gotten chills like this for a song in awhile, ace
Seems like such a humble dude and stoked just to be jamming...so sick
Love love love this version, absolutely incredible, now a big fan of you guys
Bloody awesome, loved the energy and will now be a fan of this track too! 🖤
Absolutely killed it!
This is wildly good. My bassist and i have the same dynamic in harmonies as the singer and keybord player here and i feel beautiful about it.
Every listen is such a good time! Thank you!
First LAV I’ve listened all the way through in a while. Excellent job boys.
One of the best LAV since Gordi's Linkin Park cover. Amazing.
Fantastic. Love these guys.
I don’t know the band but the first fill of the drummer playing it all with one (even the left) hand is nuts! 😄
Drummer kills it!
Not only excellent song choice but perfect execution.
Superb. No more words needed!
Best LAV for a long time, rock is back on jjj😊

The energy and vibe of the 90s is spot on.. Good job guys and gals.. You fucking rock!
It's like waking up in the 90's again. love the sound!
Great version of a 90's classic. They gave that everything. Awsome to see a band with a bit of success not resting on their laurels.

Great cover! Gee, do ABC have aircon?
NOICE!
Whenever a song is strongly associated with a singer and suddenly a singer of the opposite sex pulls it off, I feel like it's a easy teleport to a completely new story. I love the original and this too. I wish I could quite articulate what feels so deeply arresting and different. What makes an awkward young guy different than an akward woman, when the words used are identical?
Maybe it's interesting to hear the fears of judgement and fragility implied in this song fed through the voice of a man because men tend to have to deal with the fear that others will find them intimidating (at least physically) in ways not as common for women, whereas when Alanis says she's "hard but friendly" it seems she's worried about being read as hostile or unhinged, but it seems more unlikely she's afraid of being read as potentially violent. Maybe it's easier to buy this less glossily-presented guy as the working class person who is "young and (...) underpaid (...) tired but working." or see potential the mental health issues of "sane, but overwhelmed." Absent knowledge of what Morrissette looks like, it's be fascinating to imagine how someone understanding the words and sheet music would imagine the writer looks.
¡ BUENO !
Could have been a smith street song without anyone realising.
Perfect cover
