Remarried Empress FTW!!! I was so hopeful after seeing Solo Leveling get picked up that we would see more manhwa make it over. But shoujo/josei fans really won with this pick up! It’s absolutely one of my favorite webtoons. Also stoked for more Yumi Tamura! I have 3 volumes left to collect of Basara. It would be nice if Viz would do reprints of it. Also FINALLY for A Condition Called Love! It’s super cute! Glad it’s going to finally make it to bookshelves.

Series I Recommend: 7:22 _Shy_ is alright. It's a superhero series, and just like MHA, I feel like it's held back by its weak protagonist. (I love her hair, tho.) I'm behind, tho, so maybe things have changed. 14:20 _Medaka Kuroiwa is Impervious to My Charms_ is great. Just a solid romcom series. Also I'm actually a fan of the official English title for once! Better than the scanlation title. 15:14 _Am I Actually the Strongest?_ is another kinda generic isekai reincarnation series, but it's enjoyable for what it is. Also, Kodansha is actually giving us, in print, both the light novels AND the manga. So that's cool. 16:19 This is the manga adaptation of the first Guren prequel Seraph of the End light novel series. The LNs are absolutely required reading and were licensed by Vertical (which is now under Kodansha proper), so this license makes sense. Havent read the manga adaptation (yet), so I cant speak to it, tho. The sequel Guren light novel series, which doesnt have a manga adaptation (yet), was also licensed by Vertical. Unfortunately, the Mikaela light novels, which are also extremely important, remain unlicensed.* That's really irritating to me. Regardless, cool for fans of the manga. *Unlike the Guren light novels published under Kodansha, the Mikaela light novels were published under Shueisha, so it's likely on VIZ to license them. But VIZ only does light novels for huge huge series, so they'll likely go unlicensed forever. There are only 2 volumes too. Damn shame.

Don't know why Viz didnt just hold their announcements from last month. Insomniacs after dark and Boys Abyss would of been enough for me to say they were almost best in convention but they randomly announced them 2 weeks ago. Actually now im typing this out can see the rationale behind it, I suppose they got solo coverage of their license announcements while everyone that announced at the con had to share the spotlight with 30 other announcements from other publishers. Not sure if its worth giving up on the extra eyeballs and hype surrounded a big anime con but I'm sure they have metrics to back up why they made their decisions.
I need udon to get on them summertime rendering hardcover vol 1-3, them shit are unicorns man. I got the last 3 coming but I got the first 3 in paperback, shit even the paperbacks are becoming ghost

Competition may be good, but yenpress getting a license pretty much guarantees highest prices for prints. They have high cover prices especially compared to viz

I was pretty disappointed by the announcements. We got Iruma finally after all these years which was HUGE deal but that was it. We got some that sound interesting but I don't know if i want to invest in them especially especially since they lack fan-translations

Completely disagree. All other considerations aside (puns, fan-given names, etc.), leaving the title in Japanese is a failure in translation.
