Even though this video is a little old I enjoyed this a lot. I grabbed all the starter sets and some color specific lots on ebay that really helped. I really liked the advice on the last 4-6 cards.
great insight on building a destiny deck (especially that last 5-6 card slots). i struggle on the upgrades and income generation cards mixed with removal. loved the simple approach on the slots, the reminders on synergy and dice removal (all great). thanks!
I just got into this game and am loving it, but we me and my son, are already looking to build decks, but we have questions that are not really clear. Like first of what counts towards your 30 card deck...do plots count towards the 30 cards, we know that your heros and battlefield do not? 2. everything is a action, you can only do one action per turn, so play card, exhaust character and roll dice and all dice attached, but where it gets odd for us, is resolving dice, can you resolve all dice in a turn, or can you only resolve match type dice, like melee, blaster, ect...each turn. 3. what is indirect damage, and how does it differ from melee and blaster... i roll dice says 2 indirect damage...what does that mean for me, besides dealing 2 damage..
Welcome to Destiny! 1- Plots do not count against your deck. But they do count against your characters points! 2- Activating a character is one action (where you roll their dice out and exhaust them), and resolving dice is a separate action. You may resolve all dice showing the same symbol together! All melee symbols regardless of value can be resolved at once, and in one action. 3-When you resolve indirect damage, your opponent gets to decide where that damage goes. If I have 3 stormtroopers and you resolve 6 indirect damage I can evenly spread it out among my stormtroopers. Indirect damage usually has higher values to compensate.
MORE QUESTIONS FOR CLAIRIFICATION - 1. What is AMBUSH - what does it mean? 2. Deck Characters - I can play a neutral with a hero or villain but not both, but am i only limited to grey cards then? I read that on a fourm, but does not sound correct, i thought i could use whatever color i want, as long as it matches the color of my characters. 3. If i have a Neautral, Red, and Yellow characters. Does that mean i can play Grey, red and yellow cards? And can during play can i then attach a Red upgrade to yellow, or is that confined to only my yellow character? These are the things the tiny rule paper is not super clear on. you are the only people who explain things clearly.
Garbage Knight ambush means you can take an additional action and grey can be in any deck and yellow upgrades can go on a red character as long as you have a yellow character alive and in your pool 😀
So I recently got into SW:Destiny, and I've been picking up some booster packs so I can build a full 30 card deck. I've also got 2 starters for the double dice and cards. I've been buying Legends boosters, but I am curious if there are any other packs I should consider picking up to hopefully round out my options?
This is a great question, I will add a #AskCovenant tag to this, we will see about getting it answered in a video! I am sure some others watching have the same question.
Those videos hype me up even more. Couple of questions... I think i'll enjoy more playing villains and I want to find some theme and funny leaders, suggestions? And about boosters... I bought the 2 player starter cause I saw in your videos that certain cards are really good but right now I want to complete my decks with your tips. Empire at war, Awakenings? I dunno what to buy.
THE LITTLE STAR NEXT TO CHARACTER NAMES - i was told you could not use more than one in a deck, but the starter box shows poe and ray with stars by the name...Things that should be covered in RULE BOOK...lol

Also using card like ships- how does that work...i may of played MTG for 20 years, but this game is a different beast. but i love it oh so much more than MTG.

Yes!! Another helpful, humorous and classic Team Covenant video. Keep 'em coming!
I have been playing Destiny for a few months but struggle when it comes to deck building. This was great. Keep it up!

Great video series for Destiny! Any chance that you guys have some Arkham content coming up?
Absolutely! Learning Arkham is up next.
Does the two player starter set come with enough of the dice to make your characters elite or do you need 2 sets?
Also using card like ships- how does that work...i may of played MTG for 20 years, but this game is a different beast. but i love it oh so much more than MTG.
Most ships are supports. Support's take an action to play, and get places by your characters, but not connected to them like upgrades are.
Can you just open a booster box and have an ok deck?
